I'm due 25th June 2024. So am 5+2 today. Very sore boobs and very tired. Also very thirsty. Anyone due around the same time and would like a support thread? This is my 2nd. Dd is 8, will be nearly 9 when baby comes. Let's share stories, symptoms and have a good moan when we need it!

Welcome newcomers. This is my 2nd pregnancy and I had horrific sickness all the way through with my first. This time though I've had hardly any sick feelings at all. Plenty of time though. I'll be 7 weeks on Tues. Just very tired. Hoping to get my first appointment through this week. I like to know when things are happening lol

Hi everyone,
just looking for some reassurance really, I’m 7 weeks tomorrow and I barley have any symptoms - is that normal? Everything I’m reading is like - morning sickness, tiredness - I don’t have those. And whilst I know I should consider myself lucky a massive part of me thinks somethings wrong.
I do need to pee a lot and have sore boobs but that’s about it.
is this normal?

Obviously not a doctor or midwife but purely anecdotally my friend is 9 weeks and barely having any symptoms with her second pregnancy after being really symptomatic in her first. She had a recent scan and all is ok, I just think pregnancies significantly vary even with the same parents and different baby so try not to worry too much x

DuchessofSuffolk · 06/11/2023 13:13

I guess so! and also you hear about these women who have no idea they are pregnant! I’m mean part of me is grateful I feel fine but then the other half is worried! I guess I won’t know until my scan? Will they confirm everything g at my booking scan? First time pregnancy so I lit know nothing!

Not a clue what happens it's my first time too! I have booked a private scan for next Sunday for peace of mind!

TeamSpike · 06/11/2023 13:53

I'm feeling a bit like you @DuchessofSuffolk I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and haven't had much. Some boobs and tiredness. No nausea. I had awful sickness with dd1 so I keep worrying too.

Hi! I'm 27 and expecting my 3rd baby in June 2024. My two DDs are 2 and 8 months. I had an nhs early scan today because we have to find out the sex at 9 weeks for genetic reasons.

Congrats to everyone!

Suchardchoccy · 06/11/2023 13:57

Also had my booking in app two weeks ago. Forgot to say, scan today I'm measuring 7 weeks so I think I ovulated a bit late

starr24 · 06/11/2023 13:59

Also having the same worries about lack of symptoms, this is my second and I feel like I remember feeling worse last time, just want my scan to be here for some reassurance! We're thinking about booking an early private scan in a few weeks.

DuchessofSuffolk · 06/11/2023 14:52

It’s such a worry isn’t it because it’s always portrayed as throwing up in the mornings and having all these symptoms and then it doesn’t happen and you’re a bit like “oh” maybe just been lucky so far, maybe it will come who knows.

Clueless38 · 06/11/2023 14:53

@Lusha I’m feeling exactly the same!
This is planned but happened a lot sooner than expected, so it’s taken me by surprise. I have a full on, senior job, and we wouldn’t be able to maintain our current lifestyle let alone afford everything a baby needs on just my husband’s income plus SMP.

There is a history of post natal depression in my family, so I don’t want to be forced to make drastic lifestyle changes in case that triggers / exacerbates depression. This is my first pregnancy so I have no idea whether I’ll get depression or not, but my job and lifestyle are really important to me and help keep me sane!

I currently have no idea what the plan is or how we’ll make it work but I’m sure it will be ok.

Lusha · 06/11/2023 21:57

@Clueless38 thanks, it’s really helped to share the anxiety and know I’m not the only one. I’m sure we will be able to make it work

Bubblesandtroubles · 06/11/2023 23:08

I'm another 7 weeker (tomorrow) with very few symptoms. Though my boobs have gone up a level of soreness last couple of days. I've also had a migraine today but I get those anyway (though not for a long while). Hoping they're not going to become a symptom!
Had a brilliant weekend with my lg. She's 2 in December and just adorable at the moment. Twas lovely but also gave me anxiety of what if we've messed up the perfect dynamic we have with her 😩 Bless her little happy face being totally oblivious of whats to come! (Very much a planned and wanted second child just so many unknowns!) x

waster86 · 07/11/2023 08:22

@Clueless38 and @Bubblesandtroubles I am in a very similar situation as both of you and it's really tough but somehow nice to hear that we are not alone.

I've got a 4 year old currently and we have such a lovely family dynamic and I am really scared of what a 2nd child will do to that bond we have :( he's got no idea what is about to hit him and somehow I feel guilty about doing this to him.

