Hi everyone and welcome to thread 3.
Please ask if you’d like the link to the private Facebook group. It expires after a couple of days so I won’t add it to this post.
If you’re new to the thread, we are a friendly and supportive bunch all in it together and hoping to welcome our new additions in November 2024!

I have a confession. I haven't taken my prenatal in almost a week. It started because I wasn't eating enough at mealtimes for the full stomach needed to take them, and then I gagged a few times trying to take them, so I just haven't tried and I prioritised the cyclizine for anti-nausea. But my nausea has been so much better in the last couple of days in that I haven't even needed to take the cyclizine. I'm already planning what to have for lunch I have that much appetite. But I haven't returned to the huge prenatal tablets yet. I'm now wondering if the nausea being gone isn't because the placenta has taken over (I'm 9+6 today) but because I paused the prenatal. So I'm going to boots today to get some different folic acid tablets because that's the main thing, and I'm going to try prenatal gummies... but I wanted to post in case anyone else is going through this. And because I needed somewhere to voice my worries that if I take a prenatal again the sickness will come back. But they're so necessary.

My post finally got unhidden so I'm quoting it as it was pages and pages ago and you'll all never see it otherwise 🤣

Westy22 · 24/04/2024 21:40

@Meatballsandpasta I found the gummies disgusting lol I got folate off amazon and it was quite small pills maybe try them if yours still struggling?

It was the solgar folate 1000mcg x

Riverstardust · 24/04/2024 21:42

@CurlyWurly1991 is that what that is!? Just googled it and was like wait a second, I've been having this. Yesterday, I was literally putting plates in the dishwasher and had shooting pains in my right hip. DH had to help me to bed as I could barely walk.
I'm definitely in a bad habit of crossing my legs while working.

I think it’s the descriptor of the vitamins (what form they come in) that might be hiding the comment! I’ll test in another comment.. let’s see

Good to know - thank you! I'm currently using tiny folic acid and vitamin D from Boots and they are okay so far

Meatballsandpasta · 24/04/2024 22:06

@Sparksi is it the G word?

Yes. Bizarre. It’s the only thing I can take, all the normal vitamins have sheep Vitamin D 😂

Maybe it's a red flag because g u m m i e s sometimes refers to c b d? (Intrigued to see if this post flags the auto-checker)

Ah. Probably!

Hi everyone, I had my 12w scan and booking apt today. They had me at 12+6 by dates but my cycle hadn't been regular so I knew I was less so they've put me at 12w with a EDD of 6th Nov.
Can I get the fb link? I like to get reassurance from the scan before joining the group so feel I'm ready now if you'll have me.

Welcome! Someone will be along with a FB link shortly I'm sure but of course we'll have you. Congrats on the scan 😄

You just sent me on a frantic Google about the connection between sheep and vitamin D. Fgs. Well that's another knock to my pre-pregnancy veganism!

You can get vegan Vitamin D! Just google it. Not much more expensive, I used to have a spray one

It's the getting it at a size I can swallow that's the problem! My previous prenatal was all vegan but also approximately the size of a brick so I can't face them right now, especially when a single dose is two of them 🤣 so non-vegan swallowable is my compromise for now.

Bratzy · 24/04/2024 22:43

Hi everyone. Hope you're all well. 😊Nothing really to update here. But I'm 10 weeks tomorrow, which I'm excited about as apps show that baby starts to resemble a human baby. Ok, still quite alien-like but we are getting there. 😂

At 10 weeks according to Ovia, baby is the size of a LEGO minifigure person! Take that, alien babies.

The only way I could take pills was with yogurt. It really reduced the gagging. 13 weeks now and I can take them normally again.

@CurlyWurly1991 I get PGP. There's normally something that sets it off for me. With DD that was breaststroke, with DS it was pushing a shopping trolley with dodgy wheels. I find once I've set it off then the only thing that helps is physio. I thought I'd set it off this pregnancy (another dodgy shopping trolley) but a massage was enough to fix it. Annoyingly the massage place I go to won't see me again as I said in passing that I was pregnant and they won't do anything other than "relaxing" massage if you're pregnant. I find the pillow between my legs really helps, I use a bolster pillow so that it goes between my knees and ankles.

Oops, dont know why I quoted your post @Sparksi !

Ah @Kinsters sorry to hear you suffer with PGP too.

@Riverstardust could well be. Check out the pelvic partnership website, it’s really good. There’s also a Facebook support group.

My pain in my hip and buttock was so bad last night and is only slightly better this morning. Usually have the pillow between legs but it was excruciating to seperate my legs to put in a pillow. Eventually found a way of sleeping mainly on my front which meant I got a few hours at least. I had already been flagged as needing women’s health physio at booking due to hypermobility and history of PGP but this has come on much earlier than expected. The nhs physio is offering me group sessions in late May which I will do but isn’t going to help in the short term when my daily activities are so affected (stairs, walking etc)

The only thing that helped last time was going to a (private) osteopath. There was one in London that treated pregnant women for free (supervised osteopath students). It was like magic at taking away pain. Will have to cough up £££ this time.

Thanks, this just takes me to my fb app. I've tried clicking on other links and the same thing happened so I assumed they were just out of date links.
Think I seen someone else say same before, any ideas how to get past it?
