@Shroedy @H20202 thanks ladies. Very helpful info xx

purplecolouroffunk · 01/04/2024 10:49

Hello everyone! I’m joining you all a bit late but I’m due in November too (just!) 😊 Currently 5+3. This is baby no 1 for me.

How is everyone doing?

Going to read through the thread and catch up, but I wondered if anyone has been having any spotting? I’ve had some over the past few days and it’s spooking me! Although I’m also a chronic luteal spotter so it’s common for me. Going to phone GP tomorrow (wish it wasn’t a hol today 😂).

purplecolouroffunk · 01/04/2024 10:51

I’ve just realised this is part 2 - I hope I’m not crashing!! 😂

CurlyWurly1991 · 01/04/2024 10:56

Welcome @purplecolouroffunk
I hope the spotting is nothing to worry about. I spotted in my first (successful) pregnancy until almost 6 weeks iirc.

y0rkier0se · 01/04/2024 11:06

I’ve had bad sickness since 6+1, was prescribed prochlorperazine which I’ve been taking daily since. Over the weekend, I’ve been in Paris and haven’t been sick at all. Yesterday I thought maybe the placenta is kicking in now (9+1 today) so I didn’t take my tablet last night. This morning I woke up feeling okay, no nausea, so then panicked that something was wrong as sudden lack of symptoms. DP said I was being silly, everything would be fine etc. Was toying with the idea of booking a reassurance scan for today to make me feel better. Just got out of the bath & was sick, and cried with happiness that I was being sick. DP thinks I’ve lost the plot 🙃😂

Welcome @purplecolouroffunk 💜 and congratulations! Lovely to see you again! Xx

Welcome! I’m 6+2 and also a serial luteal phase spotter. I’ve had a quite a bit of spotting the last week unfortunately but it does seem common and I’m trying not to panic. As a chronic standard spotter I feel like I’m going to be one of those people who just always spots throughout pregnancy 🙈

Yeah I don't really have any symptoms. No sickness and no breast pain or anything.

I do have a sore back and sometimes vivid dreams but it's not uncommon for me to have these anyway. So I'm a little anxious I don't have any of the typical pregnancy symptoms. I'm currently 6+5. Although my sister said her sickness started at bang on 7 weeks both times since just waiting to see what happens.

purplecolouroffunk · 01/04/2024 11:50

Hello @CurlyWurly1991 and @Starrysky812! So nice to see you both here 💜

It’s kinda scary isn’t it! Mine has been light so far and always light pink or very light red.

Have you had a scan yet? I’m debating whether to call 111 to see if they can refer me to the EPU just for peace of mind, since GP is closed today.

purplecolouroffunk · 01/04/2024 11:54

@Daisychain27 also yes! My theory is that if my luteal spotting (which was heavier than this) didn’t stop me getting pregnant, then hopefully this isn’t a bad sign. Trying to stay positive but it can be tricky.

It is! Mines been either light pink or brown. When did your spotting start? Has it been constant or has it stopped and started?

Nope, got a few days to go for scan yet.

Totally get what you mean, I wanted peace of mind too. I do keep trying to explain to doctors I’m a chronic spotter and I’ve always been worried about the consequences for pregnancy, but they don’t seem very concerned!

good luck 😊

I got my positive test a week ago today and it’s been on and off since then. Ever so slightly more persistent the last couple of days maybe, but still very light. How about you?

I actually spotted all the way from 2dpo this cycle so was convinced I was out. I even had some fairly red blood at 9/10dpo. I now wonder if that was implantation. Couldn’t believe it when I saw the positive test!

Exactly the same here - I’ve been worried about luteal spotting and sustaining a pregnancy but my GP doesn’t seem to think it’ll cause an issue. I had a progesterone test at 7dpo this cycle and results were normal. I wish I knew what caused all the spotting!!

