@Kelb79 congrats on your beautifully growing baby, I was recommended spinning babies too, I'll have a look today. Hopefully our little ones decide to flip over soon.

msp2023 · 29/12/2023 11:02

35 weeks today eeeeek! Getting so nervous about labour etc now. Feeling some more pressure down below so assuming it'd baby's hear!

Does anybody else's stomach hurt a tiny bit when they sneeze/cough! My whole stomach hardens up and compresses - quite uncomfortable.

PeeBeee · 29/12/2023 13:20

I finally bought something for Feb baby!🙈 6 x zip sleepsuits in first size & 8 in 0-3! I will be 32 weeks on Tuesday, c cection booked for 39 weeks exactly and I feel so unorganised!

to be fair, I am having a 2nd dd and 1st dd is only 20 months so i have all the big things from her but still feel so unprepared🙈once the xmas decorations are down, I am getting stuck in! Have 5 weeks of work left when i go back on the 2nd Jan then 2 weeks off with dd to chill before baby no.2!

redxlondon · 29/12/2023 13:34

I’ve had to breakup my day out with a rest at home, finding it really hard to keep moving all day, I’ve done 7,500 steps so far today, so a lot but not loads….how’s everyone else finding moving about? My feet seem to get so sore!

AllAboardTootToot · 29/12/2023 13:37

@redxlondon it’s my lower back that seems to get it my little one is lying back to back and breech. Trying to up the walking to help her turn head down and away from back but she’s stubborn 🙈

im 31 + 2 and tiredness is definitely kicking in big time! What are we suddenly so breathless?!

Currently lying on the couch with music playing on my belly and the thought of moving to go to the loo for the 16th time today is making me want to have a toddler stomp strop 😂😂

CheeseAndCrackersx · 29/12/2023 13:43

So that's both of our hospital bags ready 😀
When are you ladies getting the snack/drink side of things?
And what do you recommend most, I know about isotonic drinks. But is it basically anything you like snack wise?

I guess it would depend on type of delivery and recommendations from doctor. The hospital we’re going to has a pretty good cafe and shop so will probably rely on that and pack some cereal bars just in case.

Yeah I’d say so and stuff your birthing partner hates just to be safe 😂😂

Meeting · 29/12/2023 14:30

@CheeseAndCrackersx I started packing ours today, just need to get a few more bits and they're done!

I'm not packing a snack bag as my family will bring me anything I need which helps us have one less bag to carry.

Sunshineclouds11 · 29/12/2023 14:44

Everything in for my bag, little miss' bag half done.

Not doing a snack bag either. We didn't last time and OH popped down to cafe/shop for whatever we needed. So packing stuff wasn't really a miss tbh.

Cheetocat · 29/12/2023 15:02

I am vegan and I don't know how accommodating the hospital will be so I will probably pack loads of snacks. I have our bags mostly packed too which is so exciting. I'll get my partner to pack himself a bag too and that's where the snacks can go.

DmcinT · 29/12/2023 15:48

I’ve started collecting things for our bags now too, hope to have it sorted in the next week or 2. Honestly cannot believe we are at this stage . 3 weeks on Monday I’m in to have my stitch removed at 37 weeks so need everything in with me for that just incase 😳

@Cheetocat what will u get partner to pack? Like an overnight bag I suppose for himself is it?

ive noticed my gums very swollen in the last week or so and my bottom teeth have deff moved🙈 has anyone noticed this from previous preg and did they go back to normal afterwards ?

Nemo145 · 29/12/2023 16:38

My bag and babies bag are packed. Since Chris isn’t here my Mum is my birthing partner but since I’m having a section hopefully it will be more straightforward. Though with my daughter that was an emergency section.
There is literally one tiny WHSmith and a crap canteen at my hospital.
So I’m thinking I should probably suggest my mum packs a bag for herself too. Maybe some magazines and a book with snacks in. I think I go in in the morning for an afternoon section so probably be some waiting around.

Cheetocat · 29/12/2023 16:59

@DmcinT Yes, exactly, an overnight bag for himself containing his personal hygiene stuff, a top that buttons on the front so he can do skin to skin and the snacks.

@Nemo145 Definitely seems like a good idea for her to pack a few things too!

CharXo · 29/12/2023 19:48

@PeeBeee when did you get your date for c section?

Gardenfingers23 · 29/12/2023 20:07

Out of interest is anyone planning on having home birth? We’re leaning in that direction but still prepping a hospital bag to be on the safe side!

Mummapenguin20 · 29/12/2023 20:16

Has anyone got had pain across the belly button x

PeeBeee · 29/12/2023 20:17

@CharXo consultant booked me in at my last apt where I was 29+6 x

CheeseAndCrackersx · 29/12/2023 20:49

I don't look one but I feel such a whale! Getting so uncomfortable now 🙃

Shrillwaffle · 29/12/2023 22:02

@Hankthehonk thank you for sharing your experience 🙏🏻 I don’t know much about inductions at all but the more I hear about them the more nervous I get 😬😖

mat my CTG monitoring she had an ectopic heartbeat, obviously because of my previous loss I started proper panicking and getting really upset. But the midwife told me it’s nothing to worry about it’s really normal and sorts itself out, and my CTG was absolutely fine. Anyone else experienced this? Or know more about it? My anxiety is at an all time high and I just didn’t like hearing something different so I don’t feel totally reassured :/

Cheetocat · 30/12/2023 00:26

@Gardenfingers23 I wouldn't feel comfortable having a home birth and baby is breach so far anyway but think it's brilliant for those who want to, staying in your own little bubble.

Mismatc · 30/12/2023 09:00

I’m planning a home birth 😊

This is my third baby — my first was a straightforward vaginal birth after being induced at 38+6 and my second was an induction and emergency caesarean at 33+4. My first two were 11 and 10 years ago.

I’m a midwife/ lecturer and my partner is a paediatrician — we have done research and discussed with consultants, everyone is happy with our choices. I really hope it all works out and we get to have this baby in our comfortable safe space and I can get into my own bed after. No waiting around to be discharged 🤞🏻

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/12/2023 09:37

@Shrillwaffle I've been in twice this week for CTG after being sent by midwife on my routine 34 week check. Movements still there but muted, and on day of my midwife check, baby's heartbeat was too fast. I didn't meet criteria on one CTG, but did on two other CTGs. I'm quite worried now. Emergency scan was okay, but movements are still soft. The dr has booked me in for twice weekly ctg.

Has anyone else had this?

Shrillwaffle · 30/12/2023 11:31

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 what did the midwives say? I know they’ve been saying to worry not to worry too much about not meeting the criteria on the machines as the machine picks stuff up that isn’t actually a concern and that it’s more relying on the midwives clinical skills looking at the ctg’s

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/12/2023 11:38

@Shrillwaffle the machine failed me (never went green) after sitting on it for an hour. Had to move around, have a cold drink, and do it again. They didn't seem worried because I passed it the second time. I had to see the Dr afterwards who said not to worry too much, but to come back for regular monitoring. They seemed to be putting a lot of store in the growth scan I had yesterday looking good - baby had good growth etc:

What did they say for you?

It's tricky though - they've said I don't need to phone triage and have an open pass to come back for any slower days of movement. However all days have been slower last 4-5 days, and so I'm not sure what to do. They seem to just repeat the ctg until you pass, and I have a positive growth scan.
