Haven't checked this in a long time, nice to see the babies have started arriving.

38+2. Working up to my due date, but won't be displeased if baby decides to arrive earlier, though right now doesn't feel like that's gonna happen.

Also 38w2d!
They booked my growth scan for 40w although it is very pointless but oh well. And my Midwife is trying to sneak in another apt before 40weeks which I don't need at all. And just more headache to arrange for DH to look after DS.
Hopefully baby would have arrived by then.

AnonymousXXIX · 10/07/2024 22:14

@MixedCouple2 getting a full syringe every night now. Def more from the right than the left, as was the case last time I was bf too.

For snacks I've got some brownie protein bars (previous midnight bf craving), crackers, crisps. Might add figs, dates and nuts as I normally like to snack on them in the day, but not sure about during labour or nighttime. Think I'll actually pack bananas and apples. Last time in my whole 3 day labour all I could stomach was 1 apple. Would like to get some coconut water but keep not being able to find it at the shops!

Have an extra scan booked to check baby's position, because none of my midwifes have been 100% sure on it the last month!

Just bouncing on my ball with the football now. It's coming home?!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 10/07/2024 22:30

@Cherubs4 - congratulations! Massive baby - well done you!!

@MixedCouple2 - colostrum I’m finally getting enough to harvest from the right and managed to get 0.5mls today but barely a glisten on the left, hoping it’ll come in, but I guess it may not.

wannabe123 · 10/07/2024 23:49

@Cherubs4 congratulations! What an amazing size!

Baby Finley was born at 7:41pm after 16 hours of labour with the help of forceps.

Amberellaella · 11/07/2024 00:40

Congratulations @wannabe123!

Savvy21 · 11/07/2024 01:26

Congratulations @Cherubs4 and @wannabe123. Hope you're all doing well :-)

MixedCouple2 · 11/07/2024 01:35

@AnonymousXXIX thats great work! I am really hoping it won't be needed as I don't have much. But i heard it amps up at 39weeks. So shall see.

Oh yes must pack some dates!! I was the opposite lol I was snacking loads in labour. I even had dinner around 4cm dilation. Eating between contractions on hands and knees 😂 just a beef broth soup with a salad. And then between 4-8 I was snacking on bars and prunes!
Postpartum I was ravenous! Like I was having 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners etc. 🙄😅

I was on the ball this afternoon and did some labour prep yoga..some great YT videos.
Not a footy fan lol

@Morningcoffeeaddict woohoo! Thats great news 🎉

@wannabe123 congrats on babies arrival. Hope your recovering well! And both bonding. Babies are all making there grand appearances now 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

MixedCouple2 · 11/07/2024 02:09

This evening after putting DS to bed. I relaxed in bed and did aome hypnobirthing and felt some stronger period cramps velly and hips! I was like oh - is it happening 😂 i was super relaxed and breathed through it. I nodded off didn't I and woke up at 1am with nothing 😂

SapphireSeptember · 11/07/2024 02:23

@wannabe123 Woohoo, congratulations! That's wonderful! 🥰🎉

@MixedCouple2 Oh dear, that's frustrating. 😔

I have some exciting news, I've been offered a flat! Sadly not in the town I'm living in, it's the next stop along the East Coast Mainline between Peterborough and London (going south). But one of my friends lives there so I won't be completely isolated. I do think I'm going to have to move wards though (wards are like parishes and it's what my church calls them.) I've been going there for nearly 11 years!

ceruleansky · 11/07/2024 05:46

Thank you, everyone!! I have been trying to catch up to the thread to see how everyone's doing. Almost impossible with a 4 day old constantly attacking my boobs 🙃 all we do here is feed and sleep and poop.

Hope to hear about more babies and we should create a July Moms Grad thread to talk about our newborns!

@Cherubs4
Congratulations!! 🩵🩵 Hope you get a lot of rest with your sweet baby!!

ceruleansky · 11/07/2024 06:00

Congratulations on your twins @User491 !! 🩵🩷 Wishing you a safe recovery!

Congratulations @wannabe123 !! 16 hours!! Hope you're doing well.

wannabe123 · 11/07/2024 06:18

@ceruleansky thank you! Finley is feeding so well so different to my first born. Not had much sleep over the past couple of days but hoping I'll be able to catch up a bit today!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 11/07/2024 06:50

@wannabe123 - congratulations on the arrival! Welcome to the world Finley!

MixedCouple2 · 11/07/2024 07:45

@SapphireSeptember aghhh that's annoying but seems to be how it is these days! Lots available here in North Wales 😂

SapphireSeptember · 11/07/2024 08:41

@ceruleansky That sounds like an excellent idea! 😁 Continue the conversation and coo over all the cute babies!

I keep getting little crises of conscience where I wonder what on earth I'm letting myself in for. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Bit late to worry about that now!

@MixedCouple2 Typical! I wish I'd got the first flat I bid on, that was here and close to the town centre, but that was withdrawn for some reason. 🤷🏻‍♀️

missmoosh · 11/07/2024 08:51

@wannabe123 amazing news on your new arrival!! How did you find the induction process?

AnonymousXXIX · 11/07/2024 08:56

Oh my gosh well done @wannabe123 !

And that's great news @SapphireSeptember . It sounds like a good location to be in, for walks in the countryside! Once I was able to actually walk again, I loved taking my baby in the sling and exploring different local places for walks that I'd never had time for before.

