Hey guys, new thread for the April due dates.

Looks like the other thread maxed out before someone could make a new one, so I'll tag a few people and then if they could tag a few and they tag a few and so on, so we can try and get everyone in.

There's no way I can get everyone tagged myself, it's a nightmare on mobile.

Hi all! Just wanted to share that I had my baby boy on 12th April after a 50+ hour labour. Baby had to be delivered by a mix of pushing and forceps in theatre due to me having a suspected infection. Not an easy time of it with labour and delivery by any means but he's here safe and sound and is a little super star baby!
Breastfeeding is going very well, anyone yet to have their baby 100% make use of the midwives for tips and help as they have been fab and been feeding well since the first day. We took some of the MAM dummies that have flat teats we weren't planning either way to use them but baby had to have a lot of poking and prodding due to the infection so we have been using them in hospital and no nipple confusion either. They really help him soothe when I needed to get something done while alone in hospital.
Good luck to everyone still waiting for their arrivals!

I had my baby boy on Saturday night at home in the birth pool as planned. 41 weeks and 1 day so he kept us waiting. I had declined a 40 week induction which felt a bit risky but I am so glad I did because none of the things they were warning of happened and it was lovely to be at home.

Congratulations @ZB86 @Cora24601 @Applesandpears23 wishing you all a speedy recovery.

Late joining this thread!
Congratulations to everyone who’s had their April babies!
I’m 39+2 today.. first baby and feeling absolutely terrified about the birth even though I am so ready and excited to meet our little boy. Does anyone else feel like this? 🥹

Iamcatmum · 15/04/2024 22:54

Hiya @Ktx6 - bit behind you at 38+4 and also feeling nervous but also excited. I have two friends recently given birth - both had really positive births, so it’s made me feel a bit more confident that it’s possible. Definitely recommend seeking out some positive birth stories :)

Janeykat · 16/04/2024 03:16

Hi all! 39 weeks today and scheduled to be at the hospital in 4 hours for my elcs😯 my first was an emcs, its so strange knowing the time that it will happen and obviously I can sleep a wink! Very annoyed at myself for being awake while my partner is sleeping peacefully next to me😅 also found out only yesterday that my hospital has kept very strict visiting rules and only my partner is allowed visit me during my postnatal stay, my son will be very disappointed 😢 So im excited, terrified, worried, sleep deprived and also very hungry🤣 good luck to everyone left to have their april babies and hopefully will be updating this thread soon with happy news😊

This is exactly how I feel! I swing constantly between “omg I can’t wait to meet my baby I want her here right now” and “omg I’m terrified to give birth I hope I’m just pregnant forever”😂😂

@Ktx6 I'm feeling much the same!
I'm 39+3 today also, first baby.
No signs of any movement towards labour though, just hoping I don't go too overdue although I know in my local trust they offer induction at 41 weeks.

babyhiding · 16/04/2024 23:18

Feeling period cramps this evening, I'm 39 weeks now so hoping this will build up and this will be it 🤞I'm absolutely done with pregnancy though.

Mrsttcno1 · 17/04/2024 07:24

I’m booked in for an induction this afternoon, just hoping it goes smoothly and doesn’t take tooo long! X

Ttcmumma · 17/04/2024 07:26

@Mrsttcno1 good luck!

Mrsttcno1 · 17/04/2024 07:34

Thank you @Ttcmumma ! I can’t lie I am extremely nervous but going to just try and stay positive! X

Ttcmumma · 17/04/2024 07:40

@Mrsttcno1 you've got this 💪🏻 and don't be afraid to ask for pain relief even if you go in hoping you don't. You never know until you're in the middle of it. Gas and air worked wonders for me this time. They're worth it and you'll begin to forget the pain the second baby is here. I'm sat with my one week old in awe still. You'll have tour baby in your arms soon x

Pinkstuffs · 17/04/2024 07:42

@Mrsttcno1 my hospital want to induce me this week too as my baby still seems to be measuring small. I’m going for a private scan this morning as I’m skeptical of the measurements, they’ve all been done by the same person and they’ve really struggled. Good luck!

sweetdreams23 · 17/04/2024 08:33

I had my daughter at the weekend I booked an induction at 39 weeks due to a previous fast labour. It was perfect, I didn’t need any of the hormone inductions they just broke my waters and she arrived 3 hours later. Good luck everyone still waiting on their babies!

cheddarsandtoast · 17/04/2024 09:10

This baby is never going to come 🙄 40 plus 6 now. My first was 40 plus 10 so shouldn’t be surprised but I was really hoping this one might be a bit earlier. Midwife this afternoon for another stretch and sweep.

cheddarsandtoast · 17/04/2024 09:11

@sweetdreams23 congratulations! That sounds like a perfect induction 🥰

SummerOak · 17/04/2024 14:27

Congratulations @sweetdreams23

Good luck @Mrsttcno1

I had my baby on Friday by planned c section. Never knew a love like it, in a complete bubble. Does anyone use any type of phone app to track feeding times etc?

Ttcmumma · 18/04/2024 06:35

I think baby girl has caught her first cold from her big brother 😔. Anyone know if this is dangerous or she just needs to ride it out? Going to call my midwives in a bit. Shes 8 days old today. My 5 year old returned to school Monday and of course has caught a cold. Seems mild for him but just worry as she's so tiny. Shes sneezing, producing a thick green snot and occasionally coughing. You can hear she's all bunged up before she sneezes out the snot

I am sorry to hear that. It is horrid when they are sick. Is she still eating well and nappies ok? Any fever?

babyhiding · 18/04/2024 08:54

@Ttcmumma I'm so sorry to hear this, i hope your little one feels better. It's good that you're contacting your midwife. You have technically given birth in the best time considering coming out of the cold season but still managed to catch one in the tail end of it. I'm worried with the same thing as i have an older dc who is back at school this week and worried we might catch something, wondering if baby 2 is clinging on still to avoid this...

39+ 2 and still not sign although i had period cramps the other night but i guess the baby has dropped and that's what it was.

Ttcmumma · 18/04/2024 09:29

@Applesandpears23 seems to be eating best from a bottle with her nose getting blocked so expressing my milk for her, nappies still wet and plenty of poos. No sign of a fever at the moment so hoping she manages ok. Just so scary when they are so tiny! My son's first illness was definitely not this young.

@babyhiding thank you! It's so tough with an older one, the second he goes back to school some kind of germs come home. He's been washing his hands and being so careful bless him but just inevitable when it's in the home I guess! This little one didn't come until 40+2 so hoping your bubba comes soon for you x

94kj · 18/04/2024 09:31

@Emilyj13 I havent had my baby yet but I've heard good things about the huckleberry app so I have downloaded it ready - you can track feeding, sleep, Nappies, loads of things on it x
