Congratulations @ceruleansky so pleased everything went well for you 😀

Jess725 · 07/07/2024 21:06

@ceruleansky Wonderful news to read 🥰 good work! Hope you are feeling okay ❤️
@wannabe123 sorry for all the timings ❤️ it’s all going to be worth it. Hope you can get some good rest in (and poorly recovering for your little one) before Tuesday

my due date tmrw eeeek 🙃

wannabe123 · 07/07/2024 21:13

@Jess725 thanks 😊 it's my due date tomorrow too! Do you think you'll have a due date baby?

SapphireSeptember · 07/07/2024 22:32

@ceruleansky Congratulations! Glad you and baby are doing well! 💙

My pelvis has been really sore today. Baby is still quite high up. I also think he's practicing for the footy in there. He'll be really still then they're a massive kick. It's like he's doing a penalty shootout with my internal organs! I was getting a bit worried because I hadn't felt him moving much, but I went to church this afternoon and that woke him up (he likes church) and he's moving around in there now. I also asked for a priesthood blessing today as my due date fast approaches!

@Busyhedgehog Sounds like she's comfy in there and doesn't want to shift. Don't blame her!

@wannabe123 Oh that sounds a bit crap. I hope you can go to the hospital you know the most.

@Jess725 Ooh, exciting!

I got the acid reflux medication, it's been so much better today! Tomorrow I need to go to the post office and pick up the slippers that royal mail apparently couldn't deliver as they couldn't find my house! I need those for my hospital bag!

Jess725 · 07/07/2024 23:55

@SapphireSeptember you do need those slippers!! ✌️oh my goodness, so glad the medication is working! It’s quite funny, my dog is currently on omeprazole too and it just seems to do the job for all (and my pup 😂❤️)
@wannabe123 probably not 🤭 she seems pretty cosy. I think I’m experiencing my first braxton hicks right now though and low down cramps and back aches. Just my mind running away from me I think!

Nocoffeenotalkie · 08/07/2024 00:40

Congratulations to everyone whose had their babies! A little flurry of July babies all arriving together.

Anyone else really struggling to sleep? My feet are very swollen and feel extreme restless whenever I try to sleep. Driving me bonkers. Also, had some strong practice contractions (that make me pee every few minutes) but they keep petering out to nothing.

SapphireSeptember · 08/07/2024 02:32

@Jess725 Indeed, I haven't needed Gaviscon all day! Felt a bit sick (and was a bit sick) after eating breakfast this morning but I've been fine since. I ate a load of tomatoes for lunch with some mozzarella and had a big dinner and I've not had any issues!
Definitely need my slippers, I got three pairs because I couldn't decide which ones I wanted. 🤣 And two pairs of plastic slip ons for going in the shower and a pair of bright pink converse style shoes for fun. All on sale or on offer bar one, and I had a money off voucher, so got six pairs of shoes for under £30. (Shoe Zone is dangerous. 😂) At least I'll be kept in slippers for a while. 😊 Good if I need to wash them.

@Nocoffeenotalkie Definitely not sleeping very well! I've become such a night owl! I've had a lot of Braxton Hicks the past few days as well. And my feet are very swollen. I'm wearing men's slip on trainers at the moment for when I go outdoors. They were bloody expensive (my friend bought them for me as she could see I was struggling to get my shoes on and done up) and she said they were ugly! 🤣 I don't care, they're comfy and I can get them on my sausage feet. As my feet are long and skinny I'm used to getting bigger sizes anyway, but had to get men's as they're wider.

I'm still trying to find somewhere to live with baby. Council aren't really helping, but they've told me to stay where I am and keep quiet about baby until he's here. This has made one of my friends very angry on behalf of the landlord for some reason (a company I have nothing to do with as I'm renting via an estate agent.) As long as I'm paying my rent I'm sure they're not going to take personal offence at my baby being here while I find somewhere else to live, even if it's not technically allowed. It all seems a bit overblown on her end. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I know the council are just going to wait till I receive notice and then wait for me to be evicted anyway. I didn't know I was pregnant when I moved in, that was the last thing on my mind!

@ceruleansky awwwe congrats Mama. Well done. And so glad to hear all is going smoothly with nursing! What a relief. Hooe your recovery goes well.

Thanks to you all I managed to collect 1ml of Colostrum over 15hours!!! I am hoping to do 1ml/2ml a day at least to get a few feeds or top ups by the time Baby arrives!
I might use my manual pump to see if that will speed things up.
All I did different was watch this great video 1 (most tutorials tell you to compress and let go right away but this one says hold for 4-5seconds and that is what worked for me - slow long compressions)
Use a warm wheat bag and had lots of fluids sat back and watched some feel good YT videos and made sure I was totally relaxed DS napping and after his bedtime so totally relaxed.

