I think today has actually been the worst day. The constant nausea moved to my first time being sick so far and I haven’t felt any better since.

RedRobyn2021 · 14/05/2024 15:32

It's been quiet here, how is everyone getting along?

I've been loads better since hospital, but exhausted, I had a 2 hour nap whilst my dd was at preschool this morning

Luckily my mum has come over to walk my dog and DD this afternoon, so I'm back in bed with my audiobook

Aardbeien · 14/05/2024 18:04

I've been having terrible dreams and my emotions are all over the place. I feel sick of everything that's bringing me stress. I've also got pimples presumably because of the hormones because I normally don't get them.

I'm desperately hanging on for the "glowing" part of pregnancy to begin.

Nameday24 · 14/05/2024 18:33

Hey everyone, hope you don't mind if I join this thread! I have been reading through the previous thread too but was scared to join in case anything went wrong (had 3 misscarriages over the last year 😞). I am now officially 10+1 weeks along and everything seems to be progressing well. I had a 7 week scan and we saw the heartbeat so started getting excited!!

This will be my first baby so didn't really know what to expect. The nausea and sickness have been horrible. I have been given medication from my gp but don't seem to help much. I am also taking progesterone which seems to contribute to the nausea. I am really hoping the nausea goes away in the next few weeks so I can properly enjoy the pregnancy and indulge in all the cravings!!

Hope you are all keeping well 🤍

I felt pretty good near the end of my second trimester first time round. I felt a lot of confidence in my body and a lot of "fuck off" energy (for want of a better term).

I don't know about glowing but I cared a lot less what people thought which was quite liberating.

I'm sorry for your previous losses but Congratulations on your healthy little bean!

Yes it's funny isn't it, we're grateful to be pregnant but pregnancy isn't something I have ever enjoyed, it's hard work.

I wish you could press a button and just have the baby

Plodding along, my nausea and morning sickness have gotten worse. Finally got my booking in appointment date and my scans booked but hopefully not while we’re on holiday. I’m going try and ring the Gp for an appointment. My indigestion is so bad. I wonder what it feels like to
have chilled pregnancy where I can eat and do things without feeling like death.

RedRobyn2021 · 15/05/2024 11:54

@MissMadam that is something I can only dream of unfortunately!

How many weeks are you? I had my booking appointment today, I didn't realise because last time it was a telephone appointment due to covid, but they take blood! So there's a heads up for you. After the hospital stay I am thoroughly fed up of needles.

I’m 8+5, I had DS in 2021 and they took blood for my booking in. My Scan dates literally just came in the post and it’s just after my holiday so that’s perfect. Ughh I was on Fragmin with DS really not looking forward to that part. Weirdly I’m at a different hospital than expected. Even though it’s in the same county and I moved to the 30mins away. I won’t be having a baby there though. That hospital has a bad reputation and the CQC rating is poor.

Bailem · 15/05/2024 13:45

@MissMadam Those fragmin injections ughh forgot about that bit!

I've got my scan on Monday! A bit earlier than 12 weeks at 11+5. I'm looking forward to being able to tell DD and not have the secret to ourselves.

Suffering really bad with anxiety at the moment. Hoping it passes but it's making it difficult for me to really connect to this pregnancy. Hopefully I'll feel better after Monday.

RedRobyn2021 · 17/05/2024 06:36

How are everyone's energy levels?

Not sure if it's a side effect of the HG but I have been exhausted. My mum has been helping with my daughter, I've been virtually bed bound and needing a nap in the day. Then on an evening I'll go to sleep when my daughter does between 6:30 and 7

Haven't slept this much since I was last pregnant

Also completely exhausted all the time. Falling asleep after a meal, on the bus after work, just randomly finding myself asleep on a day off, and feeling sick and drowsy if I don't allow myself to sleep. I thought it was the type 1 diabetes that made me so tired but maybe we're all going through it after all

MissMadam · 18/05/2024 14:18

Ughh trying not to freak out as I’ve just noticed some brown blood on my undies. I’m just going to wait and see till Monday.

Ive just been diagnosed with GD a few weeks ago and been put on insulin and ive got a brand new respect for anyone who deals with this all the time! Im not sure of what the difference is with how type 1 and GD is treated, is there much difference? Are you on multiple daily injections? Any tips for someone who is finding the injections hard? 😊

There's quite a bit of differences actually! If you're interested there's definitely information online you can look up. I do take insulin in multiple daily doses. Make sure you're following all the advice you've hopefully got from doctors. Change the needles every time and take care of yourself, it's hard!

I've been type 1 since I was 4 so I'd say I'm used to it, but you never do get used to it, it'll always been a balancing act you feel like you're barely not failing act.

Just keep doing your best, make sure to reach out to your medical professionals. Remember you just need to do this until baby arrives, that all your hard work is just an extra step to growing baby and once baby is born you should recover from the diabetes side of things quickly. That's something I'll never get, once baby is out I will still be struggling with the ups and downs for the rest of my life. But I'm not bitter over it, I'm just happy for the people who can recover from it.

Oh not at all, I just ended up over explaining in detail, if anything I hope I was able to give even a little advice! I'll keep you in my thoughts for a smooth pregnancy 😊

It went away after Saturday. I had my booking in appointment today. The midwife didn’t think it was anything to worry about.

I’m going to be monitored by the diabetic midwives because I had GD before. I’m also getting extra growth scans because DS was really tiny when he was born.

catmumma84 · 20/05/2024 20:19

@MissMadam thats good to hear 😊 wishing everything well xx

Bailem · 21/05/2024 12:14

I've had my 12 week scan, they've brought my date forward to the 1st Dec so just in December still 😊

Feels real now, was lovely to see. I feel like it's done me the world of good, it's made me more excited about this pregnancy seeing little bean moving and growing.

DD was over the moon and it's nice to start sharing our news, it was getting harder to keep it to ourselves x

RedRobyn2021 · 21/05/2024 14:17

Congratulations @Bailem sounds like you had a lovely scan

RedRobyn2021 · 22/05/2024 05:17

Another problem I've had the last 2 weeks, no matter what time I go to bed (although I normally go to bed at 6:30/7 atm) I wake at 5am. I wish I could just make it to 6 😩

catmumma84 · 22/05/2024 20:16

I’m feeling absolutely horrific guys, no physical vomiting but nausea all day everyday it feels like ground hog day or a hangover :( any tips on how you relieve?
and any positive stories of when people’s sickness lifted? I’ve heard it’s supposed to get better once the placenta is working but I’ve seen anywhere between 11-20 weeks for that :( praying for the former xx
(edit I’ll be 9 weeks on Saturday. 8+4 atm)

Lucylaughing · 22/05/2024 21:15

@catmumma84 I'm the same, I'm 9 weeks now. I've had an awful headache almost constantly as well, so definitely feels like a never ending rotten hangover along with the fatigue. The only thing that seems to be helping is just to eat a little bit here and there almost constantly so my belly is never empty. Even if it's just one cracker or two jelly babies; it seems to be helping
