@Welshgal85 how many weeks are you now? Good luck with your scan!
I haven’t got much pressure yet (32+2) but tmi I’m very swollen there! So there is clearly a fair bit of pressure! Along with the charming piles and constipation my nether regions are in a bad way 😂😂😂

Savvy21 · 03/06/2024 19:53

@Welshgal85 - I don't mind the peppermint so I drink it as part of cleaning my teeth 😆
@Jess725 ooo honey and oat milk. I'll give that a try - have caught a cold so the honey should be good for the cough too. I miss lemsip decongestants!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 03/06/2024 19:56

@Welshgal85 - the kicked in the crotch feeling is very familiar! Getting very uncomfortable down there - feel like I need to be reclined all the time otherwise I’m being punched in the crotch and kicked in the ribs by a grumpy baby running out of space!

Welshgal85 · 03/06/2024 20:32

@missmoosh I’m 32+1 😊

@Morningcoffeeaddict It’s just come on since end of last week, all underneath at the front feels really achy and sore constantly. Feeling hormonal and sorry for myself today! 😂

Morningcoffeeaddict · 03/06/2024 20:40

@Welshgal85 - with you on hormonal and sorry for myself. Just standing up long enough to do bath and bedtime with DS1 this evening had me feeling hot and achey (legs and crotch) so I dispatched DH for a Chinese takeaway as I’m refusing to stand up any longer or cook.

Jess725 · 03/06/2024 21:17

@Savvy21 feel better!! 😢

ceruleansky · 04/06/2024 04:21

The thread moved so fast.. I think I lost some messages.
32 weeks today 😳 I've been having lightning crotch since I woke up. And can feel pressure increasing down there. Kinda freaking out that it could be any time between now and 8 weeks. I don't have a single thought about birth or a birth plan. Just leaving it to the last minute and baby's weight and position.

@MixedCouple
Saw your post and this was one of the things I was advised: not to take iron supplements with milk, milk can be had an hour before or after the supplement.
I take iron in the morning and night, and calcium in the afternoon. Both of those can't mix or they become ineffective..

ceruleansky · 04/06/2024 04:25

Sophie3003 · 29/05/2024 22:24

@ceruleansky this was my first baby. I ended up having increasing attacks of agonising cramps, screaming and it completely took it out of me and made me ill- this went on for a few weeks. I was admitted to hospital however they couldn't scan me until 6 weeks so discharged me and I just had to try and live with it which was hard as was so unwell and could barely even walk. I cannot even tell you how bad it all was. Convinced something terrible was going to happen and they were very convinced baby was ectopic. Why this happened I have no idea! Daughter is now 3.5 years and completely fine. She has been much better post pregnancy than she was when I was pregnant!

I'm sorry you had to go through that, that sounds really scary. I remember horrible cramps, worse than period cramps but not like what you described.
I hope they gave you something for the pain.. glad that things turned out better later on.

Hi Everyone! Hope you're all doing ok.
I posted way back in the early days, and then got very distracted with DD and going back to work after first mat leave ended.

Struggling a lot more with hip pain, bump size and general tiredness this pregnancy. My DD is 13 months, and has become extremely clingy the last couple of weeks, and waking during the night again with teething pain.

I am 32 weeks today. 31 week midwife appointment was measuring 4 weeks ahead, so was sent for a scan and GD test, but all seems to be ok - I'm just huge and really feeling it.

I am absolutely rubbish at keeping up with this thread - has anyone moved to a WhatsApp group yet? The April 2023 group with my daughter did, and was much easier to keep track of.. and nice to message in early hours once babies were here. 😊

I’d be up for joining a WhatsApp group if there’s one!

HereAtlonglast · 04/06/2024 08:32

Thinking of those who are in/going into hospital. Hope all is well.

I went in last weekend as couldn’t feel baby move. Everything is fine and my little minx started a having a party the moment I got back home! 🤣 The staff at the hospital were lovely and kept telling me I had done the right thing to go in. If anyone has any doubts, do just go in!!! Hope that helps!

hopingfor23 · 04/06/2024 10:32

Also happy to be in a WhatsApp group x

Sophie3003 · 04/06/2024 10:39

And me too (I don't have Facebook etc) x

Oatmilktea · 04/06/2024 10:44

Also happy to join a WhatsApp group!

@HereAtlonglast glad everything was ok and I’m glad the staff were reassuring that it’s absolutely fine to go in!

Anyone tech savvy?!! I'm clueless x

appleandcheese · 04/06/2024 11:21

I'm happy to set a WhatsApp group up. Will need all those interested to direct message me with phone numbers. I think it only lets you do that on the web version, rather than the app.
I am on holiday atm though, so won't be for a few days ☺️

missmoosh · 04/06/2024 13:33

@appleandcheese ahh excellent! Let us know when you are back from holiday and I will send you my number 😊

bringmearainbow · 04/06/2024 13:39

WhatsApp group sounds so much easier to keep track 😂 @appleandcheese I have sent you my number but I think you can also post a link to the group in the thread. Other baby groups I've been on in the past have posted a link somehow

missmoosh · 04/06/2024 13:57

Question for the group!
How many sleepsuits and vests are you packing in your hospital bag for little one? I’m lost hahah, don’t know if to pack long sleeve vests for under a sleepsuit as well, or stick with short sleeved ones… given it’s going to be end of July when she’s due.. help I’m so clueless on what babies even need to wear! 😂😂

bringmearainbow · 04/06/2024 13:58

@missmoosh I have decided on 4 babygrows and 4 short sleeve vests in each size of newborn and 0-3

justanotherlaura · 04/06/2024 14:32

My midwife gave me this sample list, I'm going to base mine on this. I'm also making a second bag to leave at home in case I have to stay in for longer than one night, saves having to take everything and he just has to grab the bag

Due July 2024 - part 4
appleandcheese · 04/06/2024 16:12

@bringmearainbow thank you! I'll pop a group together once I have a few through. My only concern about posting a link is getting other random weirdos join. Plus not sure how to.. but I'll look into it an ld try and make it as secure as possible. ☺️

missmoosh · 04/06/2024 16:28

@justanotherlaura ahh that list is excellent thank you! Somehow we only have one newborn sleepsuit 😂 I have packed that and a couple 0-1 months for now. Looks like I need to go out for a couple more sleepsuits and cardigans in newborn size!
We also have a ridiculous amount of long sleeved 0-3 month vests, which we have been gifted so I’m hoping aren’t totally useless if the weather is warm when she’s that size!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 04/06/2024 18:03

@missmoosh - the way the weather is up and down at the moment I’m sure you will get chance to use the long sleeve vests!

@Jess725 - thanks for sharing the list, that’s really helpful!

@appleandcheese thanks for agreeing to set up the WA group - I’ll send you my number in a bit!

wannabe123 · 04/06/2024 18:25

@missmoosh long sleeve vests are sometimes useful for night sleep in the warmer weather or with just a pair of shorts over - at least that's what I must have done looking back at pictures

Oatmilktea · 05/06/2024 08:42

Feeling grateful for the NHS this morning. I’m on a Vasa Praevia support group which has members from all over the world on it. Women with vasa praevia tend to have a 2-4 week hospital stay before their c section and the babies can need a short while in NICU as they’re born at 34 weeks on average.

There’s a discussion on the page at the moment asking how much the hospital stay and NICU cost members in America. Answers are ranging anywhere from $250k all the way up to $1.3 million for a woman who had twins. Their health insurance covers a lot of it but not all of it and most are saying they’re about $12k out of pocket.

As much as I moan about the food not being great in here and the building being run down etc I am just so grateful not having to pay ridiculous prices like that!!!
