@marymac97 I had an anterior with my first.
I was always in and out getting checked.
It's worrying but 9/10 we just can't feel it!
They always said whenever you feel worried just ring they'd always prefer to check as you know.

I do have to say from about 34/35 weeks he used to keep me up at night kicking so the kicks do become harder which will hopefully give you some reassurance.

user2489 · 23/12/2023 20:35

Mine is anterior as well. I was always worried up until now (33 weeks) and I would go a full day not feeling (because I am very active) but then her pattern was that she would move at night when I was relaxed in bed. Now that she's bigger I can actually poke her and she moves, still she doesn't for long stretches of time if I am busy moving all day.

LavenderSweetPea · 24/12/2023 07:16

@marymac97 I lost my mucus plug at some point between 20-24w and it was mixed with blood (looked like a blood jelly lump). I went in to hospital to be assessed but tbh they weren't worried about it, they said it would grow back at that stage.

marymac97 · 24/12/2023 08:40

@LavenderSweetPea how long were you losing it for? Was it quite a few days? Xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/12/2023 10:08

@marymac97 sorry for the delayed reply. I lost two chunks in one day, no blood, the largest was a chunky inch long piece that was quite solid. I had a midwife appointment later in the week so took a photo and showed her. She said very common and it would very likely regenerate. Just watch out for leaking waters. It was ages ago and I had no leaking, so I assume it has regenerated. She didn't want to do an examination of me or anything.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 24/12/2023 11:01

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas ❤️

LavenderSweetPea · 24/12/2023 13:21

@marymac97 the bulk of it was in one day, but a couple of smaller bits appeared that next two days.

Shrillwaffle · 24/12/2023 19:50

Cheetocat · 25/12/2023 21:03

Happy Christmas! So excited for the family to have an extra little seat at the table next year!

chuppachups12 · 26/12/2023 00:00

Last night I got back pain and stomach pain while trying to sleep then ended up vomiting and half an hour later had diarrhoea. I was thinking it could mean I may go into labour soon as these are the tell tale signs but today I've not had back pain, just my usual braxton hicks. I'm 33+2, has anyone else experienced this?

Shrillwaffle · 26/12/2023 01:00

@chuppachups12 you on medication for anything?

Ebonythoughts · 26/12/2023 02:36

Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

I’m poorly with a cold, or what might be the flu and it’s the second time in this pregnancy but feels so much work now. Every time I cough I feel like I’m having Braxton hicks. 34 weeks tomorrow, really hope it passes soon.

Is there anything we are allowed to take at this stage apart from paracetamol? Is Lemsip ok? What about Vicks?

MrsW9 · 26/12/2023 03:03

Can't do Lemsip - paracetamol by itself is fine though. I'm not sure about Vicks. I had COVID a couple of weeks ago and my favourite thing was this: https://ohsheglows.com/my-favourite-hot-detox-tonic/I made it with frozen ginger because that was what I had, no vinegar, and plenty of honey instead of the maple syrup because it does do something to suppress coughs. Hot honey and lemon or honey in chamomile was also good for the cough, just less good than the spiced tea for decongesting. Get well soon!

Shrillwaffle · 26/12/2023 03:04

@Ebonythoughts had some kind of bug for over 2 weeks now 😩 midwives and doctor says paracetamol, lemsip and Vicks all that is fine as long as you take it as recommended

mummylove24 · 26/12/2023 07:20

Merry Christmas mamas 🎄❤️🥳🎉

CheeseAndCrackersx · 26/12/2023 11:57

7 weeks left today 😀

Hope you all had a lovely Xmas day 🎄

Mine was ok. Will be better next year 🥰

chuppachups12 · 26/12/2023 12:40

@Shrillwaffle nothing pregnancy related, just sertraline which I've been taking the whole time

Ebonythoughts · 26/12/2023 15:48

@MrsW9 @Shrillwaffle thank you. Fever seems to have subsided, just a terrible chesty cough now and pain down below that I might speak to the midwife about if it doesn’t go away.

34 weeks today. Just 6 weeks to go x

AllAboardTootToot · 26/12/2023 18:52

Merry Christmas all!

Christmas dinner next year we will have another person around the table ❤️🎄☃️🎅

msp2023 · 26/12/2023 21:11

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

How's everyone getting on with their sleep? I'm massively struggling! I can now only lay on my right side as my left side hurts my ribs/makes me struggle to breathe.
Very very frustrating as I'm just forever exhausted :(

A few days away from 35 weeks eek, cannot believe it! Starting to worry about having to give birth 🫣

CharXo · 26/12/2023 21:26

My pelvic pain is so bad now.. and I’ve also discovered lightening crotch!! I am waddling so much and I feel like my whole vagina constantly aches.. like someone has kicked me right in the feels!

so bit of a random question but has anyone discussed contraception after birth? When I saw my consultant last he said about putting the coil in but everyone I know says it absolutely KILLS!! I’ve tried the depo injection & implant and neither work for me so it’s a case of going back on the pill or the coil… any recommendations/advice gratefully received!
