Hey guys, new thread for the April due dates.

Looks like the other thread maxed out before someone could make a new one, so I'll tag a few people and then if they could tag a few and they tag a few and so on, so we can try and get everyone in.

There's no way I can get everyone tagged myself, it's a nightmare on mobile.

Congratulations @SummerOak

@Mrsttcno1 I feel the same! My hospital gave me a tour of the birth suites n they’re actually really nice with mood lighting and music which made me feel a bit better as its only nhs n so not what I was imagining at all, but I still feel a bit disassociated with it all. Like Im just gonna be pregnant forever. I’m a first time mum too so I can’t even get my head around how life changing it’s going to be as I can’t compare it to anything. Seems mad it won’t just be me I’m looking out for anymore in just a few days haha.

ASGIRC · 07/04/2024 13:08

@SummerOak massive congratulations!!!!

@ZB86 @Cora24601 maybe mine got worse, because it wasnt too bad in pregnancy. The pain goes away as soon as I start moving my hands, though, and it only happens when I sleep, probably due to the lack of movement... I dont know!

Hope its different for you, and it improves immediately after birth!

Things that improved straight after birth for me: Hemorrhoids!!!! They were gone within a couple of days! Back pain!!! Gone instantly!!!

In tomorrow for my elective c section. Nervous but ready!

Only thing worrying me is my older boy - those who have had their April babies with an older sibling at home, how have they coped? He is 5. He semi understands but I don't think it'll hit him until baby brother or sister comes home.

Ttcmumma · 07/04/2024 20:33

40 weeks tomorrow and getting ready for work I am 🤦🏼‍♀️ please come soon little girl 😭 even deweeded the garden for an hour and a half today in hopes it would start something. Went for a walk, ate dates, used the ball. Nothing! She cannot be forced 😅

Congrats to all of those who have had your precious babies!

@jeepjeep4 my sister has a two and a half year old and just had a c section on Friday. Before he was here my nephew kept saying he was going to hit baby brother, baby brother can't come in the house etc we didn't think it was going to go well! Low and behold he is utterly smitten with his baby brother and so so happy! My son is now jealous because his sister is due first but his cousin beat her, he's not impressed 🤣

jeepjeep4 · 07/04/2024 21:06

@Ttcmumma that's so lovely hope my boy follows suit.

Hope baby girl comes very soon for you. Can't believe you're working! Make sure to rest up too

Ttcmumma · 08/04/2024 08:49

@jeepjeep4 I'm self employed, running my own business so don't get paid if I don't work, can't afford much maternity leave so want every second of it to be with baby. So working until i go into labour, did the same with my son but he thankfully came at 38 weeks so he didn't have me working so long 😅

sugarplum33 · 08/04/2024 09:01

@jeepjeep4 hope it goes well today!

Nataliemama · 08/04/2024 11:29

Went for my second sweep today. And got told nothing has changed from my first time going. All ready booked in for Saturday to be induced.

Mrsttcno1 · 08/04/2024 11:38

How long ago was your first one @Nataliemama ? How do you feel about induction? I’ve had a call from the hospital this morning asking if we want to be put on the list for induction but as I’m not actually overdue yet & haven’t tried a sweep yet I’m holding off for now x

So had my first sweep Thursday. And then one today. Booked in this Saturday for induction. I'm nervous as Never had one before, she told me what they do and all but still scared as hell.. I'm 40+2 days.
My midwife booked me in hospital for induction on Thursday for the 13th April.
With my first child I had sweep and then 4 days my water broke. And I was 40+4. This was in 2015.

Amf2508 · 08/04/2024 14:39

Had baby boy on my due date the 5th April at 23:23 weighing 7lb 15oz... went in for reduced movements ended up being induced.. had my waters broken at 11:30am but failed to start contractions by 3:30pm so was put on the drip, completely unaware at how much more intense and agonising my contractions would be and only had gas and air... was told afterwards most people have an epidural! Probably could have done with one myself, but it was too late! Had to have the drip quite strong to actually get my body to contract, which is a nasty joke from the universe after weeks of false labour!!!
4 hrs of active labour, 17 minutes of pushing and my lovely little boy just made it on his due date!

