Good luck 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 @Anxiousheartbeat
@Wheeeeee yep the cramps at night but are gone in the morning have been happening for me too

user1473880439 · 18/06/2024 11:44

Was a bit crampy last night before bed right through to this morning thought I potentially had a UTI but been at daycare for something seperate and urine is clear! Had a bit of an increase in creamy white discharge today and a wee wet patch in underwear.. could this be the start? (Probably not) 😂 due date is tomorrow 🤞🏼

I hope so for you! increase in discharge is definitely a sign

Like my 3rd baby , this one is now sort of half back to back so head is at a funny angle. That’s why my labour keeps starting and stopping (I’m not going crazy after all). Midwife has given me a sweep and a load of jiggling to do to try to move her so let’s see, hopefully stuff falls into place today. At least I’m not losing it (any more than usual).

Suchardchoccy · 18/06/2024 12:06

@user1473880439 ooo yes my discharge has been increasing lately too

@Anxiousheartbeat let's hope it does something! And I hope it's doing something for @Redheadx too!

Sorry girls for the lack of update.. I had cramps all night and this morning hoping something was happening sadly I am back to nothing again it is so frustrating. I have the midwife at 3pm today as this was meant to be my sweep day but ended up getting it yesterday at hospital maybe she will be able to tell if anything is happening xx
now feeling sorry for myself eating milky ways lol

Redheadx · 18/06/2024 13:33

@Suchardchoccy that is very true hopefully it’s the build up then.. I will keep you all posted. I do feel a bit tender down there and my belly feels strange x

I’m sorry! I’m pleased someone else has just given up and eating chocolate though. My midwife was giving me all the sensible “go get ‘em” advice about enjoying it and walking in the sunshine. I’ve walked on the treadmill instead as I don’t want to put pants on and be a normal person I’m just sitting waiting for this bloody baby. Good luck with the midwife

has anyone lost their mucus plug? I’ve never lost one before but a clump of sort of grey has come out of me (sorry) and assuming that’s it?!

Suchardchoccy · 18/06/2024 14:59

Just had my sweep. Cervix is soft and 1-2cm dilated but she said baby's head is high and when she was sweeping me her head was going further up so not convinced it will work, I'm on a walk now tho

Sometimes just the act of the poking will get stuff going and then the baby will come down so let’s see! 🧹🧹🧹 magic for everyone

So far nothing. Doing some aromatherapy now!

Redheadx · 18/06/2024 15:56

@Suchardchoccy at least your 1-2cm and progress you never know.

@Anxiousheartbeat I haven’t lost my mucus plug.

I have had a melt down in the midwife’s office infront of her and the student. She offered me another sweep and it turns out the baby head is no longer engaged. I ugly cried infront of them. Then on the phone to my husband then the phone to my mum! This is not how I thought things would go. I feel so defeated. No longer feeling positive and in control of my pregnancy journey

Sending you internet hugs. Of course you cried - it’s hugely anticlimactic and disappointing at this point. Plus all the hormones and discomfort. Plus you must be bloody exhausted!!! all of those are good reasons to cry, and obviously the head no longer being engaged sounds like a step back but they do sort of pop in and out doing the Hokey Cokey so I wouldn’t worry. At least it’s not stuck/probably means you have a nice open birth canal!

tbh this is bullshit. Once you’re overdue and start feeling stuff and things don’t happen it’s just a fucking shitshow of emotions and anticipation.

I’m eating more toblerone i give up. She will be in there for days more or she will come at the worst possible time eg the children’s bedtime or something. I was positive at 4am I would have a baby here by lunchtime without a sweep, and now I’ve had a sweep and there’s fuck all. I can’t put any more clary sage in the diffuser and I can’t smell anything.

Redheadx · 18/06/2024 16:39

@Anxiousheartbeat thank you for the virtual hug!
The midwife did say it was normal and not to worry but at the time I couldn’t even think about it I just cried lol!

LOL I shouldn’t laugh but your message made me lol it is bullshit it’s one big mind fuck!

I bought so much crisps and chocolate after the midwife appointment I have decided I am eating it all tonight while crying on the sofa lol! I hope your baby girl doesn’t come at a bad time for you but if she does then who cares as at least she’s coming out.

The midwife appointments make you feel worse not better! My midwife was trying her best to sympathise with me but I felt like saying you have ruined my day ( not on purpose obviously )

It’s a mess and I can’t wait to burst this bloody yoga ball sick of the sight of it!

DanisEndo · 18/06/2024 16:40

Sending so much hope and love to those with sweeps, feeling frustrated or crampy or just plain fed up @Redheadx @Suchardchoccy @Anxiousheartbeat @Wheeeeee @user1473880439 +anyone else I’ve missed.

night before last I had awful cramps which were consistent for a few hours then subsided but then woke me up a few times in the night. She felt so low down as well my bladder was squiiiished and that woke me up a few times too. I was starting to think it might be the start but by yesterday morning it’s all eased up, and nothing last night or today. I have managed to harvest another 5ml of colostrum though! 💪🏻

i have a 39 week appointment with the midwife Thursday + final growth scan Friday. So far no-ones mentioned sweeps or inductions to me which I’m quite happy about.

im excited to meet baby girl but am quite nervous for birth and am hoping to squeeze one last week at work to get a final thing over the finish line.

I feel in such a strange place, knowing she’s so close to being here but also knowing it’s all completely out of my control and a waiting game. Weird.

The ball!!!!!! The bloody ball!!!!!!!

I bounced on it for hours with DS1 and got PTSD And never used it for the next 2 but got one this time and can’t bring myself to do more than a few exercises on it. Bastarding ball!

MorningsideMaisie · 18/06/2024 21:43

Joining the sweep club too, although I'm only 38+5 my midwife was happy to do one. I had had one at 38+1, which felt a lot more “sweeping” but the midwife struggled today because she said the cervix was short and soft, with lots of show so hard to get a grasp of (sorry if that’s TMI!). Not having any cramps at all today, but planning a very long walk tomorrow. Maybe between that, the pineapple and curry tonight, hoping I might have a baby this week…

Anxiousheartbeat · 19/06/2024 06:47

Horrible night of cramps and/or feeling baby pressing down below as if waters about to go. Nothing happened but labour feels properly imminent. One of my children has a nursery show today I’m supposed to go and watch but I think it would probably be quite stupid to go so far from home so I should send DH instead. But then if nothing happens today I will feel so awful for missing it!

Redheadx · 19/06/2024 07:50

@Anxiousheartbeat good luck! I hope this is it for you!

I have also woke up feeling funny.. cramp this morning. We had a leak last night our full bedroom carpet and livingroom ceiling is wet. Maybe the stress will send me into labour! Couldn’t write it!

The wrong type of waters breaking in your house! Hopefully you can get it sorted today x

Suchardchoccy · 19/06/2024 08:59

I did the aromatherapy and went on two walks yesterday after my sweep and nothing. I've not even had period pain or bleeding from the sweep itself 😅

Redheadx · 19/06/2024 09:34

@Suchardchoccy i was the same nothing. The midwife prepared me for all sorts. I had absolutely nothing. Wee bit crampy at first then it left by that night. It’s so unfair. I have read online it only really works if labour is close but obviously I don’t know how true that is

MizzMarple · 19/06/2024 09:37

Good luck for those waiting.

I had my baby yesterday and we’re both doing well. Still in quite a lot of pain from the c section but it’s definitely getting better.
