@CadoAvo so sorry to hear this update. I've not been managing to keep up with reading this thread so I've just seen your latest post now. What a terribly anxious time for you. I know it's impossible to try to feel positive at a time like this so maybe just do your best to fill the weekend with nice things with your wife to help you focus on other things. And be kind to yourself - if ever there was a time to prioritise self care, this is it. Sending love ❤️

Thank you, let us know how yours goes later! Fingers crossed xx

I will do - I'm so stressed and my belly feels all weird today - slightly crampy and tingling. It's not the best day for it 🙄 xx

taytay2020 · 04/04/2024 13:09

@PennySong I totally get your worries. Just remember that the likeliest scenario is that everything is fine. And soon you'll know. xxx

Makes me glad my first scan is at 8.45am though! So at least I won't have all day to stress beforehand. Mine's at my IVF clinic next Tuesday (when I'll be 7+4).

Thank you - I'll try to remember that!
It was the only slot they had. Early would be better. I'm 7+4 today. xx

Starrysky812 · 04/04/2024 14:30

@CurlyWurly1991 thank you for the extra reassurance. I'm also very nauseous and exhausted - not helped by my 16mo who can't sit still for even a nanosecond and still wakes multiple times overnight! Going to have to look at some night weaning / sleep training soon I think 😴 sitting through training days really does sound grim at this time. I hope you get through it. Lots of water and snacks if you can manage xx

Bratzy · 04/04/2024 14:31

Hi ladies.
@CadoAvo so sorry you're going through this. 💜

I'm 7 weeks today 💜I also have light cramping/stretching. Trying to not freak out about that unless it gets worse. My nausea is actually mild today and didn't throw up yesterday and today, which is nice. But this tiredness is relentless!! I had an awful dream last night. I won't go into the gory details, but I lost the baby in it...and my teeth! and everyone around me was mocking me. I woke up very distressed. 😭A week until my scan and it cannot come quick enough.

SouthwestSis · 04/04/2024 16:55

Had my scan today and saw a little heartbeat, the relief was amazing. They put me a day ahead of where I thought I was, so 7+3.
Still feeling sick and tired but at least less anxious!
Going to keep the news to ourselves for another week before we tell family

Jenroxy5 · 04/04/2024 17:22

@CadoAvo hope you’re ok I’m similar situ I’ve been wiping pink streaky discharge every couple of days not regular or red spotting just the discharge my symptoms are there and few between. I have still an empty sac unfortunately need to wait until Wednesday to be rescanned again as they think with my cycles being so irregular I have no idea how far along I am so could be normal but it’s such a worrying time I just keep saying that I have some symptoms and my pregnancy tests are dark so we’re still pregnant xx

Mumtobeno2 · 04/04/2024 17:58

@CadoAvo just seen your latest update, sorry you're going through this this. And I hope this weekend you can spend with your wife doing nice things together..it'll be impossible I imagine to distract from it but hope that it might keep the anxiety away a little..I hope on Monday you get some good news and it's a bit of relief but completely get you not getting your hopes up. Sending you lots of love, this first stage of pregnancy feels so fragile in so many ways xx

I had my scan today too and was dated at 8 weeks exactly which matched my expected due date. Felt very reassured to see and hear the heartbeat and it's all starting to feel a little more real. Planning on telling my side on Saturday as I will see everyone close to me, which happens rarely!

Bratzy · 04/04/2024 18:04

@SouthwestSis @Mumtobeno2 congrats! 🥰🥰

Starrysky812 · 04/04/2024 18:23

Weird question but has anyone felt their cervix since becoming pregnant? I checked mine in the shower this morning and it still feels slightly open. This is my second and my first was a vaginal birth so maybe that's to be expected? Does anyone have any idea? Xx

Figtree11 · 04/04/2024 18:37

Sorry to hear about your bleeding @CadoAvo
I’ve not been on this thread for a while, but I had pink bleeding followed by brown bleeding & spotting from Saturday til Weds. I was also on holiday. Was fully expecting the worst as I’ve had a miscarriage before. But I had a scan at the EPU yesterday & all was well. No reason for the bleeding could be found.
I really hope you get good news. I know how agonising the waiting it. The 4 days of waiting until I got the scan were just awful

SouthwestSis · 04/04/2024 18:47

Congrats @Mumtobeno2 !
Telling family feels like another important milestone doesn't it.
@Starrysky812 I'm a bit squeamish about stuff like that, so sorry not much help but I've never felt my own cervix and won't if I can help it!

