Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

@Honeyandsunshine1 i am feeling this too. I get asked how long have you got and I'm like 12weeks. People look shocked. Tbh I feel so big already I'm not surprised. Xx

We sound like we’re in the same boat! How many weeks are you now? I’m convinced she’s going to. Come early. It’s got to be that, or I’ll end up exploding 🤣

Honeyandsunshine1 · 19/06/2024 22:35

WinsandSam · 19/06/2024 22:09

@Honeyandsunshine1 thank you! All fine blood pressure and urine wise. Just waiting for my blood results now.

Wow, that's super exciting for you and such a lovely idea 💡

Like you I feel huge and although some tell me I have a very "neat" bump, others comment on how big my babies going to be 😂

Great news 👏🏻 Was this your 28 week midwife appt? I always get the absolute fear having them put the BP cuff on me. I swear the cuff being put on is enough for me to get high blood pressure alone lol.

Yeah it’ll be really fun, hopefully anyway. Saves the drama of people’s unsolicited advice and opinions on what the wedding should be like. So we’re doing it alone with (essentially) 2 strangers then a few days later it’ll be “surprise, this is actually our wedding reception”. Boom. Done. 🥲😂

MrsM89 · 19/06/2024 22:40

@Honeyandsunshine1 I'm 28w tomorrow. I remeber being huge with my other 2 but feel bigger again this time. I am only 4ft 11 so think I don't have the space to carry other than a huge bump. How far are you?
Xx

SC126 · 20/06/2024 06:14

@Honeyandsunshine1 i love this idea of a surprise wedding reception! We had an intimate wedding 7 years ago and it’s one of the best decisions we made. Not quite as intimate as yours but we basically only had immediate family attend. I wanted to elope but compromised because my husband wanted his parents to be there. We then had a bbq for the wedding food. Your going to have the best day.

I had my 28 week appt yesterday and also no mention of a health visitor. I can’t remember if one came when I was pregnant with my eldest as it was so long ago. Every was good at the appointment and bump measured between 50th and 90th centile. My eldest was born on the 77th centile so I think this one will be similar.
i also feel massive. People are actually polite and say my bump has recently popped and im not that big but i think my clothes hide it because im huge 😂

Lillers · 20/06/2024 06:59

Morning all. Got my GTT today. I’m pleased it’s early - although it means I’m getting the exact same train I’d be getting to work, just getting off a stop earlier, so no benefits of a lie in like I normally would when I have appointments. I’m also dreading sitting for 2 hours in the manky waiting room - I’ve got a pile of marking to keep me busy but I know it’s going to be so uncomfortable!

HRP1990 · 20/06/2024 07:05

aww @Honeyandsunshine1 how exciting!! Are you wearing a wedding dress/suit or is it casual?

I’m glad you guys all feel “big” because I am too. My MIL told me I look bigger than I am 🥲 Lol this boy is still breach and I find just sitting up uncomfortable because I’ve got a huge head between my ribs. I can reach my toes fine because he’s obviously not in my pelvis lol. It’s just making breathing tricky occasionally!

tryingfortwo2 · 20/06/2024 07:34

@Honeyandsunshine1 that’s so lovely, and I love the surprise aspect too!

@HRP1990 I’m not sure if mine is still breech but she’s certainly so high! The bottom on my bump is actually weirdly soft, whilst the top two thirds are rock hard 🥴 bending over is certainly tricky!

Has anyone found anything to help the night leg cramps by any chance..? It’s a nightly occurrence here and so painful.

WinsandSam · 20/06/2024 07:36

@Honeyandsunshine1 no, it was at my gp surgery. I rang midwives about dizziness etc and they said to get a same day gp appointment as they couldn't fit me in

WinsandSam · 20/06/2024 07:39

I'm only 26 weeks and feel so uncomfortable with my bump! She was scanned Friday and was head down. Hence why I feel I'm going to wee myself a lot 😂 I have a very short torso at 5'3" and feel so squashed already

Cat2022 · 20/06/2024 07:59

I decided I’m going to order the stuff for my hospital bag today. Definitely didn’t do it anywhere near as early last time but I have a busy month at work in July so want to get something out the way.

12 weeks to go feels crazy to say, almost on the home stretch.

Emmaev · 20/06/2024 08:14

I can’t even believe I’m 29 weeks, everything is such a struggle and I’m with you on the big bump. I had a lady ask when I was due and when I said September she looked at me like I thought you were due next week. Nah I’ve got a whole summer of this!

The dizziness is absolutely no fun. Feeling it constantly if I get too hot. But my bloods and iron are fine. Also my feet have been so swollen which obviously sets me off thinking I have pre eclampsia again, but urine and bp are all stable.

