@Sparksi thank you for the suggestions. I've just wandered around Tesco and have bought some pasta and a tomato / mascarpone sauce so let's see how that goes down!

@muddlingthrou I'm the same - absolutely love my food usually so it's very weird to fancy almost nothing!

Oh and I also bought some potato waffles @waryandbored @CurlyWurly1991 (before even seeing your posts!)! Haven't had them for years!

I’ve eaten a box of 12 potato waffles in 3 days. I’ve just had 2 with a slice of vegan cheese in the middle, with salt, vinegar and mayo. I don’t regret a thing!

I like the sound of that 👍 I would regret nothing too 😂

CurlyWurly1991 · 06/04/2024 17:58

Hahaha I actually saw potato waffles in Asda but they were full price at £2.50 for 10 so got chips instead. Will save them for another day. Just bought a toastie maker though so I can eat endless cheese toasties. I’ve already put a hairband on to extend my jeans waistband, I’m going to put on a ton of weight aren’t I… not even 7w yet eek!

Shroedy · 06/04/2024 18:15

Ok, I'm just checking when the supermarket closes as I now have a hankering for a potato waffle 😆

I’ve had to do the same with my trousers. DP said ‘you can’t have a bump yet’ 😂 nope, just potato!

Bratzy · 06/04/2024 19:21

Hope you're all well 😊 My best friend had her baby shower today. It made me excited for the later stages and milestones.

I was just thinking yesterday about getting a toastie maker! What a great plan 👍

I know this is probably normal but I've been nauseous for two weeks every day now and today I just felt fine, I'm thinking it will probably come back again in the next few days but has anyone else had similar? I'm 7+5 today.

Starrysky812 · 06/04/2024 20:27

@strawberrycake12 yes absolutely. Mine fluctuates to feeling better some days than others, and I've seen a lot of the other ladies saying the same. I'm 7+3 today and for the last couple of hours I've actually been feeling better than I have for about 2 weeks! I'm sure it'll be a different story in the morning 🙃 enjoy the respite while you can xx

KM89 · 06/04/2024 20:28

Has anyone had a numb kind of achy feeling in the lower back ?. I think its coming from my tail bone.
It's been bothering me for around a week now and I'm only 8 weeks!
Never had anything like this in my last pregnancy

strawberrycake12 · 06/04/2024 20:29

Thank you @Starrysky812 that reassures me. It's just such a strange feeling to feel relatively normal again 😂

Mine went for the day at 7+2 and came back with a vengeance the following day. Comes and goes. Totally normal. Appreciate feeling good for a day! Know it’s a worry though x

ProudSheep · 06/04/2024 21:14

Hi Everyone. I was hoping some of you could share your experience on the following, as it’s my first time pregnant and I’m 5w 2 days.
basically on Monday I went for a wee and saw blood on the tissue. Obviously I was worried but looked it up and most places said it was normal to experience some bleeding that was brown in colour. Mine was quite a bright red though, and only lasted 2 more times that I went to the loo that morning - just traces on the tissue and no need for a pad or anything. Me and my husband did have some fun 36 hours before hand too so wasn’t sure if maybe that had anything to do with it.
Have any of you had anything similar during your first weeks of pregnancy?

Sparksi · 06/04/2024 21:16

Me and DH were thinking about a night away next weekend in a really nice hotel with a pool.

I’d really love to go but we’d need to get the train, I don’t know if it’s a gamble booking to do that when the whole point would be to have a nice dinner before and I suppose I could be really nauseous come next weekend when I’ll be 8+4!

Would you go in this situation or book it a few months down the line instead? On one hand it would be nice to look forward to it but I don’t know if it’s a waste if I’m not feeling a hundred percent

I started spotting immediately after sex at 5+4, first it was red and then pink. Stopped entirely after 24h. It was a horrible fright! I mentioned it to the EPU when I went for a scan and they said the cervix is more sensitive so can be normal to experience light bleeding after sex. If it’s stopped now I wouldn’t worry x

Twinkletwinklelil · 06/04/2024 21:33

Hi November mommas..

im struggling with extreme
nausea and tiredness today. I’m 6w+2.

my last pregnancy was not this bad 😰

anywY, just wanted to know if anyone else is feeling such strong symptoms around the same time?

ProudSheep · 06/04/2024 21:44

Aw thank you. It is a fright indeed, especially after finally getting the good news!

I’m 8+2 at the moment and had similar after sex at around 6 weeks. A sort of light pink colour. It only lasted that day and only when wiping. I haven’t had anything for a couple of weeks, so I’m thinking everything must be ok! I had a bit of a panic too but read online that as long as it’s not accompanied by cramping or you’re filling up pads, then it should be just normal and potentially just the cervix being sensitive. I have my booking appointment next week and going to mention it to the midwife anyways (took a couple of pics of the loo paper at the time!)

Id go later if it were me. Second trimester you'll feel less sick and have more energy.

CurlyWurly1991 · 07/04/2024 08:29

@Sparksi I would also hold off booking until the second trimester. I feel like it’s just survival at this point… I struggle to really enjoy anything (that sounds so bad) but if it’s a treat I would save it until you are likely to feel better.

For those interested in nausea/vomiting recommendations I came across this paper which I thought was really good. Probably a US perspective in terms of medication but the advice for nausea seems v good to me - you need to scroll to the beginning

After having the worst nausea ever yesterday and actually finally vomiting in the evening, I’ve woken up feeling ok today. I’ve eaten and still feel fine. Obviously the respite is a relief but I can’t help but worry about the lack of symptoms…

muddlingthrou · 07/04/2024 08:43

@CurlyWurly1991 - thank you for this. I have a review appt at the hospital on Wednesday to talk about medication, and this paper is super helpful.

CurlyWurly1991 · 07/04/2024 08:45

@muddlingthrou ah no worries. It’s kind of reassuring in its stepped gradual approach. Like it’s actually taking this seriously.

It’ll be ok. I feel a bit better today too. I also felt totally fine on Thursday! Whereas Friday and yesterday I felt the sickest I’ve ever felt. Fluctuation must be normal. How far along are you? Xx

7+4 today!
It’s just nerve wracking isn’t it? The nausea has been dreadful but also reassuring in a weird way.