I also have a senior job which I love. I can't lie- it was really tough going back after may leave the first time but we've adapted and I feel like I've got a good balance back. It's never the same as pre-children, but I do feel like I can balance job and a child. But now number two is on the way- I really don't know how that is going to work and that scares me. Plus having to go through coming back from mat leave again. So many unknowns.

We've got this though ladies x

Rooster2021 · 07/11/2023 11:29

@waster86

I feel the same!

I have a 2.5 year old and she has come into such a lovely stage, having conversations and just such a joy to be around. We have such a great dynamic at home and it all feels quite lovely at the moment.

We have planned small 3 trips in the next 7 months to just spend time together and talk about what is to come. My husband feels so guilty but I say to him it’s a gift for her too. Hopefully!

Bubblesandtroubles · 07/11/2023 17:03

@Rooster2021 that's a good point that I need to remind myself of- wanting my first to have benefit a sibling was the main factor in the decision for no2. So, yes maybe a bit of upheaval to begin with, but hopefully they'll get a lovely bond and be thick as thieves in no time 🤞🏻🤞🏻

starr24 · 07/11/2023 19:12

Some of the recent posts really resonate with me, this being my second, and wondering how that will change the dynamic of things. I know there'll be some tough times but I try to think of when the new baby is a bit older (like over 1) and becomes a bit more interactive, I think my little one will be an amazing older sibling ❤️

mamataylor · 07/11/2023 20:11

I share the same concerns as you ladies regarding how my first will adjust to her new sibling. She will turn 3 just 4 days before baby number 2 is due to arrive 🙈 it’ll be an adjustment for all of us but we’ll soon find out feet and they’ll slot in perfectly I’m sure 🥰

TeamSpike · 07/11/2023 20:45

It will definitely be an adjustment for us too. Dd will be nearly 9 when baby comes. It was just us for the first 7 years of her life. She's had a lot to adapt to with dp and moving house and now the baby. I know she'll be excited, she's always wanted a sibling. The reality is different though lol

Hello, I’d love to join you all on this journey. I am almost 9 weeks. we also have an 8 year old boy who rules the house and DOES NOT WANT A BABY. So breaking the news to him will be the toughest ever. I’ve already shed tears over it. He’s been our world for so long and I feel overwhelming guilt for having another. I’m sure most of the emotion is raging hormones!!!
like most of you, I have nausea and food aversion. I have belching and a constant watery mouth. No sickness yet thankfully and some days I am normal.
I have a scan booked for Friday, I had pre eclampsia last pregnancy and became very unwell at 39 weeks so I am a little nervous. But keeping every crossed for this baby!!!

TeamSpike · 07/11/2023 21:43

Welcome @Babyhopeful23 congratulations! Same age for our dc then. I'm getting impatient about not having my first appointment letter yet. I had HELLP syndrome with dd so will be closely monitored I assume. I just want to get the ball rolling now.

Hi everyone! Would love to join 😊 Due 29th June with baby no.2 (DD currently 2.5 and is a delight - such a fun age, although definitely not able to rest as much this time round!) She also shared the gift of a stomach bug over the weekend which was lovely 🫠 My symptoms have been slightly sore boobs (on/off), but nausea and wretching lasting all day, and certain smells (like the fridge) suddenly being the worst thing in the world. Ended up having a scan on Friday as had some pains and bleeding and saw a tiny peppercorn-sized dot with an incredible heartbeat. Unbelievable! Hope you're all doing ok and thank you for creating this thread - the constant nausea has had me in tears this week so its nice to find like minded folk! X

TeamSpike · 08/11/2023 07:22

Welcome @Sandytoes66 so sorry you're suffering with the nausea. I'm the opposite at the moment and foolishly wondering if I'm actually pregnant as I've had no nausea. I shouldn't complain but it's just that definite sign of pregnancy isn't it

OP posts:
Sandytoes66 · 08/11/2023 07:26

@TeamSpike I remember this last time - I'd have a few days feeling more normal and start to stress! I do think everyone and every pregnancy is so different though, so try not to stress. It may be just round the corner for you, or you may not get any at all - a number of my friends didn't! But I do understand that pregnancy anxiety is not fun at all. X

FN396 · 08/11/2023 10:56

Hi everyone,
I'm nervously joining this group, as I'm pregnant with my first 🙂
I'm currently 9 weeks. Up until last week I was feeling surprisingly fine, but nausea hit at the end of last week and really ramped up over the weekend. Seems to be easing now, but replaced by headaches.
How's everyone else doing? Looking forward to following everyone's stories 😊
