@CadoAvo, I'm sorry to hear you're having a rubbish time with your back. Could it be a uti? That sometimes causes back pain? It might be worth checking the pain out with the EPU. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Thank you for the advice re EPU. I wasn't sure if it was worth phoning them since it's not stomach pain or bleeding. The woman on the phone was so nice, took all my details and asked lots of questions. As I've not taken any painkillers today she said I've to take paracetamol or co-codamol today/regularly and phone back tomorrow if it's not any better. It's made me feel better just knowing I felt listened to 🥲

Magicmushroomsauce · 27/03/2024 13:05

So had my second scan at EPU, and it was good news. There’s a little heart beat in there. Measuring 2 weeks behind my last period. But they had seen 2 weeks growth since my first scan at around 4 weeks. I must have just ovulated reallly late that month.

piechipsgravy · 27/03/2024 13:43

@Shroedy good luck with the scan- let us know how you get on!

That's great news!

Forget everything I said about not having nausea. It's well and truly kicked in today 🤢 bad timing, as I'm going on a little holiday this weekend.

Daydreamer94 · 27/03/2024 14:11

Honestly feeling like death today! Couldnt sleep due to cramps! And now super nauseous, literally have to eat every five minutes because I am starving and just so tired. Countdown to long weekend pending. 1 more day of work/school run to go :’)

Oh so pleased they saw a heartbeat. I have my second scan at EPU next friday but with the way I am feeling I am sure something is happening inside me. I was measuring correctly but was super early so they could only see a sac and no embryo which they said was normal. I’ll be 6+5 next Friday x

Does anyone else cry when they read what their baby is doing just now? Reading on NHS website or What To Expect website, at 6 weeks (where I'm at just now) the embryo is the size of a pea and has little indentations forming on the side of (what will be) it's head, which will become it's ear canals. It's so unbelievably amazing, I can't help but feel overwhelmed 😢 maybe just the hormones though! 🥰

It is amazing 🥰 I love the weekly updates and 3D/moving pic thingy on Pregnancy+ app.

Shroedy · 27/03/2024 18:09

Just back from my scan - everything exactly as it should be and saw the little heartbeat flickering away 😊

SouthwestSis · 27/03/2024 18:37

Awww lovely news @Shroedy !!
I was hoping to hold out until 8 weeks to have a first scan for reassurance after a previous loss at 6+ but I think I'm gonna crack and book for 7+2 when my little boy is in nursery and my husband can come with.

carlymarie24 · 27/03/2024 19:00

Hi what vitamins is everyone taking ? I don’t like multivitamins I think they make me feel sick so I’m taking folic acid and vitamin d hoping this is enough 🙈

I'm taking the same, plus iron because I'm always in deficient. Then the other day I just noticed on my Vit D box it says consult your doctor if you are pregnant 🤦‍♀️ Probably fine but will have to double check

Bratzy · 27/03/2024 19:09

I'm taking multis, but I'm vegetarian so have to be extra mindful about getting the right nutrients.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 27/03/2024 19:30

@carlymarie24 yea multi vitamins made my morning sickness so much worse. I'm taking vit d and folate (folic acid) and that is the only ones your midwife checks at booking app.

Workissue25 · 27/03/2024 19:46

Last summer I had a scan which detected an ovarian cyst (due to pain and abnormal periods) I never had a follow up scan and wondering if I might be offered an earlier scan than my 12 week one just incase it is still there. Has anyone experienced this before?

I had to self refer online to the community midwife and yet to have an appointment thorough to see them but did write about the cyst in the notes section.

12 week scan came in the post today

Also a vegetarian! But I'm just making sure I'm eating plenty of variety! Multi vitamins make me feel so ill! I suppose with the pregnancy symptoms, it wouldn't be much different! 😂

DH has asked me if I would eat meat for the good of the baby but I think after 12 years, that would make me so ill!

My nausea only kicked in today. If it gets too bad, I'll stop with the multi vitamins. Eating meat again could definitely make you ill. I won't be eating it unless the experts say it's absolutely necessary for baby (can't imagine it would be!)

Starrysky812 · 27/03/2024 20:11

I'm taking the NHS Healthy Start vitamins for pregnant and breastfeeding women. My midwife gave them to me for free at every appointment in my last pregnancy and I just continued them (buying them from pharmacy after DD's birth) because I was breastfeeding and then TTC. They just have 10 micrograms of Vit D, 70mg of Vit C and 400 micrograms of folic acid. I've not noticed them making my nausea worse xx
