Same as what I've seen my MW too, this is normal not just for second pregnancies?

I'll ask for my form at my 28 week app.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 02/11/2023 14:31

If anyone needs their form earlier like I have, I called my midwife and she posted it to me 🙂

DmcinT · 02/11/2023 15:05

I just printed the forms off online, filled them in and gave to HR when I was 24 weeks but maybe printing them isn’t an option for some?

Cheetocat · 02/11/2023 15:43

I feel like baby has gotten so much higher this week, today I saw and felt movements way higher than I expected, maybe 8cm above bellybutton! Baby has been so active yesterday and today, my partner felt him for the first time last night, he kept his hand there while we watched a film.

PeeBeee · 02/11/2023 17:36

Oh i need to share how stupid I am being but the pregnancy hormones are out in force. Takeaway for dinner tonight, waited to hubby was half an hour away (works 45mins away from home) to order it, sat there pending confirmation then was cancelled at 5.15 with me not having anything prepared for dinner, I have ordered somewhere else and isn’t going to be here to 6 but I am sobbing as I feel like such a terrible mum as my 1.5 year old is eating at least a half an hour later than I anticipated, she is happily playing around the living room unaware of her mummy having a breakdown😭

Doesn’t it need to be certified though? Otherwise anyone could say they’re pregnant!

Is anybody planning on getting a birthing ball? I've not really thought about it and don't really want something so big and cumbersome in the house that I'll only use for a short period of time.
Thoughts?

Morning, has anyone with toddlers (mine is almost 21 months) decided whether to move their toddler to a bed before the baby arrives and use the cot, or buy another cot?

I get convertible cots, from newborn to toddler bed, to a little sofa, but still wondering whether to save the expense/waste, or better to have them penned in for better sleep!

@msp2023 my friend gave me a birthing ball last time (that she had barely used) and I maybe sat on it twice. The hospital provided them during labour, and it was fab for that, but I didn't need it at home

Ihatewinding · 03/11/2023 10:05

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 our little girl is actually going to have turned 3 when the baby arrives but we've just ordered a second cot bed 🫣 she sleeps so well and still has the bars up and makes no effort to climb out. They say to make changes at least 3 months before a new baby comes so getting to point where would be cutting it fine to try now. I'm also already so sleep deprived from the PGP/SPD that I can't handle a potential regression by switching to a bed! I'm not fussed about getting her night dry and having to get up and help with toileting in night with a new baby coming so no need to get rid of bars yet.

It helps that the cot bed we used is currently on offer for £50 off in a lot of places online! So 179 from 229, it's the Tutti Bambini Rio cot bed in case anyone is considering the same ☺️

We are likely going to put the 2 kids together when the new baby is sleeping through, and 2 cot beds will work better for space also 🤞

Cheetocat · 03/11/2023 10:35

If anyone uses tiktok there is a mum with a series explaining everything you need to know about having a baby and what they need, taking care of their hygiene etc.. The videos are not too long and I've learned so much. She has videos on bathing them, where to out them to sleep, wearing them, prams, muslins, breastfeeding. Her name is bea daily

LavenderSweetPea · 03/11/2023 10:52

@msp2023 I'm also curious about the birthing ball and if they are useful. It feels like something you 'should' get but I don't even know what to do with it other than just sitting on it bouncing if you're overdue to encourage baby to come.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 03/11/2023 10:59

@msp2023 my dog would probably think it was just a big football and try to attack it all the time 😄

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 03/11/2023 11:18

@CheeseAndCrackersx I used the Aniball, which has the misfortune of looking just like a kong, my poor dog looked so confused as to what the hell I was doing with that 🤣

@Ihatewinding thank you for that, that's interesting your three year old is still in a cot. I keep reading that we have to make the change at very close to two, but honestly he is so happy in his cot and he sleeps through in it, I am so so reluctant to make a change there. If he stays in it til 3 I'll be happy! Worried if he has a bed he will just be running here there and everywhere around his room and not sleeping

Hankthehonk · 03/11/2023 11:49

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 we've moved our daughter to a single bed already but she's older, she was 3 in July. She was in cot bed but we need it to be a cot again. We did it last month as I've read that any changes impacting the older child should not happen too close to baby's arrival, so they don't necessarily associate it with the baby. However straight away when she got her new bed she said "is my baby brother going to take my other bed?" Too sharp!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 03/11/2023 12:55

For those who are having growth scans, is anyone still waiting for their appointments to come through?
I know my 32 week 1 as it's with the consultant but I haven't had my 28 week 1 through and I know that's at the ultrasound department.
I don't know who to contact to chase it tbh

anony1111 · 03/11/2023 13:29

@msp2023 @LavenderSweetPea
I had a ball with my first pregnancy and was constantly sat on it towards the end of pregnancy, was the only place I felt comfortable.
There are some good exercises to do to get baby engaged too. I watched some videos on YouTube which helped.
I have just ordered one off eBay last night for £8
I guess it's one of them things that's personal preference really but helped me in my third trimester with my first baby x

Do you have the outpatient number for the delivery suite at your hospital? They should be able to help. Or the other number to try is the ultrasound booking team, the number should be on your previous letters.
I’ve got all mine booked in, but the odd one has been booked very last minute when they didn’t have availability and had to find a way to squeeze me in.

redxlondon · 03/11/2023 14:20

I’m attending this tomorrow! It’s my local NHS class, didn’t realise it was a national one.

Haha that's funny @Hankthehonk she is already very aware then!

I mean new baby is already having our toddlers buggy (going to get a buggy board) and no doubt he'll recognise his old stuff as well so I wonder if that'll make him peeved...

Does she like her new bed at least, or do you think she'll be sad to give up her cot?

Sunshineclouds11 · 03/11/2023 17:24

Abit random but why does it hurt between my vagina and bum?
Like it aches and certain ways I move it's like a shooting pain.
I don't feel like I've strained or pulled a muscle

Mummapenguin20 · 03/11/2023 17:49

@Sunshineclouds11 thats how my pgp started but could also be how baby is laid

Sunshineclouds11 · 03/11/2023 18:29

@Mummapenguin20 Awr god really?!
This preg is giving me alot more jip than my first 😂

Mummapenguin20 · 03/11/2023 18:31

I’ve decided my body dosent like pregnancy x

Hankthehonk · 03/11/2023 19:22

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yeah she's been very happy in her new big bed, no drama so far!
We need to get a buggy board as well, it's on the list. Currently selling lots of girls clothes on vinted and using the money to buy bundles of boy clothes...I didn't think her stuff was super girly but when I sorted through it hardly anything was genuinely unisex