Bratzy · 01/04/2024 12:28

Welcome! @purplecolouroffunk

@carlymarie24 I wouldn't say zero, but my symptoms were mild and could've easily been missed, if I didn't have positive tests. It was bang on 5+6 that the more obvious ones kicked in. It's different for every woman and can be completely normal to not have any.

I had a nice holiday, but glad to be home now. Doing activities all day while pregnant wiped me out! The fatigue has really kicked in now. Makes me worry how I'll cope when I'm back in college! I also wouldn't recommend travelling while you have pregnancy nausea and travel sickness 😩...been sick twice since getting back and was surprised I even lasted until I was home (sorry)

Hope you're all having a nice easter.

Kinsters · 01/04/2024 13:17

@Daisychain27 when I used to spot a lot it was caused by a cervical ectropion. It's harmless and doesn't affect the pregnancy. I've noticed I spot a lot less since having DD so I wonder if it's disappeared. I have had a tiny bit of spotting this pregnancy but with DD it was every day for weeks.

I'm almost totally over the nausea I think. For me it started early but seems to have finished early too. Now I just need this bone crushing tiredness to lift. I have zero energy for my DC! Actually running round and playing with them is fine but the incessant why why why phase is even more exhausting than usual.

Scan on wednesday for me!

I had no symptoms for ages and it does freak mw out - it was a relief when my boobs started being sore. That was around 6 weeks, I'm 7 now. I've started feeling a bit off in the morning. Don't know if it'll get worse.

carlymarie24 · 01/04/2024 14:03

Thank you for your responses! I feel very normal but I’m back in work tomorrow on 10 hour shifts all week so I imagine the nausea will come for me then 🤣

RetroButterfly · 01/04/2024 14:13

Hi ladies can I join please? ☺️

I’m 8+6 today (though scan on Wednesday puts me at 8+4 so only 2 days out).

3rd baby, I have a 2 year old boy and an 11 year old boy. Symptoms are wild over here and anxiety is high so need some support!🤣 xx

Sparksi · 01/04/2024 15:40

Does anyone else’s boobs only hurt at certain times of day 😂 mine are agony when I wake up but then feel ok as the day goes on??

Meatballsandpasta · 01/04/2024 15:50

Welcome @purplecolouroffunk and @RetroButterfly

My nausea is back but has been in evenings only for a couple of days which I am loving. Small wins. I'm struggling with general gag reflex all the same - finding it hard to swallow the daily pills and brush my teeth, all sorts. Catching up with rugby from the sofa today, trying to stay hydrated!

@y0rkier0se I can understand the bittersweetness of having symptoms you don't want but appreciate the reassurance 🤣

CurlyWurly1991 · 01/04/2024 16:00

Yes I am currently kicking myself that a few days ago I was wishing for nausea. now it’s here I would quite like it to go away!! I think I’m coming up to 6 weeks and it has just kicked in on top of the fatigue which is the same pattern I’ve had in my previous pregnancies. Lucky to have a week off work so I can rest pretty much as needed (my child is 10 so fairly self sufficient).
I heard good things about vitamin b6 for nausea and might start taking 50mg per day if this ramps up. For anyone interested there are lots of studies on this . Ginger root (capsules) also effective but b6 shown to have the better effect overall.

piechipsgravy · 01/04/2024 16:16

Welcome @purplecolouroffunk @RetroButterfly

@Sparksi mine are fine when I wake up and get worse as the day goes on- they are sorest in the evening when I get into bed!

My symptoms have continued to fluctuate- had a day yesterday of feeling much less sick which was actually very lucky as we went to the IL for lunch so I didn't have to hide my symptoms as much as I was dreading. Nausea back today but not unbearable so far. I got some Gin Gin sweets on Saturday and they have been great!

I only have soreness in one area, it's really weird. Both have grown and my nipples are delicate but the actual breasts themselves I only have pain in one specific area (weirdly it's the same place that I previously had mastitis).

Bratzy · 01/04/2024 16:31

Interestingly, my boobs mostly hurt in the afternoon and early evening. This tiredness is pretty much constant though 😴