Thinking of all of you waiting for your scans, sending hugs.

Plan for tonight is to have a nice relaxing bath with some alcohol-free fizz once I've got no1 to bed. Now thinking about how to tell him about the pregnancy but think I will wait till 20w scan so I can say baby brother/sister!

muddlingthrou · 04/04/2024 19:04

Currently in hospital waiting to be seen and potentially given IV fluids for pregnancy sickness. Any one have any experience they can share of something similar? I am keeping food and fluids down but the constant nausea is breaking my spirit 😩

I'm starting to wish I hadn't made a fuss to my GP and just asked for the same meds again even though they weren't really making a dent in the sickness.

Starrysky812 · 04/04/2024 19:05

@SouthwestSis no problem! I'm a nurse so not squeamish about anything really 😂 huge congratulations to you and @Mumtobeno2 ❤️ great news xx

Oh you poor thing! I am also having a really tough time with nausea. Was given Cyclazine and Omeprazol by my GP and for 2 days I felt semi okay but today has been awful. I am not being sick either but the nausea is exhausting and there is no respite. I hope the IV helps you a little, which meds are you taking as perhaps I need to go back to my GP. My house is a state, i’ve not washed in 4 days and could barely work today. Its starting to affect my MH - if only there was a solution!

PennySong · 04/04/2024 21:05

I'm just back from my scan. We can see the fetal pole properly but things are a bit borderline still. I'm measuring 6 weeks though I'm 7+4 and the heartbeat apparently seems a bit slow but I don't have a measurement of it. There was definitely a flutter but it was hard to see, the baby is so tiny.
But there has been growth and she's seen things in this situation turn out fine. I'm trying to cling onto that.
I can go back for a free scan at some point too. And she wants to know how next week's scan goes. She was so lovely. Much nicer than the other place. I'm so worried though. I'm afraid it's not going to turn out well 😞

I'm sorry to hear this. Sending you a virtual handhold as I'm experiencing something similar. It's so worrying. 💕

Thank you so much. Lots of hugs for you too. 💜
I have something else that could cause bleeding at some point too. But I forget what it's called. It's not too big though. And I hope it doesn't cause problems.
She said the yolk sac was a good size and I'm pleased there's been some progress. And there is a heartbeat going on. Mum said to keep positive but it's so difficult.
I hope you're ok xx

purplecolouroffunk · 04/04/2024 21:44

@CadoAvo so glad to you were able to get home early.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I know how difficult that wait will be, what an anxious time for you. We’re all here for support 💜

omghavingababy · 04/04/2024 22:36

@PennySong I think this is great news and you should deffo take as positive

I have my re scan tomorrow.....but I'm prepared for the worst to be honest
I was also measuring behind and a very very small tiny flicker of a heartbeat but the nurse basically told me to expect the worst and in her gut it's not good news and then basically discussed medical management options...

The fact that your scan lady was so lovely and said positive things I think she wouldn't have said that otherwise
Good luck for your next scan!

piechipsgravy · 05/04/2024 07:22

Thinking of everyone having scans today- I think there's a lot of us!

waryandbored · 05/04/2024 07:32

I’ve got my rescan today. The last one was 10 days ago and only showed a yolk sac. I am really really hoping to see a little bean in there today.
I also have a GP appointment this afternoon about the nausea I’ve been suffering with. Not sure if they’ll do anything but I couldn’t leave the house for 2 days this week and I got a bit desperate.
Also thinking of everyone having scans today. I hope to come back later with my own positive news and see everyone else’s too 🤞🏼❤️

LegoBear84 · 05/04/2024 07:43

Good luck to all those having scans today!
Nausea has hit me hard this morning. I've been super lucky and only had it slightly when my blood sugar has dropped if I've left it too long between eating something. Sending out positive thoughts to everyone feeling a bit meh today xx

Sparksi · 05/04/2024 08:49

I was brushing my teeth this morning and can’t seem to brush my tongue at the moment without honestly nearly vomiting every time. Has anyone else had this 😂🤢
