@Sparksi thank you so much for your reply! Has reassured me so much! I think the sight of blood just puts doubts in our minds and when you can’t just check that everything is fine is so scary! I’m lapping up the fact that I can eat today cause never know what tomorrow brings I suppose but just wasn’t sure if the sudden stop was worrisome! Thank you so much again 🥰

SouthwestSis · 17/04/2024 19:39

@StayingHopefulx if you're constipated and were straining then there's a good chance the blood was from a tiny tear at your bumhole rather than vaginal.

It's really worth getting on top of constipation before you get more pregnant as it can put you at risk of haemorrhoids which I'm sure you don't need!
Eating plenty of veg, getting plenty of fluids, don't have too much meat/eggs and a bit of fybogel/movicol (you can buy these over the counter and they are pregnancy safe) work wonders, as well as trying to get your step count up each day.

strawberrycake12 · 17/04/2024 19:42

@Sparksi your symptoms came back! Mine did the same. I'm 9+4 today and I've had a better evening of it today. Hoping the next few days will be the last of it again.

Anyone further ahead than us, how was week 10/11 symptom wise?

ttcbabyno1x · 17/04/2024 20:44

@mrssunshinexxx thank you! It was this morning. All was good, baby was dancing around doing cartwheels 🥰

@strawberrycake12 im 12 weeks. I was so sick during week 8/9. 10&11 the sickness calmed. Main symptoms were just tiredness (I haven’t been sleeping well for the whole pregnancy so far!), heartburn, still got food aversions and feeling bloated.

Sparksi · 17/04/2024 21:07

I’ve spent the whole evening crying my eyes out because I spilled gravy over the kitchen floor and cupboards, and every little thing since has set me off. I watched a sad reel on Instagram. I went upstairs to find my favourite hand soap had run out in the upstairs bathroom. I literally took myself to my room for a good old cry for probably about an hour, genuinely sobbing my eyes out 😂 thanks hormones. I’ve cheered up now and I can see the funny side but I read somewhere that babies can feel your emotions and I’m worried that I got so upset….. Aghh.

Bratzy · 17/04/2024 22:04

Hey everyone. 😊 I switched the vitamins Monday. I still have strong nausea in the mornings, but it's settled by afternoon and very mild as long as I'm not hungry. Hoping that's not just a fluke. I'm back in college this week though and bloody exhausted. Hope I get that burst of energy I've been reading about. 9 weeks tomorrow 🥰 and the past week has gone pretty fast. I think having the scan helped time stop feeling soo slooww.

Rolly321 · 17/04/2024 22:11

@StayingHopefulx it's not quite the same, but I find my bum tears every time I go for a poo (not constipated, just an existing tear that keeps opening - I've had it checked and nothing untoward although very annoying) and so I see a lot of blood on the paper. It's so annoying because after the initial wipe I find myself dabbing the front just to 'check' that's not the source of the blood. Nothing like your story really, but wanted to sympathise with the worry about unknown blood.

Sounds like you could be right and it's just the straining that's caused it. For future episodes of constipation (assuming you are already eating ok and drinking plenty) you could try laxido. I find it a lot better than lactulose which seems to be the first thing doctors want to give out, but it gives me horrible wind and bloating.

piechipsgravy · 18/04/2024 07:03

Anyone else feel like their symptoms are getting worse, or at the very least not better? My nausea has been so much worse over the last week and is now waking me up every night and affecting my sleep in addition to feeling sick pretty much constantly during the day. I'm starting to get really down because the thought of having several more weeks of this is horrible.

Yep.. I posted this a couple of days ago but think it got missed by most people.

I feel like all I do is moan at the moment. My sickness has got even worse and I’m pretty much vomiting everything I eat today. My DS is in nursery tomorrow so it’s my first chance in what feels like forever to rest. I really hope it makes a difference. I don’t know how many more days like today I can handle. I just feel awful all the time, constantly nauseous and the vomiting is so violent and painful. Is anyone else going through this?

waryandbored · 18/04/2024 07:18

@piechipsgravy are you taking anything for the nausea?

Could it be indigestion at night? Mine is starting to get bad now.

I don't have morning sickness anymore but tiredness is back with a vengeance.

@waryandbored and @piechipsgravy I can't imagine how horrible this must be for you both. I absolutely hate being sick. You have my sympathies.
Im awaiting a my NIPT results. I'm so nervous. They should come in today or tomorrow at the latest.

