Great to hear the positive scan news.
I’m the same @CurlyWurly1991 i had a MMC found at a private scan & didn’t think the sonography was very good at all with how things were dealt with. So I’ve decided im definitely not having a private scan.
The EPU told me last time I could have a scan at 8wks & I’m not even going for that, unless I have any issues.
I’m 7 and a half weeks & trying to hold out til 12wks fingers crossed

CurlyWurly1991 · 28/03/2024 13:43

@Figtree11 I’m so sorry to hear you had a MMC too and the private scan care wasn’t good enough. You are an absolute trooper getting to nearly 8 weeks without a scan and pushing through to 12 weeks. Wishing you the very best ❤️

Figtree11 · 28/03/2024 13:48

Thank you @CurlyWurly1991 I’m burying my head in the sand about it I guess. Feeling very worried something will go wrong, but I just don’t think I can cope with scans. The thought of a 12wk scan (if hopefully I get there) fills me with dread. Wishing you all the best with yours, pregnancy after loss is so hard

waryandbored · 28/03/2024 13:53

@CurlyWurly1991 I completely agree. 1st trimester is just full of anxiety and worry. I had the same with my first - some bleeding at the beginning made me worry and it felt like forever before my 12 week scan. I don’t even know how many weeks I am right now which is weird. I remember wishing I had a personal sonographer who could just check in with baby whenever I felt anxious last time!
It doesn’t help that I’m a bit older so have those extra worries as well.

CurlyWurly1991 · 28/03/2024 13:58

@Figtree11 @waryandbored ahhh we will get there one way or another.
I’m 37 and worry about increased risks. Check this most days which gives a little bit of reassurance https://datayze.com/miscarriage-chart

I was 26 when pregnant with my first and just crippled by anxiety, also bled quite a bit at the start so had a few nhs scans. I don’t think you can get through it without the worry. I envy those that do!

Miscarriage Probability Chart

Displays the overall probability of miscarriage - or, conversely, the probability of not miscarrying - based on pregnancy length by day and maternal history.

Congratulations @charlystar6 and @Sunandstars28 🥳

And thank you @piechipsgravy I burst into tears when I read your post. I was a bit naive, I thought getting a really strong second line would stop this waiting and worrying. I don't think I realised how stressful the first trimester is.

Lots of hugs @CurlyWurly1991 I'm a bit of a wreck just now. This bits so difficult. I hope everything will be ok for all of us x

Starrysky812 · 28/03/2024 15:05

@Sunandstars28 @charlystar6 @PennySong huge congratulations ladies. Amazing news and hopefully helped alleviate a little of the worry at this worrying time!

@CadoAvo that's great that you're getting a scan tomorrow! Don't have to wait 2 weeks after all! Keeping everything crossed for you. Hopefully give you some peace of mind ❤️

PennySong · 28/03/2024 15:16

@Starrysky812 I'll feel better when I see a heartbeat. I suppose it's a little reassuring seeing something there. Although the lady scanning me only said it's a possible fetal pole.

piechipsgravy · 28/03/2024 15:35

How are you doing @shohopeful ?

shohopeful · 28/03/2024 15:43

@piechipsgravy I'm shivering like mad. I defo think it's a bug and hope this isn't the start of extreme morning sickness. Nothing bad pregnancy related, no cramping or bleeding. But I can't take anything in beyond water. Really hope the dr helps! Thanks for checking in xxx

Absolutely, 6+4 is very early though so try not to worry. It's in there and that is reassuring. Easier said than done I know! Another 2 weeks can feel like forever can't it. I hope you have some nice things planned to help pass the time xx

I know, I'm so happy that she offered it to me and slightly unexpected. I wonder if they're quiet as she actually offered me 1.30pm today first but I couldn't make that one. Really hoping I see baby in the right place with a little heartbeat, that would be so amazing. Just trying to remain positive but the intrusive thoughts keep sneaking in. At least I don't have to wait much longer.
I'm still going to keep my private scan at 8 weeks too. Since the non refundable deposit has been paid 😂

