Happy new year everyone! Our babies are due next month😳😯

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this. Yesterday, as the day went on, I was getting a pain in my right side that went into my back when I coughed so put it down to a pulled muscle. I went to bed last night at 10 and yelped getting into bed, I couldn’t lie on my right side at all without being in excruciating pain. It was constant, any movement I did, even getting up from the loo. I think I probably got about 3 hours sleep in total. Baby is still moving as normal but thinking should I ring EOU to explain this? I think I have just pulled a muscle but it is ridiculously sore!

It’s likely to be muscular but no harm in making the call. We only regret the calls we didn’t make when it comes to protecting our little ones.

let us know how you get on x

PeeBeee · 01/01/2024 10:07

@AllAboardTootToot thank you. I called them and they advised to go to A+E😭

so weighing up whether or not its worth going up to wait for 10+ hours!

AllAboardTootToot · 01/01/2024 10:09

Has it calmed down any @PeeBeee ? Try having a bath to see if it helps relax it?

PeeBeee · 01/01/2024 10:11

@AllAboardTootToot its definitely not as bad as it was last night, i couldnt move positions in bed at all whereas i can move around now and it still hurts but not making me welp! I think my guts telling me its muscular but as you say, we only regret not getting checked out! Ugh!

Happy New Year 🎉🥳💙💖

CheeseAndCrackersx · 01/01/2024 10:39

Happy new year all 🎉

I had a little cry at midnight (happy tears) over the fact I become a mum for the first time this year 🥹
Then I had a dream he was born at 36 weeks 🙈

Cheetocat · 01/01/2024 11:01

I am just in shock that baby is coming next month, this has been the longest year ever! From one spot of implantation bleeding on the 8th of June to this energetic baby boy sending waves across my belly while I lay and appreciate him.

Shrillwaffle · 01/01/2024 12:22

Happy new years everyone 🥳 were Al becoming mummies soon 😱🤗 around 3 weeks till my bean is here I can’t wait I’m getting so impatient now 😅

@PeeBeee do you have to go to normal a&e is there not a labour triage near you?

CheeseAndCrackersx · 01/01/2024 13:01

Happy new year ladies!! 🥳🥳
I can’t believe some of our babies will be here THIS MONTH!! 😳😳😍😍
I wonder who will be first? 😝😝

quick q… anyone else getting morning sickness still/again??
I’ve started retching and dry heaving after cleaning my teeth in the mornings 😵‍💫 I’ve got an empty stomach so I’m literally just bringing up stomach lining or delightful phlegm that I seem to build up at night but I also end up pee’ing myself a little bit too with the urging 😫 it’s a nightmare!!!

Mangotango39 · 01/01/2024 14:22

@redxlondon snap we got the dragonfly - love it!!!

We went for green.

PeeBeee · 01/01/2024 14:40

I rang my eou this morning and they told me to go to a and e, which is in the same building 45mins away and its currently 7 hours wait to be seen by triage alone so I haven’t went. Will ring my own doc in morning if it’s still bad or will go up to a and e later if it gets worse

mollybbb · 01/01/2024 16:57

Anyone else dealing with extreme tiredness😩😩 currently 33 weeks pregnant and just woken up from a 3 hour nap and feel like I could go straight back to sleep😢😢💔

novamama · 01/01/2024 17:24

Happy new year everyone!!

@PeeBeee Owh I am sorry to read pain still persists. Does paracetamol help ease the pain at all until tomorrow maybe?

@redxlondon @Mangotango39 we also got the bugaboo dragonfly (in green)! Will have it delivered in a couple of weeks' time, I am so excited!

I'm still getting sick, sounds a bit like yours at the moment tbh. I'm still on cyclizine, which keeps it to a minimum for now at least. It's rotten isn't it though!
At least there shouldn't be too long left now!

PeeBeee · 01/01/2024 18:59

@novamama thank you! I am pretty sure its muscle - i have a 20month old dd who is usually a daddys girl but has started coming to me over him alot and wanted lifted etc and shes too small to understand I am heavily pregnant so I am lifting her up and down all day so between that and the baby getting bigger and me not slowing down as I should, i think i have pulled something! Will take the next 7 weeks easier for sure :)

Shrillwaffle · 01/01/2024 19:03

Oh girlies I just want my baby here now 😩 I just feel that I’m so so so close to the end I’m terrified of something going wrong. I don’t want to have made it this far and I love her so much and tragedy and lighting strike twice 😭😭😭 if she came now I’d be very very very happy. At my monitoring this ectopic heartbeat thing has got me really worried I’m gonna ask about not going anymore because it’s too much to deal with if it’s nothing to worry about. But I don’t know whether to be worried or not 🤯😭 I just want her here now safe, my first thought when I wake up is I need to try and wake her to feel her move I’m terrified something has happened overnight 😢😢😢

CharXo · 01/01/2024 19:06

@Kelb79 @RaspberryTreehouse im not sick but constantly nauseous from about 7pm onwards every single night. I have to silt bolt upright on the sofa/in bed until it passes which can be anything from 3hours +!

Dreading going back to work tomorrow but 4 weeks left is what I keep telling myself!

LavenderSweetPea · 01/01/2024 20:26

@Shrillwaffle I feel similar. Spent so long just willing baby to stay in, now we're so close to the end I kind of just want him out so he's here safe where I can see him. I can only imagine how much harder this is for you.

If it makes you feel better in the morning to make sure she's moving just do it, poke her or play loud music or something. It won't harm her, and if it'll help you start your day it's worth it. I do it sometimes if I've had a stressful night.

anony1111 · 01/01/2024 20:37

@mollybbb I was like this a couple of weeks back, just completely exhausted all the time no matter how much sleep I had, turned out my iron was really low. Have you had your bloods done recently?

msp2023 · 01/01/2024 22:32

I'm not sure if this is a really stupid question..
I've started panicking about how to put baby to sleep at night ie swaddle bags, muslin swaddle etc??

What have you all prepared for?
The swaddle bags sizes are weight dependent so I didn't want to guess and buy the wrong size!

Kelb79 · 01/01/2024 23:21

@msp2023 same worry over here!!! (Among soooo many others! 🫣🫣) any advice from any second/third/fourth time mums would be epic 🙏🏼❤️😘

Cheetocat · 02/01/2024 01:31

We've decided to do sleep sacks. I got one 3.5 tog that's tiny, up to one month for when he's first born and won't be too loose if he's born little and then two bigger 0-6m in 2 tog and 2.5 tog. It's very important you keep track of room temperature when using them so we've purchased a groegg too. There are loads of charts online that show you what layers are necessary depending on the temperature and tog of the sleeping bag. The groegg box also has a chart on it. We actually bought all three bags on vinted for really good prices. Who knows if this method will work for us? It's not a huge loss if it doesn't since we got such good deals.

undercoverhero74 · 02/01/2024 06:13

@msp2023 I have bought a couple of these to start us off and a gro egg to keep the room at the right temp. You can use them from 6.6lb and can either be a swaddle or a sleeping bag. The best thing is they can unzip from the bottom so less disturbance during the night nappy changes.

This is my second baby and I have been a lot more specific with what I need and have kept everything at a minimum. You will find you will try a lot of different things before you work out what works best for you 😊
