Hey guys, new thread for the April due dates.

Looks like the other thread maxed out before someone could make a new one, so I'll tag a few people and then if they could tag a few and they tag a few and so on, so we can try and get everyone in.

There's no way I can get everyone tagged myself, it's a nightmare on mobile.

@Applesandpears23 @Retrogamer I'm due tomorrow and went for a midwife appt today and was told baby isn't low enough for her to do a sweep and was unsuccessful after giving it a go! She's booked me in for another try on Friday and an induction at 41 weeks but said that the hospital will call me when they have availability and it could be between 41 & 41+3 but to just expect a call! Did you guys manage to get successful sweeps? I feel like if baby was lower and basically ready I would be more open to an induction as I'm quite ready for baby to make an appearance!

That’s great that you can wait for your induction at home. Much better than hanging around on a ward for days. No sweeps here - I haven’t asked for one.

Aprilpudding24 · 03/04/2024 15:20

@MumDaisy1980 congratulations xx

I had a bloody show this morning and again half an hour ago. I'm having light cramps now, but I don't think they could be considered contractions. This is so confusing as FTM. I know that the bloody show doesn't have to mean that baby is ready to come, but I really hope he does 🤞

Iamcatmum · 03/04/2024 16:16

@SummerOak Very exciting!! cramps could definitely be very early contractions, and the bloody show is normally a good sign that baby will come within the week at least! X

BVIre · 03/04/2024 20:57

Anyone else just not showing any signs of labour yet🙈 I’m due on Sunday so currently 39+3 weeks and honestly feel the exact same, I thought there would be small signs or some sort of change this week lol but that’s no the case at all - lol spot the first time mum!

I would’ve thought that I would have ‘dropped’ by now or my heart burn would’ve got less, but I’m still not even that hugely uncomfortable! Haven’t had any Braxton hicks at all! No increased discharge or diarrhoea or any of the signs they tell you to look out for! Have fully convinced myself I’ll go right to my induction date but just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat?

Would love to hear stories of women feeling like me and then the next day they went into labour lol, would be so ideal this week as my husband is off work for Easter so it means he could just continue the time off as oppose to go back to come off again if that makes sense!

sweetdreams23 · 03/04/2024 21:01

@BVIre hey! With my first baby I had no signs at all just woke up one night at 2:30 with mild pains, then had the show and clear out (sorry tmi!) then the contractions ramped up and I gave birth by 6:30am!! So from my experience it can change very quickly! That was at 39wk xx

Oh exciting. If you aren’t in labour now I hope you are getting some rest.

I am 39+5 and no signs yet. Getting impatient too!

ZB86 · 04/04/2024 09:19

@BVIre I'm 38+1 and no signs. I don't feel ready yet though as I feel very unirganised and have a lot to get ready in the house (not just final touches, LOTS). I'm hoping for a due date baby but I know it's unlikely especially with this being my first.

Aprilpudding24 · 04/04/2024 09:31

Anyone else who suffers from PGP having extreme pain now the baby is engaged. I’ve spoken to the midwife and unsure whether I’m in early labour or it’s just strong pains from the baby pushing on my pelvis now she’s engaged. She doesn’t seem too worried as I’ve had no other signs ie a show or waters breaking but the pains do come in waves but it could just be everytime the baby moves its causing pain. It’s so confusing!

Aprilpudding24 · 04/04/2024 09:32

I should add I’m 38 weeks so it wouldn’t be too strange to be going in to labour

Mrsttcno1 · 04/04/2024 10:17

I don’t have PGP @Aprilpudding24 but can totally relate to the pain now that baby’s head is engaged! We were at the hospital for scans on Sunday and then had my midwife appointment on Tuesday and between Sunday and Tuesday she had actually come down loads, they said if her head was any further down you’d be able to see it from the other side😂 now that her head is engaged I keep getting the most intense pains, they really catch me by surprise! My midwife did say this is common though and said actual labour pains start at the top of your bump whereas these pains are right at the bottom and literally feel like getting kicked in the vagina😂

Aprilpudding24 · 04/04/2024 10:43

@Mrsttcno1 yeah I can relate to that, she’s feels so low down.
Feels like a good sneeze n she’d fall out at the moment 😂

im half hoping it does mean labour is imminent. I don’t fancy up to 3 more weeks of this pain, then labour on top, if they’re not contractions 😩

Nataliemama · 04/04/2024 12:00

I’m 39+5 days and no signs of BH. A lot of pressure pushing down. Less kicking not so fierce. Always wanting to go for a wee bit been a trickle. Had diarrhoea for a week now. Lower back and bum pains like aching. This is my second child. Going for a sweep today with midwife ( 4th April) so hoping this will help a lot.
But I am nervous and anxious as with my first it wasn’t the best Labor. Finding the last 2 weeks my mind goes into over drive and I’ll be crying alot. Obviously when my partner is not here and at work. Midwife knows I’m scared and nervous.

I hope the sweep went well today. I know what you mean about emotions, mine are all over the place.

BuzzybeeMum · 04/04/2024 16:14

@BVIre I'm exactly the same! 39+3 weeks and though I don’t necessarily want her to come yet, I’m really wanting her to come before my induction date. It would be amazing if there was some way to guarantee that she’d come by then, then I’d just relax and enjoy the time to myself. 😂

No signs of labour happening any time soon…

mrsed1987 · 04/04/2024 16:29

Hi all 38 +4 today and no signs really aside from baby has dropped. My first was born 38 +1 so was expecting similar!

Booked in for a sweep on Monday and Thursday so fingers crossed they are successful!

Nataliemama · 04/04/2024 16:56

Just had the sweep done. And one is booked for 8th if this one don't work. Also my midwife has
Booked me in for induction on the 13th April.
Fingers crossed something happens over the weekend

Ttcmumma · 04/04/2024 16:58

So jealous of all of you being offered sweeps and inductions. I'm due Monday and next appointment is Tuesday. Mentally and physically need her out at this point 😭

Applesandpears23 · 04/04/2024 17:03

I went to get a haircut today and had a walk. I was hoping that it would kick things off but hasn’t so far.
