I stopped testing on 6 weeks partially because I went away on holiday and partially because the nausea and sickness has now set in

I’m 6+3 and if I think the nausea is kicking in.. haven’t had anything to eat this morning and my mouth did that watery thing when you want to be sick, IYKWIM.

I might do another test today but want to book an early scan around 8 weeks to double check it’s all going in the right direction, however, they are all £90 around me! Feels so expensive, especially as we only paid £45 when I was pregnant with my first in 2021?!

ohpoowhatnow · 17/05/2024 09:14

Hi can I join ? I'm 5 weeks today with my second, first is 18 months. Thanks !

Sarah268 · 17/05/2024 09:36

@BeLemonQuoter @Ttcagainnow @Newhere1993
It's all good advice. I need to tell myself that testing won't change the outcome!

I'm away this weekend so I'm not going to test, then maybe once a week til I get a scan. EPU said I could come back around 7 weeks if I conceived again so that's my focus right now!

The stress is crazy but at the same time it doesn't even feel real yet.

Lemonyfire · 17/05/2024 09:40

@Sarah268 congratulations! We are due around the same. I'm 4 +5. It was me that asked about the testing 😂 I think if you can avoid over testing it will do you the world of good. I feel so much happier and more relaxed this time round. Testing constantly and analysing lines didn't change the outcome for me, and didn't prepare me either I just spent 6 weeks in a ball of anxiety until my miscarriage.
I'm just counting down to my scan at 6.5 weeks 🙌🏻

belleissmart · 17/05/2024 10:48

According to the date of my last period, I'm five weeks and due Jan 18. Mad. Honestly the main sympton has been breathlesness for me - I've found it hard walking to the station in the morning! Otherwise just tired and a bit achey. Great excuse for me to bugger all this weekend and watch Bridgerton!

SunflowerDream · 17/05/2024 11:29

@belleissmart I'm 6+4 and have been struggling with breathlessness like crazy! I feel like I have every pregnancy symptom now but that only kicked in this week. Every pregnancy is so different though so if you don't develop nausea etc., I wouldn't worry, I would count yourself lucky😂

belleissmart · 17/05/2024 12:06

@SunflowerDream You poor thing!! Yeah, I feel like the nausea will kick in on the sixth week but very, very happy if it doesn't. What a wild ride!!

Firsttimetrier · 17/05/2024 12:08

I think my nausea is starting to kick in, mainly if I move too much. Just quickly put a load of washing on in between meetings and the bending down/standing up etc has made me feel a bit sea sick.

Newhere1993 · 17/05/2024 12:17

@SunflowerDream your completely right everyone's so different! I have a friend at 13 weeks and only symptom was a missed period and a bit of cramps and scans are all fine. Whilst I'm sat here with my head down the toilet.

But congratulations to everyone whose joined over the last few days!

Mama2b99 · 17/05/2024 12:35

Guys when did your symptoms kick in with first pregnancies?

I'm almost 5 weeks and nothing but some fatigue during the afternoon!

Chocolate12345678 · 17/05/2024 13:00

I'm due 15th January all being well

Around the 6 week mark! And looks like the same this time. I’m 6+3 and getting real waves of sickness when I’m hungry or moving about too quickly.

Sarah268 · 17/05/2024 13:51

@Chocolate12345678 congrats! :)

I had breathlessness and feeling hot straight away but have had nothing else. I run and suddenly this week I've just felt SO out of breathe and like I was running through treacle. Same when I walk the dog, I just suddenly get so hot.

Hi all, I'm due #3 January 10th with quite a big age gap so still warming up to the idea of doing it all again, but am happy overall once everything is ok! 6weeks now and nausea and tiredness have ramped up, I'm obviously older this time around so that may be contributing but my energy is very low! Terrified of the nausea ramping up and trying to work at the same time but hopefully it will be only short-lived! Have booked NIPT test for ten weeks and will be scanned then. Anyone else doing NIPT? I didn't do it in my previous pregnancies but conscious of increased risks now I'm a bit older so I'm hoping it will put my mind at ease slightly.

CatLady1994 · 17/05/2024 14:14

I'm starting to get a couple of symptoms now - biggest one is that I'm extremely thirsty! I was lucky to not really get morning sickness with DS1 (just minor nausea) but was exhausted and going to bed at about 7:30pm from week 6 onwards, so expecting that to kick in soon.

DaringlyDizzy · 17/05/2024 16:11

Now 4 weeks+1 so early days still but got a strong positive finally. Going to stop testing until my seven week scan

Yup going to do the test , did it last time as well as just want to know, found out gender last time as well from the test but not sure if going to do it this time . The tiredness is another level, my doctor said to accept the tiredness and not to fight it .

I've never found out the gender, I have two the same but tbh I probably won't this time either even though I'm more tempted than previously! When I was having my first NIPT didn't exist I don't think and it was very new having my second but definitely have friends etc who have done it now and I always think the more you know the better so decided I'll do it this time despite the eye watering cost!

Yeah I know the tiredness won't last the whole time but it's shocked me how exhausted I am, had forgotten that part, anyway I had a quick nap on my lunch break today as was working from home which definitely helped get me through.

Lemonyfire · 17/05/2024 20:42

@CubandPug I also have a reasonable size age gap and am a bit older now than when I had my first!
I was 24 when I had #1 and he will be 12 when baby is born, I was 27 when I had #2 and she will be 9 and I'm now 36

What's your gap out of interest?

Summerrose24 · 18/05/2024 00:11

This is my 3rd pregnancy and I have booked the NIPT for the first time this time too, at 10 weeks, (my girls 5 and 3). They said the NIPT includes a scan, for those who have had it before do you think this would be OK to have this as my 1st scan as a viability scan, or would it be better to have had a scan before this to check things are ok? I'm not sure what kind of scan you get with NIPT.

Sarahclairee · 18/05/2024 06:20

@Lemonyfire I had my 1st when I was 23 and she will be 11 when I have this baba & I will be 34!

Lemonyfire · 18/05/2024 07:10

@Sarahclairee very similar then 😍

Sarahclairee · 18/05/2024 07:24

@Lemonyfire yes🫶🏼 she will make the best big sister, I know having a sibling will be the best thing we will ever give her but it doesn’t stop me being sad that she won’t be my only baby anymore! Hope I’m not the only one feeling like this🫣

Marney12 · 18/05/2024 08:03

Morning everyone! Joining now at 5+4 as I have had my scan at the EPU to confirm everything is in the right place (due to my history and high risk of ectopic). We saw the gestational sac and the yolk sac so keeping everything crossed there’s a little embryo growing in there!

I had a bit of cramping overnight which has got me a little worried - I haven’t had any until now. Anyone else?
