It is really hard to tell with cyclogest. I am taking cyclogest vaginally from week 2 (ivf) and luckily I don't have any spotting (i am 8w3 atm, so the heartbeats a few days ago, so hopefully everything is still good). I did hear that it can irritate the cervix and also that spotting can happen in healthy pregnancy too. It is hard, because it is supposed to suppress any bleeding, but it didn't do that at all for me at one of my unsuccessful ivf transfer. Besides, it also causes some pregnancy symptoms, so I keep second guessing what is happening. So in short, it is hard to tell what is caused and/or prevented by cyclogest.

Anyone getting low BP at 6 weeks

reimah · 02/06/2024 21:26

Hi all

I’m 8+1 today.
My belly is so big and bloated already that my belly button is already sticking out??

WanzieMrsA · 02/06/2024 21:30

I hope this helps somebody with symptoms anxiety!

I've been feeling fine, almost too fine 🤣 like I feel sick from time to time but it doesn't last long. My tiredness is just your normal tired from being a mum, nothing bad. I have no food cravings, if anything I'd say my appetite was smaller than usual.

Anyway was a bit worried as my first pregnancy with my son I felt like a hungry ravenous sicky pig from day 1

I had an early scan today at 6.1 and she said everything looks great at this stage. Little heartbeat.

She said I ovulated from my left ovary which I find fascinating because I thought I did but wasn't sure if it was just wind 🙈

CadoAvo · 02/06/2024 22:18

@gardenlady1 @DaringlyDizzy thanks for checking in ladies. The scan didn't go well, baby was only measuring 5 weeks when should be 7+4. Called EPU on Friday morning who were absolutely useless but are going to call me back tomorrow. Anyway, I definitely am having a miscarriage, it's all been passing over the weekend, there's no mistaking especially since my last miscarriage was at the same stage. But really I'm okay.

Wishing everyone healthy and happy pregnancies 💕

You poor thing. Is there a possibility that you might be having twins? It would explain the extreme nausea. Glad you are feeling better!

God honestly this hadn't occured to me at all - it's my first pregnancy! If I am, I'll probably drop dead of shock. I have my appointment on June 27, will report back if your psychic powers are correct (cannot lie, I hope not!) x

LS888 · 03/06/2024 01:20

@CadoAvo sending lots of love. Sorry to hear you are going through this again after a previous miscarriage. Hope you have some support at home and are getting some TLC xx

For those worried about disappearing symptoms - it's totally normal.

I'm at 9 weeks 2 days and I feel tons better. Almost no nausea and tiredness. Only thing I have is sore boobs and the beginnings of a bump! I was at my worst from 6.5 weeks to 8.5 weeks (constant nausea, retching without being sick, crazy food aversions, dizziness, tiredness).

LS888 · 03/06/2024 09:21

@WonderingAboutBabies hopefully the symptoms ease for me in a few weeks then. I’m currently 6 weeks and 5 days and woke up feeling really grotty. I’ve retched a few times brushing my teeth but haven’t been sick. And feeling really tired. I forgot how hard this part of being pregnant is. My 10 month old daughter is sleeping now and I haven’t got the energy to do anything.

This has given me hope. I'm absolutely miserable, I feel so so sick constantly, can't move without retching for no reason. Can barely eat. I feel bad complaining because I know others would be wishing to feel like I do now but it has been getting me down the past week. I feel so useless I can't do anything. I'm 8+2 now and I'm praying it will ease off next week. Don't remember being this sick the other two times but I had youth on my side then so that may have helped! Also scared my teeth will fall out as they've been getting such a rubbish brushing, I only have to think about the toothbrush to set me off.

MrsLully · 03/06/2024 13:39

@CubandPug I had HG with my second and I totally relate to the toothbrush aversion. What I found worked for me was rubbing a wedge of lemon around my mouth when I couldn't stomach the toothbrush. Also peppermint chewing gum if my stomach would allow it. If you can, swirl with antibacterial solution, but that was difficult for me too.
When the sickness goes away you can always get a really good professional clean and you'll feel loads better. Do what you can to survive for now xxx

Edited

With in my first pregnancy, I couldn’t brush myself without retching and occasionally throwing up from it. It’s the same this time too 🥴

Things that helped were using a manual toothbrush as I found my electric toothbrush made me gag. I had to swap to children’s toothpaste at one stage too, probably not ideal but I could at least brush my teeth decently without gagging. The best thing was being in the shower and brushing my teeth, think the shower distracted me and helped.

