@LegoBear84 I hope everything is ok - that sounds difficult to deal with. I had some issues but I think they're calming down for now.

PennySong · 31/03/2024 07:24

@Bratzy I feel that way about Marmite - I take it on holiday with me 😂 I hope you found some.

Did anyone have any cramping ( bruised like feeling) or soreness after internal scan all in all this week I’ve had 6 internal scans and I can’t tell if this cramping bruised feeling is normal or if it’s from all the internal scans it just feels like inside where the probe was and obviously they move it around a lot to view different parts but it’s really uncomfortable not painful but just like a bruised feeling

I've had quite a few internal scans through ivf but I've never felt that way. Would it be worthwhile talking to the doctor or nurse about it?

SouthwestSis · 31/03/2024 07:56

@TrishyLou1111 I didn't get full blown HG last time but I did need to go to hospital once for IV treatment.
Have you already seen your GP to start some anti-sickness tablets? I've got some cyclizine but only had to take 1 or 2 doses so far.

TrishyLou1111 · 31/03/2024 08:11

@SouthwestSis

I'm already on cyclizine and prochlorperazine.
Nothing ever works. it's honestly soul destroying.

I really see why the abortion rate for HG sufferers is so high when I'm in the throws of it.

mrssunshinexxx · 31/03/2024 08:30

Really feel for you @TrishyLou1111 I can Barely cope with 2 kids and 24//7 nausea. You're a trooper , big hugs

SouthwestSis · 31/03/2024 09:28

Have you tried Xonvea @TrishyLou1111 ?

muddlingthrou · 31/03/2024 09:40

@TrishyLou1111 - I don't have HG as I can only vomit sporadically (average once a day), but my nausea is off the charts this pregnancy 😞

I was bad with my DD, but this feels much worse. I think the stress and fatigue of moving across the country has not helped!

I am on prochloperazine too and it gives me some waves of feeling less like death, but it feels like a long long way to go. Currently 8 weeks 2 days, and my last pregnancy it lasted until 16 weeks.

Do you follow pregnancy sickness support on Instagram etc? I find their posts helpful and if you need to do call their helpline. I am trying my best to take pleasure in small things like fresh air and cuddles from my DD. It is relentless and my heart goes out to you xx

TrishyLou1111 · 31/03/2024 09:41

@mrssunshinexxx thank you. I just don't know how on earth I'm going to cope. I don't want to eat or drink anything x.

@SouthwestSis I have yes, it never worked on its own. I've had to use multiples whilst in hospital to feel some relief and half the time I'm off my tits from it all. I'm 6 weeks today and I thought I'd escape it for a little longer. X

TrishyLou1111 · 31/03/2024 09:46

Hi @muddlingthrou

It's awful isn't it. Are you managing to eat? If so what can you keep down? I can't eat anything. I'm trying to sip little bits of water so I'm not sick but I'm so thirsty I want to drink a whole bottle.

My last pregnancy lasted til around 32 weeks and I felt some relief but the food aversions were very much still there and my food was very bland. I already can't wait for this pregnancy to be over. 😫

Thank you for your message xx

I think I’m miscarrying 😔. Could do with a hand hold and some advice.

I’ve been having brown discharge for about 5/6 days straight and this morning I’ve woken up with a lot of brown blood in my underwear. I’m fearing the worst, I know I’m miscarrying but can anyone advise on what to do given it’s a Sunday and a bank hol weekend? I don’t think my EPU is open? What do I do, or do I do nothing?

I’ve had friends miscarry multiple times and never gone to the GP or anything about it, and then when they’ve gone to the GP for help in getting/staying pregnant, the GP won’t help because there are no “logged” miscarriages on the system. I don’t want this to be me, can someone help? Thank you xxx

Jellybelly888 · 31/03/2024 10:07

@Daisychain27 so sorry to hear this. How many weeks are you now?

Brown blood is old blood, whenever I’ve had a MC (I’ve had 3), it’s always been bright red blood. Have you tried ringing the EPU? There is a chance they could be open?

piechipsgravy · 31/03/2024 10:08

@Daisychain27 I'm so sorry to hear that. I have heard brown blood isn't as much of a concern as red blood so all is not lost yet! My EPU is open 8-12 on bank holidays/Sundays so might be worth checking if they are open?

Thank you ❤️ I’m 6 and a bit weeks. That’s good to hear your experience, thank you for sharing. I know what you mean about it being brown so old blood, but there seems to be a steady but constant stream of it now, I’ve got a pad on, so not sure else would be causing it? 😔 my EPU aren’t answering but the phone is ringing so maybe I’ll keep trying

Kinsters · 31/03/2024 10:09

So sorry you're worrying @Daisychain27 if you can't get through to EPU could you try ringing 111? I've not used them for anything pregnancy related but they were really helpful when my son needed antibiotics.

Thank you, just found out my EPU is always shut on weekends so I’ll try this

muddlingthrou · 31/03/2024 10:25

@TrishyLou1111 - yes, I have to eat pretty much constantly or it makes me feel sicker. I am eating loads of bread and bland food - I am expanding by the day, but have decided not to worry about that for now as just want to survive this period. Yours sounds much worse than mine, I'm sorry! Also up until 32 weeks is so tough - I bet you have a bond in a million with your DC after going through that!

muddlingthrou · 31/03/2024 10:26

@Daisychain27 - wishing you all the best. It always seems like the times you need help fall on a bank holiday. I hope you're able to get help through 111 or elsewhere x

shohopeful · 31/03/2024 10:29

@Daisychain27 my MC was bright red blood and so heavy that I was bleeding through several pads in an hour, and passed two huge clots. Really hoping for the best for you, and hope that this is reassuring. Xxx

Thank you, that is reassuring! It’s just shocking to wake up and see brown blood everywhere ☹️ my sore boobs have totally disappeared too. Oh well, I’m going to ring 111 now and get some help. @muddlingthrou youre right it’s always a weekend or bank holiday! I do find it a bit crazy my EPU is only open Monday - Friday but not a lot I can do about that!

thanks everyone

waryandbored · 31/03/2024 11:07

@Daisychain27 sorry you’re going through this. I hope 111 can help you. I have had bleeding in both pregnancies and the EPU were really helpful and reassuring. They do say that a lot of bright red blood is the main concern but they have always checked me when I’ve had spotting and brown blood. Take care x

Thanks so much, that’s reassuring to hear. 111 have been great, I’m currently on my way to A&E to be referred to a gynae and get some answers. Really appreciate all the support from this thread ❤️
