Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

Saaaaame @HRP1990 i legit do not want a c sec unless it is an emergency. Problem is, her head circumference was in the 90 something percentile, so I’m worried she’s probably got it wedged under my ribs and won’t be able to flip over 😂😂

Imagine 😂 I guess the positive is we’re not being kicked in the ribs lol. I do however feel movement everywhere, so I’m not sure why type of breach he is 🤷🏻‍♀️ we best get on our hands and knees girl!

Xur · 30/06/2024 07:18

Don’t you ladies feel weird how most of us fell pregnant on December 2023 and there are now threads “due March 2025” 🤣

Lillers · 30/06/2024 07:40

@Xur Yes! It’s like, “but that’s over a year from when I got pregnant?!”

I also spent some time this morning stalking the “due June 2024” thread - it’s so weird seeing everyone having their babies and thinking how that will be us lot really soon!

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 30/06/2024 07:49

Just checking in with you all again! Yesterday marked 28 weeks for me - the FINAL trimester wooohooo!! I'm still suffering bad with hyperemesis - and I've been very emotional the last few days. On Thursday I sat down at the dinner table and just burst into tears - yet another day of forcing food into me that tastes awful with my taste buds and that's just gonna be vomited back up. Poor husband and DS were both trying to console me - we are all on the countdown for not only this baby to be here but for me to feel well again.

@Xur @Lillers it's crazy isn't it! I did the exact same a couple weeks back and was having a nosey in the June thread! We've just got to get July over with and then we can officially say we are 'due next month' once August is here 😭

Cat2022 · 30/06/2024 11:28

I wouldn’t worry about them being breach at this point they still have plenty of room to move around so can easily turn. Mine is head down and yesterday I felt like I had a bowling ball between my legs which i definitely didn’t feel until much later last time.

Luckily I’m getting growth scans already because my bump is measuring below the chart which is really surprising as I was always measuring big last time.

I am really struggling with the low iron and low blood pressure constantly feel like I’m going to pass out and not sure how I’m going to cope with work this week. I think I’m going to ring the GP tomorrow as the midwives aren’t being any help and with my ferritin levels so low I don’t see how it will improve anytime soon.

MrsM89 · 30/06/2024 15:15

@Cat2022 did you manage to have your other bloods done? Did they say how long for a result?
Xx

MudandMoet · 30/06/2024 15:58

Hi all,

I've just got back from the 4D scan, unfortunately little missy wasn't playing ball today at all (even after ten mins on their bouncy ball) she was face planted into the placenta and would not budge so no pics. They've offered to rescan next Friday. My midwife did say she was head down two weeks ago but the sonographer today said she's laying totally horizontal across my tummy so those with breech don't worry because they clearly can still move around plenty (I'm 31+4 today) xx

RosiePH · 30/06/2024 16:03

Apparently you can have acupuncture if they are breach. Has about a 50% success rate, but a lot less invasive than an ECV!

SC126 · 30/06/2024 17:44

Went to primark and boots today to get some little bits for a hospital bag. Was disappointed in their selections in store. Fully recommend click and collect before wasting your time.

longingtobe23 · 30/06/2024 19:35

@RosiePH I had acupuncture to help me get pregnant 4-5 treatments in and I was pregnant ... Also helped me the cycle before with awful period cramps!
So I am 100% up for that to turn baby and for a more "natural" induction method from however many weeks all being well
If anything just lovely lying on a warm cosy bed and drifting off 😂
I'll be booking that lady in again she was just fab!

Ordered furniture and car seat base - if you go in for big buys at mama and Papas you get a voucher. Wish I'd known before I ordered other bits haha but still got £100 coming i'll stash for a baby monitor when I need one.

Cat2022 · 30/06/2024 19:46

@MrsM89 they put a rush on them so the parvovirus ones came back in just over a day, thankfully they were negative which was a relief! Hopefully you don’t have to wait too long for yours!

SC126 · 30/06/2024 20:02

@longingtobe23 yes I ordered my pram through them and also got a voucher coming which is a little bonus!

I will say for anyone also considering mamas and papas. The service they give is so good and friendly and they price match everything. I got £300 knocked off my pram as I asked if they would price match online elsewhere. I have also purchased several car seats with them over the years, our eldest nursery furniture and a previous pram and never had a single issue. I’ve spent £1000s with them 😂

HRP1990 · 30/06/2024 20:24

I’ve just reached the point where I laugh, and my belly wobbles along too 😂 does that say 3rd trimester or what!? Haha

MrsM89 · 30/06/2024 20:37

@Cat2022 ah that's great news! I've got to have bloods on Friday but was told will be 6 days for results!? Hope it's quick and negative like yours. Xx

hol92 · 30/06/2024 21:07

Have only just found this thread again - hope everyone is doing well in there pregnancy ❤️ can't believe how fast it's going now! X

Xur · 30/06/2024 22:29

Im still sickish, the cold is in my nose, and the thing is I can’t really try blowing it because I get a nosebleed if I do. I still get regular nosebleeds which has been a thing in my pregnancy, pretty much since first trimester.

