@Redheadx it's so disheartening. I think my experience with my 2nd pregnancy sweep gave me too much hope for this sweep. I have another one booked for next Tuesday I'll be 40+3. Are you going to have another?

Good luck for those waiting.

I had my baby yesterday and we’re both doing well. Still in quite a lot of pain from the c section but it’s definitely getting better.

Congratulations!! I hope it all went well 😍

Redheadx · 19/06/2024 09:57

@Suchardchoccy that’s annoying especially if it worked before for you. I have one booked in Friday if the head re engages but I think it has I can feel the pressure again but then my induction will be Sunday which I really really really don’t want to do.

@MizzMarple congratulations!! What lovely news! Take care and recover. Enjoy your bubble x

Wheeeeee · 19/06/2024 10:03

Congratulations @MizzMarple! Hoping for a smooth recovery for you ❤️

I had a really stressful day yesterday (various life stuff not pregnancy related) and have seriously lost my zen 😬 it's kicked off my pregnancy anxiety which I'd had really well under control. Sigh. Getting lots of random cramping but nothing really progressing yet...

Redheadx · 19/06/2024 10:07

@Wheeeeee i hope your okay! We have all got this ladies… positive vibes are coming our way I can feel it!

Hope your cramps progress xx have had 3 nice regular strong ones now but daren’t get my hopes up

@Redheadx

I really know how you feel - I’ve always had the babies a few hours after sweep so always assumed it’s a definite “go time” and now feel let down and panicked about next steps. But every reason to think a second will do the job for you and there’s a long time until Sunday in pregnancy land x

Agony from the sweep or contractions??

My backs really sore after sweep and lower stomach. Slight bit of bleeding too! Im scared I don’t know what a contraction feels like (stupid I know) but had the hormone drip with my first born so was 0-100 in 5 minutes. Currently laying up on the couch but I assume if it was to progress I’d know all about it eventually?
im not great with pain either 😂😖!!

Ah okay! With DD2 I was having contractions from the get go after my sweep but I just assumed they were "post sweep pains" and was expecting them to wear off, they got more painful as the day went on and then I didn't actually believe I was in labour until my waters went about 5 hours later and they really ramped up. Let's see what happens with your pains! 🤞🏻

CamdenQueen · 19/06/2024 17:39

Well we had a big surprise on Sunday when our baby came racing into the world at 38+2 weeks. We arrived in hospital at 5:30pm and babe was in my arms by 6:45pm! A total whirlwind and still in a bit of shock at the early arrival but we are so smitten. So much for first babies always going overdue!!

good luck to all those waiting x

ohhh!! That’s interesting I didn’t realise it could happen so quickly!! I’ll be keeping an eye on these pains for sure x

@user1473880439 keep an eye on bleeding I think a little spotting is ok but more than that you should get checked. I’m sorry it hurt 😫

a whole day of more painful cramps, more mucus plug and….nothing. So either a baby is going to come tonight or hope to god the second sweep at 10ish tomorrow does the job speedily.

either way, I’m having Chinese for dinner.

Suchardchoccy · 19/06/2024 18:52

@user1473880439 that's why I expected it to work this time too 😭

@CamdenQueen congratulations!!

Catson · 19/06/2024 22:44

@Ad12345678 I don't understand why they're saying baby should be engaged by now, my first certainly wasn't by then. But the reason why they'll be distinguishing first baby from subsequent babies is that after the first as your muscles have done it all before etc baby is more likely to go in and out of being engaged and they often don't engage properly right until the final moment

Anxiousheartbeat · 20/06/2024 05:39

Is anyone else finding all this emotional rollercoaster is putting them off the actual labour a bit? I was in a very good mental space after the last 2 births were nice and now I’m in a bit of a nervous place/don’t want to do it!

second sweep happening this morning.

Yep! It's just more and more time to think about it.
Good luck with your second sweep - mine isn't until Tuesday 😭

Congratulations @CamdenQueen! I hope you're enjoying the snuggles 🥰 don't be surprised if you feel a bit wobbly for a while about the rapid early arrival - I think we get understandably very psyched up for the possibility of long and complicated labours but the rapid ones can end up being a different kind of shock.

@user1473880439 how are things now after your sweep?

I'm booked in for a sweep tomorrow so 🤞🏻 for the weekend. 💪🏻 to everyone still hanging on in there!

I absolutely hate to say it but I’m terrified for labor/birth. My pain threshold is shocking and after my sweep yesterday I quickly realised I have no idea how I’m going to labor and birth a human (again!). Trying to get myself out of that mindset and into a better one as I CAN do it and have done it before I just need to not loose focus!

still very crampy/sore back too! Had a bath last night but I doubt things will progress on their own before my induction tomorrow although might be surprised when I get examined before induction

Wheeeeee · 20/06/2024 08:53

If it's any consolation I also feel the fear big time if I actually stop and think about it. I'm just trying to distract myself from thinking too much! Fingers in ears, lalala 😁

Suchardchoccy · 20/06/2024 08:53

This is my third and I'm also terrified
