Good luck @charlystar6 what time is the scan

Might have to look into those! Do they make any of your symptoms worse at all?
How are you finding pregnancy and being vegan?

I feel fine on them and was taking them through conception too. :) they’re on offer with a points card in Boots

Sparksi · 28/03/2024 08:57

@Meatballsandpasta yay lots of us on here it would seem!

I’m guessing the meatballs in your username are Linda Mc meatballs 😂

@Sparksi never! I was slightly addicted to Tesco's "amazeballs" which I think are now just Wicked Kitchen. I find the LmC stuff repeats on me so generally avoid it

I love the Wicked range but our nearest Tesco is over half an hour away!!! For some reason though in this pregnancy I have gone totally off ‘fake meat’. I really don’t care for it at all and prefer non processed plant protein.
Have you had any cravings?

Jellybelly888 · 28/03/2024 09:35

I know this doesn’t make me a veggie but since being pregnant I’ve gone off all meat and the thought of eggs make me want to throw up. I’ve been dining on jacket potatoes and veggie finger sandwiches! Any recommendations for tasty veggie brands would be appreciated x

Thank you everybody.

It is at 12pm. X

Meatballsandpasta · 28/03/2024 10:46

@Jellybelly888 happy to adopt you as an honorary veggie! My big recommendation for easy veggie pregnancy food is those little bags of filled pasta (tortellini etc). Boil for 5 mins and they're done and they don't smell of anything other than "hot" but they have vegetables in. Sainsbury's do some great frozen veggie patties and things which go well in wraps if you can handle them too.

@Sparksi my only cravings so far have been for apples (?!?!?!) and nowadays I'm mostly just led by aversions. You?

Meatballsandpasta · 28/03/2024 10:47

Good luck @charlystar6 ! Fingers crossed you get good news

Riverstardust · 28/03/2024 11:17

Hey guys, had horrendous cramping again last night so decided to go to the doctor. I have a UTI and am on antibiotics now. She didn't seem that bothered about the pain and said at 5 weeks it's normal and to take paracetamol.

This was me in my first pregnancy. Actual meat made me want to hurl, but I could just about eat quorn nuggets and quorn fillets. Maybe see how you get on with something like that?

Riverstardust · 28/03/2024 11:21

@Jellybelly888 second what @Welshcake15 says Quorn nuggets are great! DH prefers them to the meat ones.

H20202 · 28/03/2024 11:38

@Riverstardust no way (not a big chicken nugget after all!!!) so glad you went to gp and got to the bottom of it - hope you start to feel better soon.

@charlystar6 good luck with your scan!

xx

shohopeful · 28/03/2024 11:42

My vomiting and diarrhoea has slowed down but can't take anything in beyond water. Got a drs apt at 4:30 to check my kidneys etc! Just the worst timing and hoping I'm ok for the scan tomorrow and this isn't affecting the baby 😢

Riverstardust · 28/03/2024 11:52

@H20202 I honestly thought I was just being silly and it was normal cramping! 😂 Still a self certified nug! 😂 Thank you ☺️

CadoAvo · 28/03/2024 12:15

Yesterday I phoned the EPU about my back pain and they told me to take co codamol and to phone back today. I phoned today and told them the pain is a lot better but it's still there. They've given me a scan for tomorrow at 11.30am 🥹🤞🏼

charlystar6 · 28/03/2024 12:29

We have a baby and a heartbeat! Measuring 7w2 instead of 7w6. Over the moon! Was actually expecting the worst.
They explained that it was as far away from their probe as possible high up in the uterus so made it had to see but all is fine.

Shroedy · 28/03/2024 12:31

Fantastic news, @charlystar6!!! So happy for you, the rollercoaster of these early weeks is REAL but that's such great news that baby is there, looking safe and sound!

CadoAvo · 28/03/2024 12:33

@charlystar6 yay congrats!! 🥳

PennySong · 28/03/2024 12:34

@charlystar6 Good luck with your scan.

I'm 6+4 and I'm having to go back in 2 weeks because they can't see things well enough. I might not be as far along as we thought because I did ivf and I think it can make the dates off. I'm still really stressed. Everytime I get past a 2WW another one crops up.

Mum says she can see it. She's a sweetheart.

@charlystar6 So pleased for you!! x

Sunandstars28 · 28/03/2024 13:01

Hi ladies,

I booked an early scan for today as I was getting nervous (and impatient!). I thought I was 7 weeks today but measuring 6 weeks. A little early to see anything, but managed to capture a flicker of bean's heart rate 🥰 feeling relieved that everything is where it should be

waryandbored · 28/03/2024 13:19

It’s lovely to hear everyone’s positive scan news! I’m patiently waiting for my next scan in 8 days to hopefully see some progress. I am still spotting very lightly and having some general aches. The nausea seems to have kicked in over the last couple of days. I’ve not been sick yet but feel sick unless I’m eating or have just eaten. My trousers are feeling tighter and I’m sure it’s because I’m having about six meals a day 🙈

piechipsgravy · 28/03/2024 13:27

Congrats @charlystar6 !

@PennySong I can definitely see it!!

Lovely to hear some positive scan news… offering a handhold for those that have had early scans and need to wait for a rescan to know more.
I have mixed feelings about going for a private scan this time, it was quite traumatic last time with the MMC and I didn’t think the sonographer dealt with things very well. Just bits like signposting where to go next, outside of the nhs I just don’t feel I’m in as good hands.
Not sure where that leaves things as I’m a ball of anxiety at just over 5 weeks. I’m really tired and under the weather with a bad cold. Sure I had more nausea by this time in previous pregnancies but I just think, well there really is nothing that anyone can do to make this have a positive outcome. Just take my vitamins and don’t drink booze etc and try and get through it. I don’t think anyone enjoys the first trimester!!
