Yeah that worked thanks.
Was being tech illiterate for a second

@CurlyWurly1991 yes, from everything I've read the NHS are terrible with PGP and the only way to sort it is to go private. I'm sorry it's come on badly for you again. My first pregnancy was definitely the worst and I found my 2nd not bad at all (apart from the amount I spent on physio).

Welshcake15 · 25/04/2024 09:24

I had awful PGP with my first, and I can feel it starting up again now (11 weeks pregnant with 3rd). What really helped with my 2nd was going to aquanatal classes and pregnancy yoga. I honestly think strengthening work on the muscles really made a big difference to the overall stability in my pelvis and the pain. I can't wait to book my classes in after I've had my scan!

I started pilates in January which I'm really hoping has helped. I've built up my core strength a lot but my legs are still so weak.

My boobs have decided to be agony today. 😩 I had a long break from them. Also, my skin is bloody awful. Even more spots and just looks unhealthy. Maybe I should change my usual skin care? I use products more for dry skin.

muddlingthrou · 25/04/2024 12:59

@Bratzy - I find my skin totally changes when I'm pregnant, so yes, you might need different products. Mine is clear at the moment, but feels dull and congested, so there may well be some spots around the corner!

piechipsgravy · 25/04/2024 13:00

@Bratzy my skin is so bad! I cleared it up with some supplements using vitamin A and a retinol and obviously had to stop both so feel like I've sort of given up with it... also cos when I'm trying to not throw up I feel like my skincare routine is the first thing to get sacked off. Really need to start trying to get back on it though.

Welshcake15 · 25/04/2024 13:18

I had awful skin for the first 7/8 weeks or so. I switched to Lush products that are better for sensitive skin (love their Vanishing Cream moisturiser) and it's cleared right up. I've previously found that my skin is quite temperamental when I'm pregnant and making swaps of my facial skincare to Lush helped and also using massage bars and body oils instead of normal brand name cream body moisturiser. The skin on my body tends to get drier as well as a bit sensitive, so using the most uncomplicated products seems to work best.

The one other change I make when pregnant is that I start getting leg and bikini waxes. I started doing this in my first pregnancy when I realised shaving was not only logistically difficult, but that I also couldn't be bothered. It just meant for the sake of one hour every 4 weeks I didn't have to think about it at all then in between appointments. Given that most of my pregnancy will be over the summer months, and I take my eldest two swimming weekly, I've booked my first pregnancy wax in next Wednesday! Wish me luck, it's been a while!

Bratzy · 25/04/2024 15:28

@muddlingthrou hope you dodge the spots!

@piechipsgravy totally understandable that skin care isn't a top priority. 😅I don't like how my skin is looking, but definitely bigger things to think about.

@Welshcake15 I always use Lush products. I use the skin drink for moisturiser. Will give vanishing cream a try! Good luck with the wax...I'll be doing the same in the summer.

Meatballsandpasta · 25/04/2024 15:32

I've been lucky with my face but I am having a weird thing where I get itchy spots on my legs, As if have been bitten by an insect or something - they come up all raised red and everything. But I've not been out uncovered so it's not mozzers and it's definitely not bedbugs or anything inside either! Another plus side to cyclizine being an antihistamine - when I take it the "bites" are much more manageable.

Sparksi · 25/04/2024 15:36

Girls, I feel so sick!

I don’t think I will be sick (that only happens sometimes when I’m brushing my teeth) but it’s just this underlying nausea feeling, definitely stronger these last few days. I’m 10+2 today.

The food aversions are so strong. I haven’t had any particular cravings yet and feel like an outlier for that!

Bratzy · 25/04/2024 15:53

@Meatballsandpasta I was googling skin changes in pregnancy, and it seems like all kinds of changes can happen. Blotches, rashes etc.

@Sparksi poor you! I'm lucky with the nausea lately, but not holding my breath that it won't come back. I haven't really had aversions as such. I feel worse if I haven't eaten. I always had food cravings pre pregnancy anyway. 😂

carlymarie24 · 25/04/2024 16:12

Has anyone’s nausea completely eased? 9+2 today I can’t take much more 😩 going on holiday next week too and the thought of eating out everyday is not exciting me at all

piechipsgravy · 25/04/2024 16:26

I finally got my bloods back and I got the all clear 🥳 no evidence of recent infection and I have the igg antibodies so have had it in the past and unlikely to get it again in the future. I feel so relieved!

Kinsters · 25/04/2024 16:56

@carlymarie24 I'm 13 weeks and pretty much ok now. I occasionally feel nauseous but not in the same way, if that makes sense. It really eased off for me around 9/10 weeks (even though everything I read said 9 was the peak). I hope you feel better for your holiday.

@piechipsgravy 🥳🥳 that's great!

Hurrah! I bet that's a relief? Mine came back the same earlier in the week, and I'm glad it did as now there's a few cases higher up the school 🤦‍♀️

y0rkier0se · 25/04/2024 17:38

Glad to hear you’re immune @piechipsgravy!

I’ve got my 12 week scan tomorrow at 12+5. Feeling really nervous! I had a reassurance scan 3 weeks ago & everything was fine but still got those scan eve nerves! 😬

Mine was bad from 9+2 - 10 weeks and after that it settled and was much better again. Hopefully next week will be better for you!

I've had a day of serious highs and lows today. The high was our dating scan and seeing our gorgeous baby wriggling and stretching like crazy, measuring bang on 12w 3d ☺️

The low was finding out my dad has cancer. Luckily it is slow-growing but it is in his pancreas, so feeling extremely worried. Hope everyone has lovely scan news and give your loved ones an extra squeeze tonight x

You might want to remove the photo and crop it - your name's at the top 😊

muddlingthrou · 25/04/2024 18:13

Thanks @Meatballsandpasta - my brain is not functioning atm 🤦🏽‍♀️

Meatballsandpasta · 25/04/2024 18:22

No worries. I also completely missed the second part of your post @muddlingthrou - hopefully he doesn't suffer too much with symptoms and things go well 🍀

I'm 10+6 and my nausea has definitely "eased" but not totally gone yet. Sending my sympathies for being totally done with nausea!

1yearplan · 25/04/2024 20:08

I'm just over 12 weeks now and my nausea has decided to start now 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I'm so sorry to hear the news of your dad @muddlingthrou I hope he makes a speedy recovery.
