@Jenroxy5 sorry you haven’t had to the reassuring news you were hoping for, I really hope you get some answers soon.

@CadoAvo sending you huge love, it must be very hard not to panic and I’m really sorry it’s taken over your nights away. Fingers crossed that it’s just a blood vessel or something causing the issue. Will they scan you again next week?

I don't have any personal pregnancy loss or anything. Although, I'm sure we all know someone who has. I know it doesn't guarantee everything will be fine going forward, but I hope it'll be some comfort. It's such a long wait otherwise. I can't imagine having a mmc, while just going around thinking everything is ok. It's just a bit of peace of mind for me, to check it's at least all started out in the right way. If that makes sense? Sorry, I know it's a very sensitive subject.

Edited

I was told to go in and it was too early. It's been stressful. I think 7-8 weeks is a better idea not 6. I'm going in again. I didn't know anything about it or I would have said to them.

I'll be 8 weeks at mine. Best of luck for your next scan!

Oh @CadoAvo big hugs! I totally know how you feel. Sending lots of love and please keep us posted

Not great. Didn't have a good sleep, hoping to come home today instead of tomorrow. Still bleeding, it never reaches the pad but there's a lot every time I wipe. Got bad cramps this morning now too. I had a bit more hope last night after reading many positive outcome stories re bleeding at 7 weeks but this morning I don't feel as hopeful. Just have to suffer through this limbo until I can get a scan, the quicker I can get to my own bed the better 😅

Thanks for checking in 💕

I hope you’re doing okay 💜

I’ve been spotting too on and off for the past 1.5 weeks since my positive test (I’m 5+4). I spoke to the EPU and they seem to think it might be a hematoma from the implantation site. Said to call back on Friday if still spotting.

Has yours been spotting or more light bleeding? It’s so anxiety-inducing isn’t it? I’m sending you love.

Daydreamer94 · 03/04/2024 18:21

Sorry to hear of everyones scares! This time is the worst but hoping good news for everyone going forward.

Wanted to ask if anyone eats but feels like they have eaten nothing. Have now had 4 meals and my stomach feels empty? At this point I don't know what to do but give in however I have had ED in the past and really struggle with body image :(

Westy22 · 03/04/2024 19:18

@Daydreamer94 I'm eating all the time at the moment, literally nothing seems to fill me up. I've read drinking more water may help a bit x

SouthwestSis · 03/04/2024 19:24

My sickness has been slightly better the last 2 days and so have found myself eating loads! But was after a week or 2 of not eating so much.
Currently look as though I'm carrying twins!

I am drinking so much water but its not filling me up! I need food and the carbier the better it seems :(

CadoAvo · 03/04/2024 19:51

@purplecolouroffunk it's definitely light bleeding, more than spotting. We have decided to come home, only about 50 mins away from my bed now.
Just trying not to think about how I've ruined our break away 😅 and I can't stop crying randomly so that's fun!
I keep imagining how the scan might go and all the different scenarios. My partner has been great but I think feels a bit lost. Just need the next few days to hurry up.

muddlingthrou · 03/04/2024 19:52

Oh yes, eating all the carbs and then some right now. It's the only thing that allays the nausea (temporarily). Just had some ham and cheese croquettes from M&S which were some of the most delicious things I've ever eaten 🤤

Sparksi · 03/04/2024 19:55

I can’t deal with all this food talk. I wish I craved anything 😂😂 I’m lying, I fancied chocolate cake today so I bought myself a big chocolate cake from the supermarket. Nutrition 10/10

luc243 · 03/04/2024 22:11

Craving all the savoury carbs here! I’ve been lucky so far with only mild nausea. Best way I can describe it is the feeling of getting out of the car after a long journey and feeling bleh and like I’ve been thrown around a bit. Was salivating over the thought of of sausages with mash and gravy before bed last night 😂

taytay2020 · 03/04/2024 23:12

@luc243 omg same! Last week it was a 'sick with hunger' feeling (and then I'd eat and I'd be fine for a couple of hours) but as of yesterday I just feel ever so slightly queasy/car sick at all times, and I can eat but I'm not really sure WHAT I want to eat. Maybe I should try carbs? I'm at 6+5 currently, how about you? I've ordered acupressure wristbands to arrive tomorrow, so I'm hoping they'll help as it's such a mild (but irritating) feeling of nausea.

