Couldn't see another and the old one is full. Will copy the list from the last one, the tags are really temperamental though and it definitely has quite a few people missing sorry 🙈

Thanks for new thread

TunnocksTCake · 23/11/2023 13:36

I spoke to midwives this morning about the not gaining any weight as I found myself worrying about it in the night & they said it was fine - seemed to think it was a bit of a strange question like 'surely its a good thing youre not gaining weight' - happy to be reassured but I still don't fully understand - if baby is supposed to be growing the most at this stage surely I should be putting that weight on, especially when I had been gaining pretty fast before? Havent seen anyone since 28 weeks (Im 33 now) so they dont know for sure hes growing... probably making a fuss for nothing.

Hope everyones ok, Im SO tired now! Insomnia is awful and even pushing a trolley around Aldi yesterday was enought o knock me out fo rthe rest of the day. Work is super boring now too which doesnt help tho I'm happy for the downtime!

LittleAlien24 · 23/11/2023 13:44

Thanks for new thread.

@Luhou thanks. I really feel it's all cutting too close and it's making me anxious. They were telling me that oh we'll finish the ceiling after Christmas that sorry you can't have Christmas (it's our main big living room ceiling where fireplace is 😕). Im like no I've no time. It's only 2 weeks until January then and i need to clean all the house from dust (it's a big house 😩), wash my baby's clothes again and have to pack my hospital bags etc.
I feel for you about the plaster, builders usually splash it everywhere. After he's birn we gonna start with plastering, room by room.

Im not sure do i have braxton hicks or is my belly just acting up because of everything im doing- walking up /down the stairs all day, plastering, helping daughter break the old plaster/cement off the walls and today being electricians assistant. He's the Only reason i can sit on my phone for a minute because he went for a lunch 😁

lucya66 · 23/11/2023 13:44

thanks for the tag. Lovely names on end of last thread!

it’s all getting a bit real now isn’t it. I’m getting more and more tired now. I find when I’m walking my legs just feel heavy and I need to slow down a lot.

ive not noticed any braxton hicks yet but not sure if I’m just not picking up on them.

Mushroo · 23/11/2023 13:48

Thanks for the tag!

@TunnocksTCake ive not gained much either (less than a stone at nearly 35 weeks) and all my growth scans have been absolutely fine. The midwives said as long as I’m eating well it’s nothing to worry about. I was a healthy bmi to start as well.

Luhou · 23/11/2023 13:51

@LittleAlien24 I feel for you, it's completely naff. I am just hoping baby sits tight in there until due date (even though I've totally had enough of pregnancy) to give us time to get everything sorted!

I haven't washed any clothes yet. DH taking 3 days annual leave next week to do some other jobs around the house.

After tomorrow officially in single didigits with work days left!

Was meant to pick up new car this weekend but it's not ready!

suz2285 · 23/11/2023 14:08

@TunnocksTCake I feel like my weight gain is levelling off, heard during third trimester the over all gain can slow down... my fundal is also going back to a 'normal' size where it was measuring big before

I haven't being weighing so I can't tell if it has levelled off but I'm not worrying about it I'd rather I didn't pile on any more weight 😂 you see loads of pics of women who have no bumps and baby is fine in there...

Did you say you'd gained before and just not for a few weeks? I'd say that's fine! They should be keeping an eye on baby movements and fundal height and as long as both ok then sounds good to me but 🤷‍♀️ I haven't weighed myself since about 24 weeks and not sure I'm going to before this baby is out now! 😂 just another thing to worry about

PartRadish · 23/11/2023 14:21

Had an antenatal appointment this morning and was sent up to triage for a ctg. Had to do the trace twice because baby was a bit quiet during the first but the second apparently looked great.

Braxton hicks/tightenings were present throughout and the read out at the end said in 20 minutes I'd registered 7 contractions! Dr wasn't concerned though because they're not painful.

Before I left they really stressed that because baby has dropped to the 10th centile on serial growth scans and is borderline SGA I really need to attend for monitoring everytime she goes a bit quiet. They said obviously they see everyone for reduced movements but that reduced movements in small babies is particularly concerning. I know it's their job to make sure I'm informed but it definitely doesn't help the anxiety much!

@LittleAlien24 I feel you, renovating is hugely stressful isn’t it particularly being heavily pregnant. We’ve just finished our bedroom and now moving on to the nursery but it’s a big job, taking out all the plaster so it’ll be noisy and dusty. Just had our windows replaced too which were 100+ years old so meant brick being chiselled out etc - still finding brick dust everywhere. You’ll get there but it isn’t fun is it!

tinyracoon · 23/11/2023 14:43

@TunnocksTCake oh I've been so mad about the conversations I've had with the midwives / doctors about weight gain!! I started with a 31 BMI so deffo had some weight to spare, but by 20 weeks I'd lost 3lbs due to sickness and I was really worried I'd hurt the baby or he hadn't grown properly! But the consultant was quite rude about it - she basically said "oh you should aim not to put on any weight during your pregnancy and then do you don't have anything to lose". Like, don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing about the fact that I didn't have weight to lose in the first place but I thought that was a bit uncalled for...

Then I put on about 10lbs in the second trimester and the midwife looked a bit alarmed when she did my weight at the 28 week appt but since then (32 weeks now) I've not put on any more weight.