I’ve been getting growth scans at 28,32,36 and 40 due to previous premature labour, iugr & pre eclampsia. But I was classified as low risk last time and only had the 12 & 20 until it all went south

Lillers · 20/06/2024 08:58

In the waiting room between GTT bloods. I feel sick and exhausted and just want to lie down 😭. If there was some nice grass or something outside I’d just go and lie there, but I feel like if I lie down in the car park people will get annoyed 😂

I think that’s a really good idea! Up until now I’ve only made a baby list of things we need, but hadn’t written a hospital list yet! Would you share if you’re happy to? I need to rebuy nipple cream, breast pads etc so I could probably do it all in 1 sweep!

Lillers · 20/06/2024 09:33

Nearly passed out in the waiting room - great fun. I decided to wander up to the main hospital with the logic that there will probably be a garden hidden away somewhere - I was right! Now much more comfortable on a bench outside with some trees to keep me company.

cd24x · 20/06/2024 10:44

@Lillers glad you found a bench and some fresh air. I've got my GTT on Monday and dreading it. Everyone I've spoken to has felt really ill during it. Hope you feel better soon.

@HRP1990 I'll add my list below, although it's geared more towards c section and postnatal ward stay. Need to make a separate list for a smaller bag for what I'll need during labour for vaginal birth in case i go that route. And then give DH detailed instructions on what bag is needed when!

Lillers · 20/06/2024 10:53

@cd24x I’d say I felt really rough for about 15 minutes, then I was absolutely fine. Had the second blood test and now on my way to work, having just eaten a giant pasta from M&S 😊

Thank you! Saving this in case of a C section, higher not too dissimilar to what I packed for a vaginal birth last time.

Also, those worried about the health visitor not being in touch/having an appointment. Ours came over today for my daughter’s 2 year review, and said they get in touch around 35 weeks and it’s usually a video call. I’m in the south, so may be different else where, just thought I’d flag in case!

malimoon · 20/06/2024 11:50

having horrible round ligament pain today, it really feels like I can feel my ligaments being pulled taut inside me. wondering if I will go for a swim later to see if that helps but it's a 25 minute walk to the pool and it's so warm today!

WinsandSam · 20/06/2024 12:15

So got my blood results on the nhs app. Unsurprisingly I feel unwell 🥴 all of these are out. Imagine the iron is what's giving me dizziness, breathlessness and palpitations

MrsM89 · 20/06/2024 13:09

28w consultant appointment today. So apparently I was meant to have 4weekly scans after my 20w one - but no one booked them. Got to go back tomorrow for my 28w one.

Slapped cheek exposure I need bloods retested in about 2 weeks from now.

Blood pressure etc all fine and met the trauma/loss midwife who's been in contact with me before and she was lovely, attended the appointment with me and said she will see me tomorrow for the scan, offered to come to midwife next week even.

mrsbgb · 20/06/2024 13:51

@MrsM89 that's awful that they forgot to schedule your scans, but I'm pleased they're getting it sorted now - hopefully the trauma midwife will help advocate for you and make sure you get the care you and baby need!

@Lillers I'm very jealous you were allowed to go for a wander, I was told that if I left the waiting room my second blood draw would be cancelled and I'd have to start all over again! Seems like they don't trust pregnant women to not go and have a snack in my trust?!

MudandMoet · 20/06/2024 14:03

@Decaffe yes I was too, I wasn't expecting the questions like that either. Luckily no mental health, money or relationship issues so think we passed 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ I was honest and said there's not a cat in hells chance I would parent like my own parents 😬 *looks for the black sheep emoji

@Honeyandsunshine1 sounds like a great idea, we eloped too! 🤍🫶🏻

I'm having ten mins in the sunshine just now and I feel like a whale! I've gone from having a neat bump to just a total beach ball in the last week. I do have a line full of sage green and pink huge muslins though so that's making me smile.

Xur · 20/06/2024 16:03

I don’t feel big. I just feel fat 💁🏻‍♀️

HRP1990 · 20/06/2024 16:17

@MudandMoet I love a satisfying baby wash - everything is so tiny 🥹

So I’ve just booked an appointment to have my bump made into a sculpture! You know the little busts you see on mantle pieces etc? I thought it was a lovely way to capture that moment in time of being pregnant 🫶🏼 it’s definitely not cheap, but it’ll be nice to look back on when he is here https://www.studiobust.com/

Hi everyone, I have been a bit quiet recently. I am just over 25 weeks now and had my midwife appointment Tuesday which went well. I have my GTT next week thankfully my appointment is also in the morning. Has anyone else felt quite emotional for no reason? I had that earlier today but fine again now.