Mrsttcno1 · 08/04/2024 14:50

Congratulations @Amf2508 !! Did they just offer you an induction when you went for reduced movements as it was your due date anyway? X

Amf2508 · 08/04/2024 14:56

@Mrsttcno1 yeah I was booked in for tomorrow anyway and they were quiet on delivery suite. We took it because it worked better for us and as he was fully cooked and I was continuously in pain it was a godsend. Also worked out that my partner got to stay the whole duration because they were so quiet and I never needed to be moved to the ward, just got our own little room together till we were discharged! So although my Labour was a lot worse than my other 2 children's, the after experience was better!

MumDaisy1980 · 08/04/2024 15:21

@Amf2508 @SummerOak many congratulations!!!

Knock123 · 08/04/2024 16:53

Congrats to everyone who has had their babies! You are absolutely hardcore @Amf2508 I refused to have the drip until the anaesthetist was free for my epidural last time!

I have been diagnosed with ICP and itching like mad at night. My levels aren't bad enough to do anything urgently but I am up the hospital for a growth scan Wednesday and my midwife has said if the itching is really bad I can probably persuade a Dr to let me have a sweep and get an induction booked in. Would have liked things to have started naturally but I am also just so done I don't care any more.

ZB86 · 08/04/2024 18:12

@Amf2508 congratulations! Hope you and baby boy are both doing well.

SummerOak · 08/04/2024 20:48

Congratulations @Amf2508!! Hope you and your little boy are getting all the cuddles.

We were discharged from the hospital today, had to stay in for observation because he passed a bit of meconium right before I birthed him. Then we decided to stay another night as I'm having issues with him latching properly. Glad we did as he was cluster feeding all night and the extra help was very welcome. I'm hoping he gets better at feeding, this is exhausting.

Baby is here for me too, a boy! C section went great. Loving this time feeding and bonding.

Good luck everyone still hanging on - whoever is next, it's worth the wait !

BVIre · 08/04/2024 22:16

Congratulations to all those who have had their babies🤍🤍 so so lovely to see!!

I need advice as a first time mum who is now past her due date- how do you not go mad with the ‘any signs of baby yet’ messages? I know people mean well & are just excited but honestly I’m quite a private person and am a wee bit fed up already and all I can picture is I have another 5 days of this until my induction date!

I just don’t understand the point of the messages?! Like if baby was here and I wanted you to know you would know? My hubby says I’m being grumpy and people are just being excited but I don’t have the patience of another 5 days

ZB86 · 08/04/2024 22:39

@jeepjeep4 @mrsed1987 Congratulations!
@SummerOak hope you continue to get plenty of support and hope feeding becomes easier and less tiring soon.

@BVIre ha I'm with you! I'm not at my due date yet, 38+5 today but finding I am getting so many of these messages and have just made sure I messaged people back before bed whereas normally when I get messages at this time I might not reply til the following afternoon. Like you say those closest to you will be informed quickly enough when there is news so it might just be about telling ourselves we don't owe our contacts list a running commentary!

babyhiding · 09/04/2024 00:33

Congratulations to all those that have had their babies. I'm 38 weeks and can barely walk, sit, lie down and function. I'm not overly huge bump wise but I feel so heavy and a huge pressure on my pelvis. My hips and lower back hurts as well. Baby hasn't dropped yet but no longer getting heartburn.

Cora24601 · 09/04/2024 04:57

@BVIre same! I'm 40+6 today and if one more person messages me to check in and then tells me 'oh he must be so comfy in there' I'm going to explode. I've had to get a little stern with some people because it was actually getting me a bit down on the weekend having to keep telling people he's still not here and then have multiple people let me know that they really thought he would be here by now etc 🙄 like if I could do anything else to get him here I would! You have my sympathies! X
