Hi everyone and welcome to thread 3.
Please ask if you’d like the link to the private Facebook group. It expires after a couple of days so I won’t add it to this post.
If you’re new to the thread, we are a friendly and supportive bunch all in it together and hoping to welcome our new additions in November 2024!

Super relaxed Sunday here. We're just watching the London marathon. I want to go to the shops to buy a new kitchen blind and to the garden centre to buy some flowers. Dh has said he's making a roast, so that's nice.
Ahh, I hate the Sunday work blues @Sparksi

@CurlyWurly1991 it sounds like a difficult one re the scan and telling your daughter. I worry so much before the scans, but always feel such a relief once I've had one. I've been going a bit too much really. Every two weeks - it's how I'm coping though. We are all so different with different coping mechanisms. I'm sure you'll find a way that is best for you though.

mrssunshinexxx · 21/04/2024 12:22

@Sparksi have you got a smock style dress and a oversizzed jumper preferably black as it's slimming x it's hard I'm struggling to dress for my changing body right now as it's not an obvious bump until the evening every day but jeans are getting tight x

waryandbored · 21/04/2024 16:32

Well I think the cyclizine might actually be working!! I don’t want to speak too soon but I’ve not been sick today and my nausea has definitely lessened! Such a relief. The only thing is, how do we know when to stop taking it?! With my first, I was sick until about 16 weeks but it reduced massively after 12 weeks. Maybe wait til 12 weeks and try a day without it? 😬

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday. I am 9+3 today and I am wishing away the days until my scan. It’s on 8/5 when I should be exactly 12 weeks. I’m extremely tempted to have a private scan in between but trying to hold off…

@waryandbored - I'm also wondering about this. I'm considering trying half the dose, but so worried the crippling nausea will come back. Might wait a few days and then experiment with less medication.

y0rkier0se · 21/04/2024 17:34

I took cyclizine from week 7 to week 10. Over the weekend of week 10, I was feeling much much better so decided to try without it. I haven’t needed to take it since but it was a godsend during those weeks x

Popping in to say hello! This is my first pregnancy at 35 and I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow. Awaiting our dating scan so for now my EDD is 25th November!

We've told only our parents so we could answer the health questions in the booking appointment we had last week. Local midwife team seems lovely.

I was preparing myself for serious morning sickness because my mum was sick throughout her pregnancy with me, and my cousin on her side has also struggled with it through both of hers. I've been lucky enough to get away with nausea! My sympathy to you ladies dealing with it, it sounds really rough. I hope you find something helps and/or it eases in the coming weeks. ❤

CurlyWurly1991 · 21/04/2024 20:26

Hi @midori89 good to hear you’ve dodged sickness! You never really know from one pregnancy to another. I have almost the same due date as you (26/11) although haven’t had any scans yet so is likely to change.

piechipsgravy · 22/04/2024 07:07

Morning! How is everyone doing today?
I've rung in this morning and said I don't feel comfortable coming in until I get my blood results back (hopefully today). Feel guilty but also relieved.

I think you’ve done the right thing for you. Definitely rest up today! You don’t need more reason to worry

Sparksi · 22/04/2024 07:19

I’m feeling ok today so far, though only recently woken up. I had some really odd dreams. One of them was that we were told at the 12 week scan that the baby has an issue with their bowel but it would be nothing serious and could just be a quick operation when they were born!! Hope that’s not true, how odd!

Well done, definitely the right decision. Hopefully your results are back soon.
I feel rough this morning but luckily have my own planning time until 11 so hoping I feel a bit brighter by then. I've got to accompany 20 Year 5 children to swimming lessons this afternoon too!

y0rkier0se · 22/04/2024 08:01

I’ve phoned in sick today too @Sparksi. I hope you get your tests results back sooner rather than later x

I spent all day yesterday on the sofa resting & my back & chest are feeling better but again through the nights my right rib has been spasming and hurting. It’s a really sharp stabbing pain for a few seconds, whenever I turn my body. I’m wondering if it could be round ligament pain, yesterday I discounted it as I’d read that it’s from your stomach downwards but read elsewhere that it can be around your ribs and is usually on your right hand side. Either way, i‘m hoping it goes asap!

