@Vikki7 you are not doing anything wrong at all.

I am also having some troubles where baby is struggling to put weight on with breast-feeding alone and we are topping up with 2oz of formula. I totally understand how frustrating and upsetting it is to feel like you aren't doing enough for little one but there's nothing you are doing wrong. What I find the hardest is the fact that no one can tell us why she's not gaining weight.

Trust that you are in the best place to get sorted and hopefully they will be able to find out what is possibly wrong.

Sorry I've not really got much advice but just solidarity that you are not the only one and apparently breast fed babies always gain slower x

Mummyme87 · 04/01/2024 18:00

Not a breastfeeding expert by a long stretch @Vikki7 it’s really tough going when you’re in hospital and likely getting lots of different advice, feeding and expressing round the clock. Hopefully you’re getting input from the infant feeding team, you could get in touch with a lactation consultant also if your trust doesn’t have one (infant feeding team midwives are typically not lactation consultants).

ninjas a sweep today pre IOL on Saturday. Regretting my life choices as don’t have childcare until 2pm tomorrow and I’ve been tightening ever since. Had paracetamol and a bath and seems to have kept it at bay, not any worse I don’t think maybe more irregular

sashastuck · 04/01/2024 22:11

Hi all, baby arrived this morning at 6:45am. I got a decent nights sleep before the pushing with that glorious epidural! Needed suction cup and episiotomy but all okay. He’s gorgeous and 8lbs8!!

@Hummusanddipdip hope all is okay x

sashastuck · 04/01/2024 22:12

@Mummyme87 how are you getting on?!

Mummyme87 · 04/01/2024 22:16

Congratulations @sashastuck glad all is well x

obvs I didn’t mean ‘ninjas’ on my post, sausage fingers!! It should have been, ‘I had a sweep’…

things have settled down now, just taken some more paracetamol though as going to bed so hopefully sleep well

Inmydreams88 · 04/01/2024 22:23

Congrats!! Glad he’s here safely. @sashastuck

Hummusanddipdip · 04/01/2024 22:35

Congratulations @sashastuck mine arrived this morning too a few hours after yours

FirstT1meMum · 04/01/2024 23:23

Congratulations @sashastuck and @Hummusanddipdip 👶👶

Onedayatatime24 · 05/01/2024 07:49

Aw congrats @sashastuck and @Hummusanddipdip!!

I said I'd rather wait until after 40 weeks for a sweep so hopefully having one at 40+2 which will be the 16th but now I'm thinking I should have had one sooner next week instead! I know I shouldn't rush him out but just want to meet little one now 🥹 hopefully he comes next week by himself! 🤞

Inmydreams88 · 05/01/2024 08:11

Congrats @Hummusanddipdip !!!

Wow all these babies already!

I’m still waiting, FTM, 40+2 today.

Congratulations @sashastuck and @Hummusanddipdip hope you're all doing well!

@Mummyme87 does that mean it hasn't worked and you'll need another sweep? Or just wait for induction now?

Mummyme87 · 05/01/2024 08:14

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sweeps will work within 48hrs if they are going to work at all. No more sweeps for me, induction booked for tomorrow, just wanted to try before hand

HopeAndStrength · 05/01/2024 08:34

Congratulations @sashastuck that's such good news.

I'm back at work after the Christmas break... feeling the aches and pains of sitting at a desk but on the final countdown now.

Luhou · 05/01/2024 08:44

@sashastuck and @Hummusanddipdip congratulations!

Hope everybody else starts to see some signs soon! I am getting inpatient.

Matildahoney · 05/01/2024 10:16

Congrats @sashastuck and @Hummusanddipdip
@sashastuck that was your due date too wasn't it? I think I remember you were my due date twin?!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 05/01/2024 10:37

@Mummyme87 hopefully it does get things started off and good luck for your induction tomorrow

sashastuck · 05/01/2024 11:41

@Matildahoney yes on his due date! I did slyly choose my induction date with the assumption he’d then come on due date 🤣

@Hummusanddipdip congratulations x

KayakingBex · 05/01/2024 11:51

Congratulations @sashastuck and @Hummusanddipdip i hope all is going well with you and your wee ones 😊

Redpanda21 · 05/01/2024 11:58

Congrats @sashastuck and @Hummusanddipdip

I’m going for a second attempt at a sweep today, she wasn’t able to do it the other day as baby wasn’t engaged. She did say if they can’t do one today she said they can phone day assessment to try get one done there as it’s a hospital environment.

Been having bouts of tightenings and period pains but always fizzle out. Been bouncing on the ball every chance I get.

Had enough now, more exhausted as pains were between 1.30 and 5 last night.

Matildahoney · 05/01/2024 12:18

@sashastuck good work! Rare to actually come on their due date isn't it?!
Can't believe Stanley has been here 9 days already!

TrudyProud · 05/01/2024 12:20

Congratulations @sashastuck and @Hummusanddipdip ! At 39+5 you are giving me hope!

ndavies22 · 05/01/2024 13:09

Hi everyone, very late to this thread! I'm 37+4 and in so much pain with SPD/PGP. Trying all the usual things, and getting some pretty strong BH after a Clary sage bath last night but they don't seem to be coming to anything. Any words of encouragement or advice greatly appreciated ☺️

TrudyProud · 05/01/2024 19:06

I'm so happy- baby is on 70th centile so consultant is no longer worried about accelerated growth. Also she agreed that there a no real contraindications preventing me from having a outpatient IOL for post dates

Thank you @Mummyme87 . Based on you I felt more comfortable advocating for me and my baby's (Jan baby and my toddler) so will hopefully get the birth I want and importantly give my body more time to spontaneously labour

Mummyme87 · 05/01/2024 21:32

@TrudyProud glad I’ve been a positive influence on helping you be confident and advocate for yourself. Also good news on outpatient IOL if it ends up down that route. Whatever the outcome it’s always important you have felt involved and a part of the decision making process and your birth.

Luhou · 06/01/2024 08:05

Hope all goes well today @Mummyme87

Hopefully few more babies this weekend! I keep having really bad tightenings in the evening, feel like something is starting and then I go to bed sleep nd wake up fine. Anybody else found more tightenings in the evening?