It’s truly is the worst symptom 😥

Violet1988 · 03/06/2024 18:11

Wouldn't lemon be bad for your enamel? I'm brushing with the electric toothbrush but on the lowest setting and also using my children's milder toothpaste.

I’m feeling very similar to you, I am 9 weeks today. I felt absolutely rotten last week, it definitely peaked for me then I think. I am still pretty exhausted this week but nowhere near as nauseous.

I am a little worried as I have had some slightly yellow discharge today. I had a MC in November and it started with brown discharge so I am panicking a bit that it could be the start of that. Has anyone here had yellow discharge in pregnancy? It has no odour and no itchiness so I don’t feel like it’s an infection - it’s not very dark and no change in consistency just not usual for me.

Hi ladies - do you have any tips or tactics for explaining (or hiding) not drinking from friends and colleagues?

I'm not telling anyone yet, but have a work event and a holiday coming up and I'm not sure how I'm going to avoid getting rumbled!

It was Covid for my last pregnancy so it just wasn't an issue.

You can pretend you are on a health kick and that you have decided to steer clear of alcohol for xyz amount of days/weeks.. etc

I'm similar and I will find it extremely difficult to hide it especially now with summer clothes! I am overweight so I think it might be down to this but I certainly never expected to 'show' so early!!

m8ybeb8by · 03/06/2024 21:55

Hi all

I'm due on 18th January. I am 7weeks and 2 days

My symptoms have been tiredness, bloating, burping and peeing a lot more. Luckily enough my nausea lasted a few days - if that!

I have my viability scan on Friday and after 2 miscarriages I feel anxious but hopeful that this is the one.

My main stress is my job in the city. I don't know how people with demanding jobs which requires you to be giving 150percent and long hours can be pregnant

Any tips on how to manage this first trimester whilst managing a demanding job requiring up to 12 hours a day?

Gentle congratulations ♥️
I also have a stressful job as a manager so I have to be fully present but come the afternoon I need matchsticks to prop my eyelids open! Luckily I only do the standard 9-5 but last night I was oncall and it didn’t stop til 11pm 😭 it’s hard isn’t it.
keep us posted on your scan please x

Hi @m8ybeb8by I'm in the same boat and it's just hard, you had my sympathy. I'm wondering how I managed this with my first pregnancy because the long hours and high stress and periodic nausea and exhaustion are just hard to manage. To cope I've:

  • lowered my standards a bit. I focus on getting things done, presenting as I can and keeping an eye on the lowest level I can deliver. It's not the moment to win any prizes.
  • trying to mentally detach a bit - at least for a few weeks. Having a bit of a performance lull is no big deal, and in all likelihood won't even register with others or appear in your numbers (depending what you do of course)
  • keeping an opaque keep-cup or similar at your desk so if you need to be sick, you have an option.
  • I found it helpful to think of middle aged men going through divorces/having breakdowns and how often people don't see they are neglecting work for ages. It's probably the same with pregnant women, haha - not sure if that will provide the same comfort to you, but it used to help me.

I just found out it's twins this time around, so I'm panicking a bit (both because it's a lot to get my head around and because the symptoms are going to be twice as bad). I have a big presentation in a few weeks and worried I'm going to throw up in front of a big crowd.

Good luck - you'll get through it. Everyone muddles through!!

Hello, I'm 8 weeks 5 days today and have been getting discharge the last 2 days. I had a MC earlier this year but am further along now than I was then. And I had a scan last week so I'm trying to just relax until my 12 week scan now. Hope you're okay!

TerryRose · 04/06/2024 15:39

I have my first scan next week 11 weeks . Only symptoms are nausea and tiredness but the nausea has eased off. I'll be going into the scan on my own as I think that's hospital procedure but I'm starting to feel nervous so might double check .