Cherubs4 · 11/07/2024 11:00

Congratulations @wannabe123 our babies are birthday twins 😊

@ceruleansky great idea to have a Grad thread

MixedCouple2 · 11/07/2024 14:37

I had some vomiting today! I haven't been sick at all this entire pregnancy. Just got home from the shops and was making lunch and just came over me. I had a sick bag on hand luckily and had to hide form DS he was so worried and asked if I was ok and if I wanted water. Bless him.
My cramps were on and off last night and this morning. But nothing now.

AnonymousXXIX · 11/07/2024 17:03

A consultant I'd never seen before really pushed for an induction at my appointment just now due to potential big baby, and even gave me a letter with a date and tine for the day after my due date! Feeling really uncomfortable about this and very unsure what to do.

Jess725 · 11/07/2024 17:18

@wannabe123 oh goodness, congratulations ❤️ so exciting. I hope you are doing well 🥰 love the name so so much! We had this on our list for boy names ❤️
@SapphireSeptember yay to the flat ☺️ good work!
@MixedCouple2 how are you feeling now? ❤️

oh goodness ladies I just need to vent - I just got sent to triage for my 40+3 midwife appointment. I usually sail through the checks but most checks were abnormal especially the growth, only 0.5cm growth in nearly 3 weeks.
I appreciate this tends not to be accurate though..

At triage I was monitored for movements and midwife said happy baby so all worries lifted ☺️
Consultant came into the room and suggested scary reasons why baby might not be growing, really scared me and wow the pressure to stay in today and be induced. Instead I asked to wait and see what the scan shows up tomorrow before making a decision

I have no problem with being induced btw, I’m grateful for medical care but, I’d like to give baby girl a chance considering she’s safe to stay put. I am home now but I can’t get the doctors words out my brain! Not ideal considering I need to be calm 😂

anyone else debating overdue induction?
just being a typical first time mum worrier I guess 🤭 (Off to eat a spicy curry 😂)

Jess725 · 11/07/2024 17:24

@AnonymousXXIX hey! I’ve experienced a similar induction push today too. They’ve also booked it in but we’re debating options.

is your bubba doing ok otherwise and you’re feeling happy to wait for labour? Hope you’re ok. I’m really conflicted right now too! X

AnonymousXXIX · 11/07/2024 18:10

Oh sounds so similar to my experience today @Jess725 !

I'm going to talk to my midwife tomorrow. She was totally unconcerned earlier this week, and if I hadn't been in hospital about the baby's position today (which turned out fine) then I wouldn't have had another scan or hospital appointment till 40+5!

Had some time to process, and unless my midwife also expresses concern tmrw I think I'm going to propose my own plan of gentle induction methods next week, with a couple sweeps and maybe cervical check, and then request another hospital appointment on my due date to evaluate where baby and me are at... instead of the induction. I'm fine and baby is fine (if big) so if we're looking at induction then sure.. but not immediately with a hormone drop ON my due date. I felt very much like the consultant was being overly cautious to sort of cover for him (!) self, rather than thinking about me at all. But yeah if my midwife also has concerns I'll reconsider.

Last baby I was also scheduled an induction due to size. But a week after my due date. And baby came before that so we never needed the appointment.

SapphireSeptember · 12/07/2024 00:44

@AnonymousXXIX It is a lovely town and a bit nicer than the town where I currently live. One of my friends lives there and whenever I've been to stay with her it's felt lovely and quiet. Me and my mum were having a nosey on Google maps and there's lots of green spaces, and it's not too far from the high street.

@MixedCouple2 I nearly threw up in Sainsbury's earlier, not fun. Baby is squishing everything up so it's no wonder!

@Jess725 Thank you! 😊 I'm getting a phone call from the lady who's been emailing me in the morning and I need to send over pics or screenshots of proof of address, income and ID. I need someone from work to get my payslips because I can't access them (and like hell am I walking up there when I was struggling to walk to work four months ago, I've had nearly two months off already and it's a struggle to walk up to the shops now.)

For what it's worth I'm avoiding induction. I feel like consultants like to scare women. I'll need to find the exact stats but a lot of midwives opt for home births themselves, because of their knowledge surrounding birth, whereas obstetricians opt for C-sections, because they deal with the scary, highly medicalised side of birth, especially emergencies.

MixedCouple2 · 12/07/2024 07:39

@AnonymousXXIX I had similar experience with DS1 but they thought he was small and that this could happen and that could happen. Told them to sodd off and refused further apts from the Consultant Hospital.
My BIL is an OBGYN been one over 25years and he said they are over reacting. He saw my notes and results.
DS was born 39w5d at 6lbs healthy and fine went into labour naturally.

@SapphireSeptember oh no that would have been embarrassing. Yeah baby has had his legs up in my stomach all the time. Pushing and sticking them out! I been ticking them when he doea it 😂

@Jess725 absolutely fine afterwards. Not like I had any food before I literally got home from shopping and was about to make lunch. I hope that's the last of it but heard it can amp up during labour to. 😅

If no show of DS at the end of 39w I will try natural induction at home. 60ml castor oil. Yoga and exercise and acupressure. I have told Midwives already unleas medically warranted I don't want to speak of medical induction until much much later as that stress can hinder natural labour starting.
