Does anyone else around 5 weeks have bad lower back pain? I feel like this is my only symptom now and I'm finding it hard not to think it's going to turn into a miscarriage again.

I am 5wk 5dys and had lower back pain, but it went away after a little walk. I don't think it means anything bad on its own. It could be just me sitting in a bad position all day or widening hip

MaybeBaby2024 · 15/05/2024 08:45

@Ttcagainnow yes I am intermittently getting back pain as well. But as previous poster said it could just be ligaments etc loosening.

Ttcagainnow · 15/05/2024 09:03

Thanks all! It's reassuring. Praying this is a sticky little bean

TerryRose · 15/05/2024 09:20

On my way to doctors to confirm pregnancy I'm actually so nervous ! I haven't done a test in two weeks and now I'm like maybe I did the tests wrong 😭🤣 I don't have enough pee to do a test before I go in 🙈🤣

Ahaha such a strange feeling right? I don't remember being like this with my first. Had a positive test and that was it! No fear, no anxiety no doubt. Never tested again.

This time round is an entire other kettle of fish. I did get my line on the cheapies tho woo!

Let me know how you get on with the GP.

@Ttcagainnow the niggling symptoms that we worry about are often the same as the ones when things are going well. Backpain is common due to the ligaments being impacted etc xx I hope you feel more relaxed today. The anxiety is such a drain!!

TerryRose · 15/05/2024 10:40

Definitely pregnant anyway! very confused about the dates though 🤣 she was asking me about my cycle lengths and I had kept track of the last two and she reckons it's probably 35 day cycle which makes sense to me but she's putting my date down as 22nd of December. The NHS app is the only app that allows me to input the cycle length which gives me a due date of 06th January. This happened on my previous pregnancy as well and I explained this so when I was sent for the 12 week scan they said I wasn't 12 weeks which I had tried to tell them myself 🤣 I might go for a private scan in a week or two to get an idea 🤣🙈

Yep thank you, really appreciate it! Unfortunately in my case, even though I had concerning symptoms GP didn't suggest EPU to me so I wasn't really aware of this option, just told me to keep an eye on them... It's my first time and I'm just trying to navigate my way through everything...

It is exciting indeed! As per my app the due date is 20 or 21 Jan (depending how I calculate the start of my last period) but I'm sure that's not set in stone! I'm glad everything is expected to be fine for your tests :)

Were you at least referred to an antenatal unit? My GP did that, then when I told them the issues I’ve been having the then implored me to go to an EPU/A&E.

@Lemonyfire That’s great to know and congratulations! I don’t think I am under this hospital’s care yet, I just know they are overseeing this matter.

My experiences here are good so I was planning to self-refer myself to this hospital. Going off what you say, would I have to wait until at least 6 weeks to refer myself? Or can I refer myself now and wait to be accepted later on?

@reimah Hello Reima and congratulations. I’m sorry you’ve experienced this, it must’ve been awfully scary. Did you go to A&E, if not, it may be better to go than to wait for the scan? I hope all is well.

Lemonyfire · 15/05/2024 11:35

@Mariigolds it depends on your areas criteria, in my area you can refer yourself the second you're pregnant as you'll just be sent appointments for 8 and 12 weeks anyway, but personally I wait until 6 weeks. I've now been referred to EPU due to previous losses and have a scan booked for 5th June when I'll be 7.5 weeks, but stressed as I'm always bleeding before this ( with and without successful pregnancies) so was hoping to be started on progesterone as per advice. I've asked a Dr there to call me. So fingers crossed

SunflowerDream · 15/05/2024 12:36

Very anxious here, 6+2 today, I have had really quite intense symptoms the past couple of weeks but today I am not noticing them as much. My boobs/nipples have been soooo tender but today I'm not really feeling much. I had terrible nausea yesterday and Monday but not much at all today. My MC last year started with spotting so I was aware it was happening, I haven't had any bleeding this time but I am absolutely petrified of having and MMC. Is anyone else's symptoms coming and going?

TerryRose · 15/05/2024 12:53

@SunflowerDream yup the same , I don't have nausea everyday just different times of different days and I never had any real symptoms apart from tiredness until I was into the 2nd trimester. No sore boobs etc , all perfectly normal

MaybeBaby2024 · 15/05/2024 13:06

A bit worried now. Just had some light pink spotting there. But I’m going for a private scan later this afternoon so hopefully all is ok 🫤

92Char · 15/05/2024 13:32

Yes I've had symptoms come and go. Mostly tender breasts but also some slight cramping which makes me feel like I'm about to get my period. It usually lasts a couple of seconds and then goes. Have found having breakfast a bit uncomfortable the past 3 days so guessing it's the hormonal changes!

SunflowerDream · 15/05/2024 13:48

@TerryRose @92Char that's really reassuring that you are also experiencing symptoms that come and go - thank you for sharing with me. I am also aware that I am still pretty early on and a lot of people don't even have symptoms at this stage so I am trying not to think the worse. It's quite nice to have a better day today since it was really quite bad the last 2 days!

SunflowerDream · 15/05/2024 13:50

@MaybeBaby2024 I am really sorry to hear that you are feeling worried about your spotting. I know it is so much easier said than done, but try not to think too much into it now, it could be for so many reasons. I really hope you get some reassurance at your scan later and I have everything crossed for you that all is well💓

Elephxnt · 15/05/2024 15:19

I’ve just had my letter through with a date for my 12 week scan, hoping that makes it all seem more real! It seems so far away currently

SunflowerDream · 15/05/2024 16:05

@Elephxnt I had mine through yesterday as well, it's the 27th June, it really feels like so far away, time is going so so slow for me at the moment😭

MaybeBaby2024 · 15/05/2024 17:42

@SunflowerDream all was ok thank you. Saw the heartbeat and measuring on track.

Sarahclairee · 15/05/2024 18:12

Mama2b99 · 15/05/2024 18:29

So glad the scan went well! Really need to book a private one as I feel so normal, albeit quite exhausted, but I felt so sick in my first pregnancy that I’m a bit worried!

I self referred this week at 6 weeks and it usually takes my trust 10 days to get back to you and book in your 8 week booking in appointment.

all hospitals are different though, so check first.

Vik27 · 15/05/2024 19:42

I can’t cope with the bloating already I’m only 5 weeks and my stomach looks like it could be 12+! I’ve gone through ivf so also on progesterone injections and suppositories so I imagine this is adding to it. Had to rethink what I’m wearing some days as my stomachs normally completely flat

Ttcagainnow · 15/05/2024 21:11

@DaringlyDizzy thank you for those words, they have helped so much. I'm feeling a lot calmer today :)