1yearplan · 04/04/2024 04:33

This pregnancy is really weird for me in that I've not gone off any food. Last time round I couldn't stand onions, garlic or any spices. I do however feel constantly hungry.
I'm suffering with insomnia too (and could do with a small, middle of the night, meal now 😂)

luc243 · 04/04/2024 07:06

@taytay2020 I’m 8 weeks today 🥰 and always having that sick with hunger feeling! And not feeling full after eating really. It’s strange. I’ve been trying to stick to my normal foods but I’m just dreaming of carbs all the time 😂

buffonia · 04/04/2024 07:37

Hey, could I join the thread? 6w 3d today, found out a few weeks ago. But after a couple of losses have been trying not get too invested yet. Is anyone experiencing strong symptoms so far? Congratulations to everyone ✨

Sparksi · 04/04/2024 08:29

I don’t feel as food averse or nauseous today and it’s making me really worry!!

piechipsgravy · 04/04/2024 08:48

@Sparksi my nausea lessened LOADS this week and I've literally just been sick for the first time so I'd try not to worry- my symptoms keep coming and going!

Thank you for this! Really sorry to hear you’ve been sick - bet that caught you totally off guard! Still, at least it happened in the holidays and not whilst you were at school 😂

piechipsgravy · 04/04/2024 09:01

@Sparksi it's my own fault because I was curious to see if my nausea got worse if I didn't eat right away and then I tried to take my prenatal on an empty stomach... guess that answers that question 😂 enjoy your less nauseous day and the opportunity to eat!!

Oh no!! Do you usually take yours in the morning? I have mine with my tea and it feels a bit more doable that way

Thank you - alas I spoke too soon and brushing my teeth made me gag so much I was sick 😂 in future I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve been awake more than an hour

piechipsgravy · 04/04/2024 09:49

@Sparksi the box says for best results take first thing on a full stomach so I usually have breakfast and then take them. I've been lucky to have no actual sickness so far so hasn't posed an issue! Oh no!! Well I hope it was nice while it lasted 😂

Just a tip for everyone: if you need to contact a GP during this time, BE PERSISTENT! And absolutely play the pregnancy card to push for an urgent appointment.

I've had a bit of a nightmare the last couple of weeks trying to find out the correct dosage of a particular medicine I'm taking, which is affected by pregnancy, and I'm at an increased risk of miscarriage if it's not correct. I've had to push multiple times to get it sorted:

  1. The blood test they booked in for me was a MONTH away (i.e. an eternity in pregnancy terms). I called back to politely demand an emergency slot and got one.

  2. The results of the blood test were marked 'satisfactory' by someone who clearly hadn't read my notes and seen that I'm pregnant - luckily I could see for myself that they weren't satisfactory at all, so I called up for an urgent appointment today and got one.

End result? I need to double my dosage and my GP is referring me to a specialist antenatal clinic. This would never have happened if I'd passively accepted the original blood test in 4 weeks time, or accepted their original assessment of the blood test result. And if I hadn't double checked the result myself on the NHS app I wouldn't even have known there was a problem - they didn't contact me so I would have just assumed it was fine.

Sorry for the long rant, but basically everyone please be pushy and advocate for yourselves!! You need to!!

Jellybelly888 · 04/04/2024 11:08

@taytay2020 can I ask if this is for a thyroid disorder? If so, I can totally relate. I’ve had my bloods back this morning and they are deemed ‘normal’ when actually they aren’t for a pregnant woman in her first trimester! Utterly frustrating. I’ve rang my midwife and she’s speaking to my consultant today (we haven’t had our first consultant appointment yet) as I’m doctor lead due to being high risk. No one seems to have a clue, which is very worrying and I’m only knowing things aren’t right because of endless research on Mumsnet and recurrent miscarriages!