I haven't tried to put on / lose weight; I've just had recurring sickness at different stages. But the midwives just say it's all fine basically and baby takes what it needs!

But the whole time it's just felt like I can't do wrong or right!!!

Sorry, mega rant but it's been really playing on my mind the whole way through

AshleyCali2Uk · 23/11/2023 14:44

@lucya66 me too like standing in one stop my legs feel like they weight 200lbs and my heart starts to race like I just ran down the street ! I feel like a sloth most of the time.
Don't feel like getting dressed or even making myself food!
I'm 29w3d and I'm like should I start a hospital bag should I start putting together the baby area is it too early. Bc Jan is around the corner but I'm only 29w 😩

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/11/2023 14:48

Thanks for setting the new group up @PartRadish! So sorry about the movements and the monitoring, that sounds so stressful.

@LittleAlien24 It's rubbish. It's so horrible having dust everywhere, and undone work, so massively sympathise. I'm off this afternoon and so washing and dusting and unpacking and dusting again - can't get rid of the bloody dust. We've painted nearly everything too so not sure where it's still coming from

AshleyCali2Uk · 23/11/2023 14:51

Is any one giving birth in Barnsley in this group? I am for a scheduled CS. However they want me to have it at 39w which is about 29 Jan. But have scheduled me for 8 Feb which is 40w4days in hopes something opens up and I can be moved forward on the list.
I've had 3 CS this will be my 4th I've never been in real labor my water broke my 1st pregnancy with my twins at 36weeks but the contractions I was having weren't painful (ended up with a Emergency CS) baby A was ready baby b was breached I had preeclampsia as well.
Any who. I'm just nervous and excited bc I don't think Barnsley will be able to move me forward bc if anything I've been moved back lol (that's another story) and I think I'll end up going into labor and having another Emergency CS.

MrsJ6921 · 23/11/2023 15:15

I’m just marking my spot on the new thread!

Since yesterday I’ve been suffering with a cold and a particularly sore throat which is super annoying!

Mummyme87 · 23/11/2023 15:17

@TunnocksTCake weight gain has nothing to do with baby’s wellbeing. You’ve likely lost some weight which is not uncommon for many women in pregnancy. But it all means nothing. You can not eat and baby can be a healthy 3-4kg 👍

Whataretheodds · 23/11/2023 15:22

@PartRadish sorry to hear, that sounds like a very not fun day. Have they given you next steps for monitoring/further scans etc?

I've reached Can't Be Bothered with my work which is awkward as I still have 8 weeks of it to go. I would like to actually achieve some stuff before I go but lack the vim to do so.

Still totally baffled by pram/buggy options (we live in Central London, don't have a car).

buckingmad · 23/11/2023 15:25

I've put on so much less weight this time round than with DD. I'm guessing a combination of it not being lock down, having a toddler to run around after and also probably the sudden loss of my friend effecting my appetite a bit.

With DD I went from 7.5 stone to 10.5 stone. This time I've gone from 8 stone to currently 9stone3lbs at 33 weeks. I guess I might put on another stone between now and baby coming but looking back at my wedding photos when I was 35 weeks I'm just smaller everywhere, I've not put it on my face or arms etc.

buckingmad · 23/11/2023 15:27

@Whataretheodds my BF who had a baby similar time to when I had DD was central london and she had an egg I think. Was bril, so tiny and light and easy for her to go on the tube with. My Ocarro was very unsuitable for that trip 😂

Whataretheodds · 23/11/2023 15:28

Ooh egg is a new one on me. Will look it up.

sashastuck · 23/11/2023 15:30

@PartRadish thank you for the new thread again and sorry that you’ve had to spend time being monitored - glad baby was okay though.

I’m sorry that I’m so slow in replying in these threads now, I feel FOMO but also bad that I’m not always there right away when people have concerns or questions!

@Luhou I’m sure you’re reassured about the name thing now but I wanted to add - my parents didn’t give my sister or I middle names because they thought our names would be too long, so our names are actually relatively short. 2 then 3 syllables. I’ve always wanted a middle name and wouldn’t have cared if it was long at all!

Some beautiful names popping up here. We’ve told close family and a couple of friends, but one person’s reaction made me wish we didn’t tell anyone! Other opinions have been positive though. I’m in love with the name so it shouldn’t make a difference I guess!

@tinyracoon that’s soooo frustrating about your sister and the dogs. Over Christmas too! When are you due? (sorry if you’ve already mentioned)

I’m 34 weeks today and still got 4 weeks left at work :( had to pull a sicky yesterday. I’m so tempted to leave earlier but the thought of potentially being back at work for baby’s first birthday makes me so sad! I wake up feeling unwell and rundown every day now

TunnocksTCake · 23/11/2023 15:33

Thanks all for your reassurance, I guess I was just a bit concerned as I had been gaining so quickly in second tri then nothing since 30 weeks when baby is supposed to be gaining so much weight. Happy that I am possibly losing weight. Will be very interested to see how fundal measurement is this Wednesday when it was 4 weeks ahead last time!

@tinyracoon that sounds particularly unfair, I think its perfectly reasonable to be worried about losing weight when your pregnant, it just doesnt feel like the natrual order of things when theres a whole other human in there!

@PartRadish sorry youve had such an eventful day, I hope baby is nice and predictable from now on for you.