Starrysky812 · 28/03/2024 16:17

@CadoAvo quite right! Nice to see baby as many times as possible anyway! Try to keep those intrusive thoughts at bay and tell yourself all the rational, reassuring things you would say to one of us if we were worrying. Please keep us posted ❤️

CadoAvo · 28/03/2024 16:23

@Starrysky812 I definitely will ❤️

Hey guys, had horrendous cramping again last night so decided to go to the doctor. I have a UTI and am on antibiotics now. She didn't seem that bothered about the pain and said at 5 weeks it's normal and to take paracetamol.

Hope you aren't feeling too rubbish with the UTI. I had to go to GP on Tuesday as knew I had UTI symptoms, now on antibiotics. I'd rather not be unwell but being in antibiotics does help as to why I won't be enjoying a glass on wine on Easter Sunday when we go over to my parents for dinner!! Don't want to tell them just yet, I think I'm roughly 5w +3 and want to wait another couple of weeks.

piechipsgravy · 28/03/2024 16:33

@shohopeful that's so crap- deffo sounds like a bug and not HG. I'm definitely no expert but don't think you'd go 0-100 that quickly if it was pregnancy related? Possibly food poisoning?

Hey everyone. Finding it hard doing this waiting thing. Feels like time is going so slow. I'll just feel better when I have a scan and see things are as they should be. Now that the inital shock has worn off and I have my mum and baby's dad support, I feel attatched to the idea of being a mum. Nausea and sore boobs are full force again today, so that's some reassurance at least.

Riverstardust · 28/03/2024 16:40

@LegoBear84 aside from the nighttime cramping I felt fine! But today, now I've been to the doctor, I just feel horrible!

That's a great idea, will definitely use that excuse! Was worried about hiding pregnancy symptoms from them but I can just blame it on this infection now so that's good. I hate lying though, but at least it's not forever!

Hope you're feeling better!?

LegoBear84 · 28/03/2024 16:58

@Riverstardust
I feel a lot better today now antibiotics have kicked in, getting up so much in the night had me exhausted last couple of days. Luckily I'm off work as it's the Easter hols so I've had a few sofa days. Definitely keep on top of taking paracetamol as that helped too. Hope your symptoms ease soon.
I know the white lies aren't ideal but it's not for long.
Keeping it quiet from my 5 year old is hard work too haha! Not planning on telling him for a while yet as once he knows then everyone will know 😆

Riverstardust · 28/03/2024 17:05

@LegoBear84 I'm glad you're feeling better! Thankfully I have a 4 day weekend now so can just chill!

Haha, brilliant! Can't imagine how hard that must be to keep from him!

Sparksi · 28/03/2024 17:06

I feel sick which has caught me off guard because I’m not a sicky person usually - literally think I’ve had 3 sick days in my whole life of vomiting, childhood included. Never been sick after a hangover or anything like that.

I have been dry heaving so much in the mornings, ok-ish early afternoon then it comes back with a vengeance in the evening. I’ve heard it’s a good sign though. I find sipping full fat Coke helps.

muddlingthrou · 28/03/2024 17:13

@Sparksi - this is me! Usually I have an iron stomach, this pregnancy (and the previous one with my DD) I am nauseous all day long, and any sort of motion absolutely ruins me. Not ideal as we're halfway through a drive from London to Nottingham - wish me luck 😩

Good luck!! People do say the more nauseous you are that it can be a sign of a girl? Makes me wonder! Maybe your DD is getting a little sister 🩷

charlystar6 · 28/03/2024 18:32

Thank you for the love today. I appreciate you all. 💗

Sparksi · 28/03/2024 18:40

Strangest thing just happened. Ordered a Chinese takeaway at my local and the lady (who I always chat with) asked if I am pregnant!!! So spooked. I’d not hinted anything or spoken about any symptoms, she said she ‘just knew’. Wow
