Catching up on the last 3/4 pages.

colostrum: the first 5 times I tried, nothing. Last night got one drop from each side which felt like a massive achievement. Will keep trying to see how it goes.

perineum massage: I can’t quite reach with bump! 🤣 can manage to get one thumb in, not sure how to reach and get both hands in. Will check out the little ones video. Thank you to whoever recommended that.

@ceruleansky thinking of you. Hope all is well.

@Amberellaella @Savvy21 @justanotherlaura CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Hope you’re all doing well! So exciting all these new babies!

Bali200 · 06/07/2024 06:58

Congratulations on the new arrivals @Amberellaella @Savvy21 @justanotherlaura 🎊🎊🎊 hope you are all doing well, enjoy the newborn cuddles 🥰 makes me so excited for my girl to arrive although I am having ZERO signs of early labour and I’m full of a stinking cold - just what you need at 39+5 😅

I started colostrum harvesting two nights ago (late to the party I know), and over the past two nights have managed to collect 0.3ml in total which I’m quite happy with. Would have had a bit more but I kept losing some out of the syringe 😪

Hope everything is okay @ceruleansky - have you been given any more updates?

AnonymousXXIX · 06/07/2024 08:59

I already regularly eat dates @ceruleansky ! In my breakfast and as a snack (to avoid biscuits haha). Did nothing last pregnancy :( but one of those things that can't cause harm anyway right!

ceruleansky · 06/07/2024 09:03

@AnonymousXXIX
Ahh sorry, my bad! 😭 it was the first thing that came to mind! Yes they are quite healthy but a little high in sugar, only need to be wary if you have GD..

@HereAtlonglast @Bali200
I'm okay so far, thank you! Yesterday's growth scan showed everything was on track. No bleeding from placenta so it's functioning well. My usual gynaec has been away on a trip and she will be back this evening.
Once I meet her we will decide what happens next. I've expressed my desire to be discharged since I've been admitted for 3 days, just being monitored and I feel fine.
One of the other doctors was pushing for a c section but I want to wait a while, since I'm not in any pain and baby is fine.

ceruleansky · 06/07/2024 15:29

Guys I'm having the baby tomorrow morning. They don't want to risk it. Please keep us in your prayers. I wasn't expecting it, I thought I would be able to go home, but it is what it is. Baby is 5lb or so.

Amberellaella · 06/07/2024 15:34

Awww, @ceruleansky very best of luck! You’ll both be in our thoughts tomorrow x

PS fwiw my DD was only 6lb 2 at term and she was/ is fine x

missmoosh · 06/07/2024 15:35

@ceruleansky thinking of you, your are in the right place and they know what they are doing! I think you are a couple days behind me and everything I have read said baby is likely to be healthy coming out now, so hopefully that’s reassuring ❤️ let us know how you get on and hopefully you can rest up before the morning!

AnonymousXXIX · 06/07/2024 16:37

Good luck @ceruleansky!

wannabe123 · 06/07/2024 16:39

@ceruleansky good luck for tomorrow

Cherubs4 · 06/07/2024 17:02

@ceruleansky good luck tomorrow. As the others have said, you're in the best and safest place.

Thank you to whoever posted about Care About Little Ones. Have been watching their videos and it really helps. Have a very visible purple line so am definitely dilated. Getting so nervous now!

@Amberellaella @Savvy21 @justanotherlaura congratulations with your new arrivals 🐣 lovely news

Morningcoffeeaddict · 06/07/2024 17:49

@ceruleansky - good luck tomorrow! As others have said you’re in the best place and they know what they’re doing. Your little one is at a really good gestation too and not a bad weight at all! DS1 was only 4lb when they let us bring him home and he’s absolutely fine

wannabe123 · 06/07/2024 19:21

Quietly having freaking out. I'm 39+5 and booked in for an induction on Tuesday due to very big baby. My 3 year old has been ill all day and was sick just before bed and now I think I've started to lose my mucus plug. Timing is excellent 🤦🏼‍♀️🫠 I would definitely rather avoid induction but could do without having a poorly child too! Poor son never gets illnesses from nursery so his timing is impeccable!

SapphireSeptember · 07/07/2024 01:39

@ceruleansky Oh darling. Best wishes for tomorrow. 💙

@wannabe123 That is impeccable timing. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Hope your DS is alright and you don't need an induction.

ceruleansky · 07/07/2024 11:02

Thank you for the kind wishes! 😊
Baby boy arrived safely and was 6.6lb. He is so perfect 😍 healthy with a loud cry, and latched easily. My supply is also really good!
I'm doing well. The c section procedure was very in and out, really swift. Just keeping up with the pain killers and so far I haven't walked yet. Taking it slow.

Busyhedgehog · 07/07/2024 11:23

@ceruleansky Congratulations on your baby boy. 🥳 Glad it all worked out OK. Hope you'll recover quickly.

I'm 38 weeks now and would like the young lady to make an appearance. I've had enough now and this pregnancy seems to have been dragging on forever. My OB/GYN sees no reason to do anything for the moment since everything is looking fine. She's happy for me to go over by 10 days, if needed. If DS is anything to go by, she'll stay holed up in there until they forcefully drag her out. 🤦‍♀️
One more week until the summer holidays.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 07/07/2024 11:29

@wannabe123 - hope all is ok and that your son feels better very soon. Babies have no interest in our schedules do they!

@ceruleansky - congratulations! Sounds wonderful, very happy for you that baby boy is here safely and feeding well. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

wannabe123 · 07/07/2024 13:02

Congratulations @ceruleansky glad it all went well and the little one is happy and healthy 🙂

Thank you @Morningcoffeeaddict he's doing a bit better today but still not quite himself

Oatmilktea · 07/07/2024 13:09

@ceruleansky congratulations! I’m glad everything went smoothly for you. I hope you have a good recovery and enjoy all the newborn snuggles!

@ceruleansky amazing news congratulations ❤️

Cherubs4 · 07/07/2024 15:58

Good news @ceruleansky , glad baby is there and healthy.

40+3 today, looking foward to having my own baby in my arms asap.

@wannabe123 how are the cramps etc today?

AnonymousXXIX · 07/07/2024 16:07

Yay congrats @ceruleansky !

Amberellaella · 07/07/2024 16:43

Congratulations @ceruleansky! glad to hear you and baby are both doing well x

Bali200 · 07/07/2024 16:46

Congratulations @ceruleansky, glad you and baby boy are both doing well 🩵

wannabe123 · 07/07/2024 16:48

@Cherubs4 not really had any cramps but definitely lost my mucus plug this morning! Hoping something starts soon. I was going to have a sweep this morning but labour ward are too busy and are sending inductions to a different hospital. I've been warned this might happen to me on Tuesday or the induction will be cancelled. Not keen on the uncertainty of that and would rather not go to the other hospital - haven't been there since I was a child having braces 😂