Hoping the best for you. I am sure all will be well. The peace of mind of having it back will be a massive weight off, I should imagine x

Meatballsandpasta · 18/04/2024 10:27

I have a confession. I haven't taken my prenatal in almost a week. It started because I wasn't eating enough at mealtimes for the full stomach needed to take them, and then I gagged a few times trying to take them, so I just haven't tried and I prioritised the cyclizine for anti-nausea. But my nausea has been so much better in the last couple of days in that I haven't even needed to take the cyclizine. I'm already planning what to have for lunch I have that much appetite. But I haven't returned to the huge prenatal tablets yet. I'm now wondering if the nausea being gone isn't because the placenta has taken over (I'm 9+6 today) but because I paused the prenatal. So I'm going to boots today to get some different folic acid tablets because that's the main thing, and I'm going to try prenatal gummies... but I wanted to post in case anyone else is going through this. And because I needed somewhere to voice my worries that if I take a prenatal again the sickness will come back. But they're so necessary.

I'm so confused as to why my post has been hidden for review... obviously I used a word that has been flagged automatically somehow! How bizarre... hopefully it'll pop up properly soon 😬

Mine was once when I posted about vitamins. It then posted about 20 mins later!

I'm expecting mine any day now as well. I had the test a couple of weeks ago but there's been two public holidays in that time for Eid so I think that's slowed things down. I was actually looking back through my phone records to see how long it took to get the call in previous pregnancies 😅

1yearplan · 18/04/2024 12:19

@Kinsters I hope your results come through quickly. The wait is so nerve racking - we do so much waiting in early pregnancy too.
I got my results shortly after I posted. My dh them up. Low risk thankfully. I'm so grateful for that result. We also found out it's a little girl! So a little sister for our son, who we lost in December ♥️

@Meatballsandpasta how odd re the post! I wonder what made it flag up. Hopefully it will be put back soon.

Question for you all!
I work in retail in a hardware shop(paint, house hold items, gardening, furniture ect)

How far along were you when you told work you were pregnant? My symptoms are still not bad so I haven’t said anything yet

I know for a fact my work colleague’s already know I’m pregnant tho as when I was showing one of them something on my phone a notification came up from a pregnancy app .. I didn’t say anything and neither did they and then today I left my bloody phone open on the page I have all the app!!! . What an idiot😂

muddlingthrou · 18/04/2024 12:21

@piechipsgravy - in my last pregnancy, I remember feeling so dismayed and broken down when my nausea got worse rather than better at 12 weeks! I thought it was going to be all pregnancy long, but it did actually lift at 16 weeks so don't lose hope.

This time, I'm actually feeling better at 11 weeks. Not sure if it's the massive whack of meds I'm on or just the placenta taking over, but I'm bloody ecstatic about it! At the hairdressers getting my hair cut right now - I couldn't have dreamed of that a couple of weeks ago. Sending everyone feeling sick lots of love xx

Sparksi · 18/04/2024 12:47

After feeling better at 9 and 9+1, I’m happy to report I’m back to feeling incredibly sick today at 9+2. All food and food smells are 🤢

Just been for repeat bloods as one of the vials couldn’t be used last time, the blood group one. Met a different midwife who was really lovely, so that was positive

piechipsgravy · 18/04/2024 12:48

@waryandbored I'm so sorry to hear that- it sounds horrendous. I really hope you get some relief soon. I'm not currently on medication but think if it's still like this after my 12 week scan I'll ask my GP.

@1yearplan thanks- I am very lucky I've only vomited a handful of times, it's just the incessant nausea/wanting to be sick that's getting to me!

@muddlingthrou that is helpful to know. I'm so pathetic that I want it to be over now, not in a month! But it's mainly the lack of sleep that's making me so grumpy and fed up over it.

Sorry about your DS. I had a late miscarriage last year and lost a baby boy. I didn't think it was affecting me too much but as I get closer to the second trimester I'm getting quite anxious.

I didn't hear today so I guess it will be either tomorrow or early next week. I'm happy to hear about your low risk baby girl x

I told my work last week, only because I wasn't sure if it would impact something happening later on in the year and I wanted to flag potential issues while we're at the planning stage. But I don't have any actual "risks" per se. Otherwise I'd probably have waited until 12 weeks or if I had symptoms.

In your case, are you worried about safety from fumes or lifting etc? In which case that's a bit different.
