Hey guys, new thread for the April due dates.

Looks like the other thread maxed out before someone could make a new one, so I'll tag a few people and then if they could tag a few and they tag a few and so on, so we can try and get everyone in.

There's no way I can get everyone tagged myself, it's a nightmare on mobile.

OP posts:

I've been using my ball since 37 weeks (39+4 now) bouncing, hip movements back and forth, side to side, figure of eight, circles. Sideways walking upstairs, curb walking, still working (dog walker) and running up hills all day( just about) raspberry leaf tea, dates, sex. Not a single sign of labour and my son was born at 38 weeks so honestly just think at this point that babies come whenever they want no matter what we do 🤣

I'm in the same position as you! No sign of baby at 39 weeks. I think he's happy in there!

Applesandpears23 · 06/04/2024 12:28

40+1 today and nothing happening yet. I am trying to chill in case it is because my 10 year old keeps winding me up. Really don’t want to still be pregnant until school goes back!

ZB86 · 06/04/2024 14:01

@Ttcmumma I paid privately and have just got the (thankfully negative) results back. As an anxious person when I heard about it I wanted to get tested as it was one thing I felt I had some control over.

Anyone struggling with swollen feet? Mine have been swollen for ages but are just getting bigger and bigger to the point I don't think even my flip flops will fit. Midwife sent me to antenatal day unit on Thursday as I also have protein in my urine so they've sent that off for testing. Feel like I'm just waiting for confirmation that I have pre eclampsia but my blood pressure is still just about within normal range even though higher than usual for me personally.

sweetdreams23 · 06/04/2024 14:45

@Ttcmumma thank you! I’ve got to do another urine test once I’ve finished the antibiotics but the one I had at the midwife yesterday didn’t show anything. I think with strep B you could pay for a test but then by the time the results come back even if negative you then could have it as it’s only a snapshot at that moment you take the test. I don’t think it’s worth worrying too much over, as someone else said so many women carry it and don’t even realise - annoyingly its very much one of these ‘out of our hands’ kind of things!

I had my baby son yesterday in the early hours of the morning. I had waters broken then attached to a hormone drip. Contraction pain from the drip felt like another level. But it dilated me very quickly. Before I know it I had a baby in my arms. Feeling very lucky and happy right now.
Good luck to all you to have babies due.

@Retrogamer congratulations 🥰🥰

ASGIRC · 06/04/2024 17:52

@Retrogamer congratulations!!!

@ZB86 I had swollen feet for a couple of weeks before giving birth. And, what no one had ever told me... for a couple of weeks AFTER giving birth! In fact, thye were MUCH worse after my baby was born! I had no idea that was a thing!!!

Hope you dont have pre eclampsia, as that is really scary!

Petris123 · 06/04/2024 18:02

@ZB86 can I ask who you went with to test for strep B? I've found Doctors Lab on the recommended list but they require the email address of the medical provider, but my midwives or GP practice don't have an email address so unsure what to do?

Also been having swollen feet, and systolic pressure a bit higher than my usual on a couple of occasions at home. Also ridiculously thirsty / dehydrated the past few days despite drinking nearly 3 litres per day, the GP did an extra urine test but it was negative so that was that, is this normal? Thirst is better today but seems odd they didn't do the glucose test 🤔🤔

@Retrogamer congratulations!! 🥰

ZB86 · 06/04/2024 18:18

@Petris123 yes I think it was drs lab. I don't have an email address for me or GP either so just used my own email for both contacts.
If you're worried it might be worth calling maternity assessment. I just feel like I'm waiting for the lab results now for my urine test. When I went to day unit on Thursday they didn't even look at my feet/legs and they weren't even going to do any fetal monitoring but I said the midwife seemed quite concerned so I'd appreciate it they would do some monitoring. I haven't been thirsty but bump has been measuring off the charts since 32 weeks and nobody has ever suggested testing for gestational diabetes.