We finally moved the house around, we’ve moved all the furniture that’s was due out of the nursery and the nursery stuff has gone in, but not all. We still have to purchase some bits, like a single bed for me, because the chances are I’ll sleep there for some time.
Since we were moving the baby furniture around, we installed the car seat with the base in the car, so that it would stop taking up space in the house because that’s not where it will be kept regardless.

I made a pregnancy snack from the Middle East today-Stuffed dates with walnuts and drizzled with dark chocolate. This is a very healthy snack for the baby. The dates need to be of good quality, I’ve secured some really good ones from specialist traders, as well as the nuts. Takes the treat to a new level.
I think I need to start thinking about doing perineal massage and okra water I think.
I have also gone through 3 bottles of stretch mark cream already and soon I’ll start the 4th one, it will be ironic if I end up with loads of stretch marks.
How is everyone doing with their focus foods? After some long time of loving pesto and mozarella (any dairy for that matter) it looks like I’ve gone over it? I had a wrap I used to loooove through the pregnancy and today it felt like it had no taste. I was craving French onion soup which I made today but not sure for how many days I will be entertained by it.

Also today evening I asked my husband to shave my legs because it was getting difficult to bend over and because I’m still sickish I felt like I don’t have the energy for it. I ran my hand over my leg after shower and the general conclusion is that he didn’t do a very good job with the shave 🪒 🤣🤣🤣

Lillers · 01/07/2024 06:59

@Xur I’m amazed how much my cravings have adjusted since the GD diagnosis - whereas before I was constantly craving crisps and anything with a strong tomato sauce (so pizza, lasagne, bolognese etc) now I can’t have any of that and thought I’d find that really tough, but I’m already starting to crave my GD-friendly snacks more! So really wanting nuts all the time (bit of a pain as I work in a school so can’t have nuts with me) and hummus with peppers. Can’t get enough of it. But my ultimate craving now is strawberries/blueberries, which luckily I can have as they are one of the lower GI fruits, as long as I have them with lots of full fat cream or yoghurt. Honestly the way the body adjusts is amazing!

Xur · 01/07/2024 07:03

@Lillers

might be a dumb question, but why are nuts not allowed in school? 🤔

I have been eating nuts through the whole pregnancy, like almost every day for these last 7 months.

Lillers · 01/07/2024 07:20

@Xur Risk of allergies - most schools are nut-free sites. We’ve got several kids with nut allergies - not all will be impacted by airborne particles (and the science is actually a bit patchy about that anyway) but it’s better to be safe than sorry!

Decaffe · 01/07/2024 07:28

And all of a sudden it was July, and we can say we are due “the month after next!”

malimoon · 01/07/2024 08:04

@Decaffe crazy days!!

My partner and I have our first parenting class tonight - Happy Parents Happy Baby as someone told me they thought it was better than NCT - has anybody else done or started classes? I'm curious to meet the other people in our group as much as anything else! This session is all about birth so I already watched all the associated instructional videos which were informative but also ofc alarming as they have to tell you about tears and episiotomies and all that stuff 🙃 but yeah looking forward to my class, I think

Decaffe · 01/07/2024 08:20

Our classes start at the end of this month! We also swerved NCT due to friends’ reports. As they very much promote drug free vaginal births which won’t at all be relevant to me as I’m having a CS.

Has anyone ever been able to persuade their midwife to refer them for a reassurance scan at the 28 week appt? I have so many risk factors going into this pregnancy that I feel three months is too long to not set eyes on him. I’m going to ask but not sure if it’s a done thing?

tryingfortwo2 · 01/07/2024 08:30

I’m due 27th Aug (but that was bumped forward and I’m so sure I’ll go late, into Sept) but that means that this morning I can technically say we’re due a baby next month! 😱

malimoon · 01/07/2024 08:36

@Decaffe I have a good chance of requiring a CS as well for various reasons so that put me off NCT too. The prep for this class did talk about both options as well as lots about the various interventions that might be involved so that is a good start!

I can't help re reassurance scan I'm afraid as I ended up with a growth scan c.26+4 and then have another scan at 32 to look at my fibroids and baby's relative position so I've seen him a couple of extra times just based on how things have fallen out. My sense is that they're happy to scan if they have any concerns but it's always been prompted by clinicians so I haven't had to ask myself.

MudandMoet · 01/07/2024 09:22

@tryingfortwo2 Same here, due 'next month' I'm due 28th August (originally bumped forward from the 4th September) but have asked to be induced a week early so just over 7 weeks to go... Eeek!

@Decaffe I'm sure if you mention to your midwife she'll book one in for you. I'd be surprised if she denied it if you have risk factors. Good luck 🤞🏼

We have our antenatal class booked for Saturday, apparently it's a 4 hour course that covers the basics. No idea if it'll be any good but we have friends doing it also so should be fun!

@Xur I gave up with the stretch mark cream after month 2 I couldn't be arsed with it, I personally think a lot of that kind of stuff is down the genetics and all the creams in the world wouldn't stop certain people getting them. So far so good but 7 weeks to go! Also my pregnancy diet is just what I fancy. Mostly cream buns/slices and maccies in all honesty but I do throw the odd homemade meal in and a bowl of fruit for good measure 🙂🙃
