Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

Page 40 | September 2024 - Thread 7! 🐣🧡💛❤️ | Mumsnet

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

I don’t feel big. I just feel fat 💁🏻‍♀️

I relate so much to this xD
I'm sure it's plenty bump too, but I've definitely gained some weight 🙈

My DH called me a barrel yesterday because I'm "carrying produce", ie "producing him a son" lol!

How's everyone doing with general exhaustion?
I'm 29+2 atm, and honestly doing anything at all makes me utterly exhausted. Keep trying to force myself to get house stuff done (because frankly it needs doing before baby's here otherwise it won't get done) but it's honestly all just so much for me to handle, spent 2.5 hours sat in a chair outside painting our bedside tables yesterday and today I feel like I've been in a bloody marathon, I was sat on my arse ffs! x.x

EDIT; Ooh, before I forget, has anyone else been being spammed with adverts about cord blood donation?
Is it worth doing d'you think? I'm all for donating to help others, especially if it'll just be thrown out anyway - but I've also seen some places say you have to pay to have it collected which seems a bit... questionable? Imo? I'm really not sure, a lot of the info online is quite vague, might have to ask MW next time I'm due to go in :S

@mrsbgb The waiting room was so tiny they were actively encouraging us to go somewhere else! I didn’t go far, just to the main hospital building and into the little garden there. When I came back there was nowhere to sit, loads of men sitting on the few chairs on their phones and one woman sprawled asleep across 4 seats. A midwife had to come out and tell all the men to get up so the fasting pregnant women could sit 🙄.

The results have been uploaded to my online account - the first set of bloods is in range and fine, but the second one is slightly above the normal range (8.6, normal is anything under 7.8). They’re going to call me tomorrow afternoon to discuss next steps - not sure if this means it’s a definite positive for GD or if it’s borderline and maybe means a retest. Has anyone else had a high result?

cd24x · 20/06/2024 19:21

@Lillers you just reminded me that the same thing happened at one of my antenatal appointments with DS 3 years ago. Waiting room was a row of maybe 10 chairs in a corridor. Midwives running late so very busy. The number of men sitting in a chair on their phones with pregnant women having to stand around 😒 Same thing happened - very stern midwife came out and gave them all a good telling off and told them to go elsewhere until their partners were called through.

Hope you get the answers for your results soon xx

PoppingUp · 20/06/2024 19:50

Men aren't allowed in the waiting room of the maternity bit of my hospital- they wait in the corridor outside (with their own allocation of chairs). I'd thought it was a bit of a funny set up the first time I visited but clearly they're on to something!

Ladies, I must confess…
I ate a whole box of cherries by myself tonight
not just a box, but this box!

Had an interview yesterday with my big bump on show haha … lucky it was an internal role I am applying for so fingers crossed and hopeful! Just a delayed start Sept 2025

starting The nursery FINALLY this weekend and decorator is in for the paper as I don’t trust myself and it was expensive 😬
not got many ailments yet (just luck I suppose!) but getting out of bed in the morning - I am exhausted but once up I am okay…. 😂

the big knicker line really kills my vibe - but who’s wearing a thong at 27 weeks!?

@longingtobe23 I’m still in thongs at nearly 31 weeks, poor things must be clinging on for dear life 😂😂

Xur · 21/06/2024 10:55

@longingtobe23 I am also constantly wearing thongs. But cotton ones though 🤣

longingtobe23 · 21/06/2024 11:53

@tryingfortwo2 @Xur i suppose I only have Lacey teeny tiny and they just do NOT look good 😂
might have to get myself some no VPL ones look back at that bump shot though… fortunately it was just a dog walk and decorating day 😂

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 21/06/2024 12:09

Also same! I go between 2 year old Primark grannies to literally taking the washing in in a tiny thong. Perhaps it’s time to go shopping 🥲

Lillers · 21/06/2024 13:55

Hospital called, they’ve confirmed that I do have gestational diabetes. I’ve got an appointment next week to go through what this actually means for me. Can’t pretend I’m not upset about it, but I guess I just need to deal with it.

I spent some time earlier looking at the Gestational Diabetes UK website and looks like I’m going to have to make a lot of changes.

WinsandSam · 21/06/2024 14:22

@longingtobe23 😂😂 I'm usually a size 10/12 and am in size 20 M&S granny briefs. So comfortable! Anything else just gives you VPL

@Lillers oh I'm gutted for you! Might explain why you've been feeling unwell. Just remember it's something that can be managed, you'll be well looked after, have additional scans etc. be kind to yourself. I'm sure many more in the group will be diagnosed too xx

I'm so jealous, you look amazing!!

I feel like I look like that girl who blows up like a blueberry in Willy Wonka compared to you!! 😅😂😂

Oh poo. I’ve seen so many videos and stories of people with GD having their desired birth and it being really positive, and the GD being completely diet controlled so don’t lose hope!🩷

malimoon · 21/06/2024 18:33

Sorry @Lillers . Got my GTT next week and I already know baby is a biggie so won't be surprised if I'm in the same boat! Fingers crossed yours responds well to dietary changes

Lillers · 21/06/2024 18:57

@WinsandSam @Honeyandsunshine1 @malimoon Thanks guys. It’s quite overwhelming to get my head around, but it is a just 3 months and then hopefully that’s it. My husband has been amazing - he came home from work and has got rid of all the sugary stuff in the house, and is taking me for a walk so we can talk about lifestyle changes we can make together. He’s very up for joining me in my new diet which honestly makes so much difference, knowing I’m not alone.

longingtobe23 · 21/06/2024 19:44

@SpicyMoth by the end of the day I am a blob!!! And still 12 weeks yet 😩 my first baby was 9lb9oz… so I am preparing for a whopper haha

Oh gosh, I can't even quite visualise that! The chonkiest I've seen on my FB feed from friends has been around 7lbs I think from memory?
This one will be my first but I'm expecting a bit of a whopper as well as my partner is well over 6ft with Dutch blood I'm a measly 4ft11 - I hope this isn't too personal to ask, (ofc feel free to ignore if it is!) but did you have your first vaginally or C-section?
I'm so super nervous about the pain that may well come with wee chonkers!
😅

longingtobe23 · 21/06/2024 20:47

@SpicyMoth fortunately he is just particularly tall! So his height and legs were always measuring 2/3 weeks ahead of his body haha! I am 5ft7 and my husband 6ft2 - my brother is 6ft5… so we were expecting tall!

So I gave birth vaginally… but as the consultant pulled him out he just kept coming 😂 he is 8 years old now and we share shoes already and he shops in adult shoe section! He never looked chonky (to me anyway) just very very long!
also he was nearly 14 days late! So that certainly added to size 😅

@longingtobe23 this baby looks like he came out 8 months old already 🤣 ready to roll over, his feet were massive!!

longingtobe23 · 21/06/2024 20:56

@Xur hahah well he’s predicted six foot four! And I take much pride in him being not far off some of my friends husbands at 8 years old 😂