@Retrogamer congratulations. Hope you are both doing well.

@ASGIRC oh gosh that's not good! If mine don't burst when I do have baby I will have to go bare foot to register the birth and to midwife appointments! Hope you are navy are both doing well.

Aprilpudding24 · 06/04/2024 18:36

@Retrogamer congratulations x

MumDaisy1980 · 06/04/2024 19:00

@Retrogamer congratulations!!!

Cora24601 · 06/04/2024 19:42

@Petris123 same with the thirst, since first trimester I could easily drink 5l a day. Had a glucose test all fine and the midwife never seemed bothered about it when I mentioned it. I think some people can just get super thirsty.

@ZB86 I'm there with the swollen feet (and hands) it's insane. None of my shoes fit, even my trainers! My hands are just sausages attached to a ham at this point. Again, midwife not bothered, all urine tests no protien so not pre eclampsia just rotten luck for me I think.

Fingers (or in my case sausages) crossed it eases for us all after birth! 😬

ZB86 · 06/04/2024 20:37

@Cora24601 sausages attached to ham ha brilliant description! Do you have pins and needles too? I think I have carpal tunnel so wearing splints at night which does help slightly. Had to have my engagement ring cut off a few weeks ago 😭.

Yes hopefully everything will shrink back to normal once our babies make an appearance!

Cora24601 · 06/04/2024 20:49

@ZB86 yeah I've had carpel tunnel since 27 weeks, it's horrible isn't it! I've got a really awful case of it though in both hands. Hot water bottle before bed or while sleeping on the inside wrist does help though if you need something extra. Everyone keeps telling me it will go away after baby is born so he's obviously late isn't he.

Oh bless you, that's awful! I managed to get my engagement ring off just before I ballooned up.

Pinkstuffs · 06/04/2024 20:51

Congrats to everyone that is having their babies! Starting to feel a bit more real now.

I’ve been getting lots of Braxton hicks today but no pains, just feels strange. Also lost some bits of my plug but it’s not bloody.

mrsed1987 · 06/04/2024 21:21

My feet and ankles are terrible and my fingers have been the worst ever today, I was crying in pain this morning.

39 weeks tomorrow. Hurry up baby!

ASGIRC · 06/04/2024 21:57

@ZB86 @Cora24601 I didnt even notice the carpal tunnel in pregnancy, though, looking back, Id say I had it on the last few weeks, but it is much worse now, post partum! I have it on both hands, always wake up with pain, and unable to close my hands. Fortunately, it doesnt last very long!!

Cora24601 · 06/04/2024 22:35

@ASGIRC oh no! Don't say it will get worse after I have the baby! 😩 It's 100% the worst pain I've ever experienced, so far anyway! I'm sure that will change in childbirth.

ZB86 · 06/04/2024 22:42

@ASGIRC oh god! I just want to hide in bed til baby arrives now!

Hope it improves sharpish for you x

ZB86 · 06/04/2024 22:47

@mrsed1987 oh no that sounds horrendous. Hope your little one makes an appearance soon.

SummerOak · 07/04/2024 08:44

Congratulations @Retrogamer and @Hopefulfirstround !! Hope I didn't miss anyone else

I had my baby boy yesterday at 39 + 1 day. We are both doing great and should be leaving the hospital some time today. Good luck to all the Mama's waiting for their babies.

sugarplum33 · 07/04/2024 09:28

Oh how lovely to see all these babies being born, congratulations all!

Thank you! It's better this morning, maybe I just had a particularly bad day yesterday.

I think I'm losing my plug! Can't really remember with my son I think I lost it and then labour started within a day, but it's great news as I have a sweep at 11.30am tomorrow so hopefully means it will work well!

Mrsttcno1 · 07/04/2024 10:16

Congratulations @SummerOak !!

All of you giving birth is making me feel really scared that I actually have to give birth soon myself. Feel like I’ve been burying my head in the sand about actual childbirth and now I am panicking to say the least😂