Congratulations to everyone that's had their babies!
And good luck for all who are due this month, wishing you all the best 🥰

I ended up with preeclampsia so my little twinnies came a few days earlier than planned and were born by section on the 28th June! One boy and one girl 💙🩷 4lb13 and 4lb11
Feeling very blessed 🥰

I ended up very poorly with sepsis the day after they were born, due to a UTI I had in pregnancy that didn't clear up and I didn't know! The hospital were amazing and let my husband and babies stay with me for the whole time, so after 8 nights in hospital we finally got home ❤️
Feeling so much better and so grateful 🥰

Hope you are all ok! 🤍

wannabe123 · 08/07/2024 07:28

@User491 congratulations on your twins! Sorry to hear you've been so unwell. Enjoy being home and getting used to your new normal ❤️

SapphireSeptember · 08/07/2024 07:40

@User491 Congratulations! 💐 Aww, twins! That's wonderful. 😍 Sorry you've been so ill, but I'm glad you're feeling better now. 🩵🩷 Thank you for the well wishes too! ☺️

missmoosh · 08/07/2024 09:27

@User491 congratulations on your arrivals! Sorry to hear you had an extended hospital stay but glad you are all home now

Cherubs4 · 08/07/2024 10:12

@User491 congratulations with your babies. Sounds like despite the sepsis you had a lovely experience, that's heartening to hear. Hope it's going well with them both at home!

Oatmilktea · 08/07/2024 10:31

@User491 congratulations on the birth of your twins 🩵🩷. Sorry to hear you were so unwell. I’m glad you’re home now with your babies, it’s the best feeling in the world!

Oh goodness me too! For about two weeks I’m I’ve been up all hours needing a wee!
last night I had cramping (still do!) and needed to get up every, what felt like, ten mins to pee!
how are you feeling now? ❤️

Jess725 · 08/07/2024 11:02

@User491 wow lovely news! Congratulations to you 💛💛💛

@SapphireSeptember oh wow, I’m so sorry to hear that! What are the next steps? Can we brainstorm at all for ya?
Although not in the same position at all! I did move back from living abroad during the pandemic and my god it has been a struggle (even now!)
yay to all the slippers! I’m debating crocs 🤭

Nocoffeenotalkie · 08/07/2024 11:08

@Jess725 fingerscrossed the crocs fit you. I cannot get my feet into mine any more 🤦‍♀️

I'm ok. Lost a large amount of mucus plug this morning so I'm hoping it means those cramps were doing something last night. Still cramping today but very manageable. Really hoping this is the start of labour rather than multiple days of false starts!

AnonymousXXIX · 08/07/2024 11:56

@Nocoffeenotalkie that taking care of little ones YouTube channel taught me that losing your mucus plug is a really good sign of labour starting because it means you're dilating! I had no idea about this. And it explains so much about my last labour, because I had 24 hours of constant contractions, but nothing else - and when I got to hospital I was only 3cm dilated and just starting to lose the mucus plug. For me and my body, I now know not to believe I am in active labour till that thing starts going!

Got half a syringe of colostrum last night 👌 Hoping to start convincing my body to get ready for labour, because it's clearly something that takes mine a very long time. Also planning to ask my midwife this week about induction options in case I go super late. I just instinctively know that I need to take it slow and easy, so I wonder what things they can try, and how long for, before switching to any artificial medications. I don't want it to be a case of... oh shit we're at 42 weeks so BAM hospital admission and hormone drip ramped up to the highest level.

SapphireSeptember · 08/07/2024 22:48

@Jess725 I don't know. Just sit tight I suppose and hope for the best. If anyone has a better idea I'm all ears (or eyes.) 😊
Crocs definitely sound like a good idea!
Moving countries sounds like an awful lot of hard work, sorry to hear your struggling even now. 💐

@Nocoffeenotalkie Ooh, sounds like things are afoot! Very exciting!

SapphireSeptember · 09/07/2024 07:24

How have I only just found out about disposable maternity knickers? Ingenious!

Nocoffeenotalkie · 09/07/2024 07:40

@SapphireSeptember I lost more plug throughout the day but that's all. No other labour signs. All practice contractions stopped too. My section date is edging ever closer too.

wannabe123 · 09/07/2024 08:35

@Nocoffeenotalkie I have lost my plug and had loads of contractions yesterday. Some were every 10 minutes and then there would be a 30-45 minute gap. Everything fizzled out overnight. I'm booked in for induction today so have to ring labour ward at 9:15 to find out when to go in. I had a sweep yesterday and the midwife said there's a chance they might just be able to break my waters straight away so fingers crossed the contractions last night did something before they disappeared

missmoosh · 09/07/2024 16:18

@wannabe123 good luck for your induction!

Amberellaella · 09/07/2024 17:19

Yes, good luck @wannabe123! And don’t forget the earplugs and eye mask so you can sleep in the hosp if you do need the 24 hour pessary 😂

wannabe123 · 09/07/2024 17:25

I've got dilapan rods in and they will be in until about 6am unless I go into labour first. They could come out at 2am but they said they usually wait so I can sleep. Feeling pain low down which I think is just the rods doing their thing. Very quiet on the ward thankfully - hoping it stays that way!
