@Bratzy for sure, I think it's fine. There's loads of information out there about vegetarians having healthy babies. I'm sure if it was bad, they'd tell you!

@Starrysky812 that sounds like an interesting vitamin tbh, a lot of sites I've looked at say folic acid and vit d are the most important to supplement!

strawberrycake12 · 27/03/2024 20:58

I'm veggie! Recommend this book for any vegetarians, so much good information ☺️

@Riverstardust yes that's what I've seen too! Before I got these ones from the midwife, I was taking Boots own pregnancy vitamins and they were just folic acid and vitamin D. My GP also confirmed that was all that was needed when TTC so I never bothered with the Pregnacare type stuff. Much more expensive too!

Tried the pregnacare stuff and it made me so ill, I stopped. I just take vit d and folic acid and did when ttc too!

Congratulations on your scan @Shroedy !!

it is lovely to hear all this positive scan news !!

Vitamins wise I take Proceive because I’m older (37) and am a fan of supplements anyway! I think vitamin d and folic acid are the main ones anyway. I definitely feel a bit queasy after taking them in the morning but manage to push through.

still feeling rotten with this cold but rested this afternoon so I’m hoping it won’t kick my butt too much longer.

Starrysky812 · 27/03/2024 22:14

@CurlyWurly1991 I'm 37 too! ❤️

Shroedy · 27/03/2024 22:56

Thanks all - can breathe a little sigh of relief for the moment!

I'm also veggie (there seem to be a lot of us!) - lots of protein and veg, all good! We're bringing up my son veggie too (my husband is a meat eater) which flummoxes some people but if you know what you're doing it's really easy I find.

Does anyone else have insomnia it's the first night I've had it maybe it's excitement/overwhelming was have been having early nights until tonight

PennySong · 28/03/2024 05:34

Congratulations to @Shroedy and @Magicmushroomsauce on your scans! I'm going for mine later today. So nervous.

I've been doing a stick test twice a week cause I'm stressing. It's cool to see the line get darker and darker though.

No but I'm getting up to pee a lot. 😂 If I wasn't working all day I probably would though. I have adhd and I can't take my meds. But saying that I'm handling it really well and I'm a bit surprised tbh.

I sometimes forget I'm pregnant and then remember again. It's so amazing. I had ivf and managed to get pregnant in one cycle. I'm taking the progesterone and estrogen. Looking forward to the 2nd trimester when the placenta takes over.

shohopeful · 28/03/2024 06:31

Morning everyone. I've been up all night with sickness, and now also having diarrhoea. I did go for dinner last night so unsure if this is pregnancy related or food related. Either way I've not slept and I feel awful! I absolutely hate throwing up!! Trying to just sip water but that's coming up too 😩😩

piechipsgravy · 28/03/2024 06:47

Oh no @shohopeful that's horrible! Hope you recover quickly

@tulip2411 I had it a bit early on I'm 10'weeks now and it's eased but had it bad in third trimester with my last ended up sleeping separately from my husband earlier ( we always separate for first 6 months so he can sleep for work and get up with other kids) so I could watch Netflix for hours on a night rather than fight trying to get to sleep.

@carlymarie24 I'm taking folic and vit d from boots but got the healthy start vits x2 yesterday from midwife which I'll go on to when these have gone. Also Spatone 3 times a week

charlystar6 · 28/03/2024 07:55

Wish me lick today ladies.

Some might remember last week I had an early scan at 6w5d and could only see a sac but no baby. I have been in limbo for a week know and have come to terms with what will be will be.

I have my follow up scan later today to see if there is a baby or not. To be honest I half expected to have a mc before today based on that scan but I haven't and my body is still telling me its pregnant. I am hopeful, but prepared for the worst.

charlystar6 · 28/03/2024 07:58

Wish me luck!**

Dont lick me haha

luc243 · 28/03/2024 08:05

Thinking of you today @charlystar6 🩷

CadoAvo · 28/03/2024 08:29

@charlystar6 good luck!!

@tulip2411 yes I've had some insomnia, last night I couldn't get to sleep for ages but woke up this morning feeling rather bright thankfully. Will probably hit a wall after lunch 😅

@shohopeful oh no, hope you're feeling better soon!

Sparksi · 28/03/2024 08:32

@Riverstardust @Bratzy I’m vegan! Pregnacare gummies are vegan (so veggie obvs) and they’re quite alright

Sparksi · 28/03/2024 08:32

@Shroedy yay! So glad to hear all is well and you saw the heartbeat.

Sparksi · 28/03/2024 08:36

I don’t know why it hid my comment! I was just saying the brand of vitamin I take as someone who doesn’t eat meat 😂🤷‍♀️

1yearplan · 28/03/2024 08:38

Good luck @charlystar6. I had that awful week wait between scans too, you have my sympathies. Hoping everything will be okay.

I've got my booking in appointment today. I'm armed with a question list 😂 sorry midwife!

Might have to look into those! Do they make any of your symptoms worse at all?
How are you finding pregnancy and being vegan?

Meatballsandpasta · 28/03/2024 08:51

@Riverstardust @Bratzy @Sparksi I'm vegan! Hello fellow veggie-based people. I'm taking Proceive which is vegan, and "together health" vegan omega 3. No extra symptoms from either 😊 If anything, I think I'm more "regular" on the pregnancy Proceive than I was on the conception Proceive, so I'm a big fan 🤣