Sparksi · 22/04/2024 08:08

Private scan or not around 10w? Tempted to book one this week as I’m so anxious but I had good scans at 6 and 8+2, I know waiting till 12 won’t make a difference to how baby is doing.

I bet it is muscular or ligaments. It’ll just be your body growing and stretching. Sharp pains do feel worrying but everything online says normal x

carlymarie24 · 22/04/2024 09:03

Also rang in sick today! My stomach is really off this morning 🤢

SouthwestSis · 22/04/2024 09:05

Morning all, what do you think you'll do if the bloods show you're not immune @piechipsgravy ? .

@Sparksi I've been having such vivid dreams lately! Nothing about baby yet but sometimes really wild ones almost like a sci-fi movie, impressed with what my brain has dreamt up! But sometimes hard to get back to sleep from if I wake at 2am.

Sorry you're still feeling rubbish @y0rkier0se , have you tried a hot water bottle on the sore parts?

I've got my booking appointment at 10.40 and am just wishing the morning away, struggling to focus on getting anything done in the meantime.

muddlingthrou · 22/04/2024 09:11

@y0rkier0se - I definitely had pains higher up than my stomach and around my ribs in my first pregnancy. Everything is moving around so I'm sure all sorts of muscles can be pulled out of whack. Hope you manage to get some relief xx

piechipsgravy · 22/04/2024 09:16

@SouthwestSis I think I'd stay out of class until there'd been no new cases for a few weeks (can't remember the incubation period). They'd possibly swap me with another teacher in a different year group but there's also been cases in Y1 and Nursery so not sure. I've seen a guidance that suggests staying out until 20 weeks but that feels so far away! I'm really really hoping I have the antibodies.

piechipsgravy · 22/04/2024 09:17

@SouthwestSis pressed post too soon- good luck for your booking appt! Take a snack with you- mine was at the same time and I was hungry by the end when we did our bloods and it made me really faint.

I've had one a month and felt quite reassured by that.

y0rkier0se · 22/04/2024 10:18

Thanks @Sparksi & @SouthwestSis, yep I’ve got a hot water bottle on the go as we speak and it’s helping. It’s definitely easier today than yesterday, just that first hour when i’m stiff from sleeping is horrible!

I had my first scan at 10w & very glad I did! I found out at 3+5 so it felt like such a long wait until 10w! Got my 12w scan this Friday at 12+5 & I’m feeling really nervous for some reason, even though the 10w one was fine.

Hi! my EDD is 26/11 so we are so close! waiting for my scan date now... i too have had no nausea or sickness really and worry for lack of symptoms if anything! guess we cant win.. we worry if we do have some and we worry if we dont!

StayingHopefulx · 22/04/2024 13:22

@midori89 ahh congrats I’m 25th nov first pregnancy too! Had an early scan the other day to hear a heartbeat seems crazy so early!
I’ve been suffering horrendously with nausea and vomiting but over the weekend I had none and you worry then why the symptoms suddenly gone!! I feel we’re going to worry forever more!!

CurlyWurly1991 · 22/04/2024 13:40

@StayingHopefulx I have an EDD of 26/11 so we’re around the same stage - I also haven’t had nausea over the weekend and it’s really worrying me! Boobs still sore and I’m tired but the loss of nausea seems too early? With my daughter I was sick as a dog and 9 weeks was the worst.
I heard that weeks 8-12 is when the placenta starts to take over so loss of/fluctuating symptoms can be normal. I feel anxious about it though.

StayingHopefulx · 22/04/2024 13:43

@CurlyWurly1991 ahh very close congrats!!! So I was panicking last week as vomiting mon and tues nothing weds and thurs. But scan Friday showed everything good, nice strong fast heartbeat, so reassuring! It just looks like some good some bad days so take the good days and roll with it!! I was good yesterday nasueas back today! Try not to worry but I know exactly how you feel, I’m the worst worrier! My next scan isn’t until 13+4 and I’m thinking of booking another private scan around 11/12 because I don’t think I can wait that long!! Xx
