I'm due 25th June 2024. So am 5+2 today. Very sore boobs and very tired. Also very thirsty. Anyone due around the same time and would like a support thread? This is my 2nd. Dd is 8, will be nearly 9 when baby comes. Let's share stories, symptoms and have a good moan when we need it!

Oh I feel for you @Justkeepmoving1234 I was sick all the way through with dd. I found sipping flat full fat Coke helped. I just tried to keep hydrated as well. Eating juicy fruits like oranges helped me. Fingers crossed it eases off soon

Hi everyone, I’m new here!
Congratulations to you all :-)
just found out this week that we are pregnant, I think about 5 weeks.
First time so not quite sure what to expect! Had on and off cramping and nausea but not actually been sick.
Have booked in with the midwife, first appointment is 20 Nov which seems a long way away when you haven’t done this before and don’t know whether things are normal / ok!

TeamSpike · 28/10/2023 21:06

Welcome @Clueless38 and congratulations! We'll be due around the same time as each other. Not long to wait for your first appointment. I still haven't received mine. I think it feels more real once you start seeing a midwife.

OP posts:
Clueless38 · 28/10/2023 21:12

It definitely doesn’t feel real at the moment!
How have you been feeling @TeamSpike ?

TeamSpike · 28/10/2023 21:36

I haven't been feeling too bad. Pretty tired this week. Had a few cramps. Had some heartburn. The most obvious though have been how sore my boobs are! I'm quite large chested anyway but taking off my bra at the end of the day has been pretty painful! Got some non-wired bras today. Hopefully they will be more comfortable.

Hi guys!

I am so happy to find a place where I feel I belong.

I am due on the 30th of June and this is my first pregnancy. I’m really struggling at the moment and I wasn’t sure who to turn to so I searched pregnancy forums and found myself here.

My parter and I have had a really tough week as we found out about the pregnancy in the middle of me have an infection on both sides due to wisdom tooth extraction, so I was in excruciating pain for a week and couldn’t talk, eat, smile or even leave my bed! This was already very difficult as it was nothing like the joy I imagined when finding out I was pregnant.

I am now really struggling with my feelings and emotions. I am finding myself feeling so scared and dreading all the change that is to come. I wanted this more than anything and now I’ve got it I feel like I was an idiot for not enjoying being a young couple with freedom and very little worries.

I was wondering if anyone else felt like this and if that fear of how everything is going to change lifts? I am the first of my siblings and friends to have a child, and already feel quite lonely. On top of that we are getting married in December and a number of people told me I’d be crazy to get pregnant so quickly, even though that’s what we so desperately wanted, and now I feel like I should have listened to them.

Any words would be so grateful, I am in a bit of a muddle here.

From a very grateful,

G

Hi and congratulations to everyone!

I am 5 weeks and 5 days and due 26th June! First baby and super excited. We haven’t told anyone and we’re just waiting to. We’ll probably tell people around Xmas time. It’s difficult tho. I just want to tell everyone!

So far symptoms include sore boobs, needing to pee all of the time and being hungry! I hope to good I don’t get really sick as I am such a drama queen when I’m sick.

I’m a bit worried tho about my booing scam as I heard they weigh you and go off BMI. I’m 5ft2 and 10.6 - I know what they’re going to say, I’m overweight. However I don’t overeat and do exercise reg. are they going to be awful to me? I’m really worried about it. I certainly don’t look overweight. I’d say I look average size!

Welcome @Georgiadent123 and @DuchessofSuffolk and congratulations!

Georgiadent123 I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. I think it's completely normal to have that freak out when you find out. Especially with your first. Trust me once the baby comes you'll forget that and wonder what you did before you had a baby! It's a completely new kind of love. I'm having a lot of change too. In the past 18 months I've gone from a single mum for the last 7 years to meeting the love of my life, meeting his son, moving in together and now finding out we're having a baby. It's very scary but I just try to focus on this being all I've wanted.

Please come and chat here about anything.

Oh and @DuchessofSuffolk don't worry about your weight. I'm 5ft 6 and weigh 16 and a half stone 🤷‍♀️ I don't think it matters as long as you're trying to be healthy during your pregnancy.

Georgiadent123 · 29/10/2023 11:59

@TeamSpike You have NO idea how much reading that helped me, it was like a balm. Thank you so much. I really needed to hear that!! I will definitely be using this forum as a place to reach out during this rollercoaster as it's already made me feel so much better. I cried to my fiancé about it last night which helped but nothing compares to speaking to women who have been there/are there.

That is a huge amount of change - but like you said it's what you've always wanted and it sounds like you finally have the kind of love you deserve! What a lucky bubba coming into a world with so much love waiting for them.
xxxx

TeamSpike · 29/10/2023 12:53

Oh I'm so glad it helped. I think it's really important to share advice and experiences here. It can feel really lonely. Big hugs

Deffo trying my best! You can only do what you can do tho I guess. I’m consciously trying to eat even better! Although, my diet wasn’t awful before! Xmas is gonna be hard tho - no pate, baileys or certain cheeses! Waaa 😂😂

Bubblesandtroubles · 29/10/2023 16:11

@DuchessofSuffolk I couldn't tell you the last time I had pate. But now I know I can't it's all I can think about!! Xx

NegativeNelly · 29/10/2023 19:30

Same boat as you but our first have been trying for nearly two years so I'm honestly so so happy! And praying for a healthy pregnancy for us all! 🤞

littlebopeep1991 · 29/10/2023 20:15

Hi ladies, I'm due June 26th with my first. I'm exhausted! We are trying to do our house up a bit and i can normally go for hours but I can barely do a thing and needed a three hour nap by 11am today!

TeamSpike · 29/10/2023 21:34

Welcome new comers. Congrats and fingers crossed for everyone to have happy and healthy pregnancies. I've had a horrific headache today. I get them quite often but now can't take ibuprofen along with paracetamol like I usually do. Will talk to the midwife about what strong painkillers I can take throughout

OP posts:
Bubblesandtroubles · 29/10/2023 22:05

@TeamSpike I was prescribed codeine for headaches in my first pregnancy. Was always a bit iffy about taking them though. Xx

starr24 · 30/10/2023 05:57

Hi everyone,

Feeling like I'm ready to join and officially say I'm pregnant with our second now. 5 weeks & 5 days due around 26th June. Despite trying for a while, I'm finding it hard to believe that this could be it! Second guessing any current symptoms etc, it's such a worrying time with not many people to talk to really!

Bubblesandtroubles · 30/10/2023 06:09

@starr24 congratulations and welcome. You're a day after me.
I wouldn't say I have many symptoms at this stage. Boobs maybe still a bit sore and I bloat easily. But that's it.
Oh and vivid dreams. I had an awful one last night that I had lost the baby. To the point I was a bit scared to go for a wee and check when I woke up. Thankfully bleeding was just a nightmare. It's obviously playing on my mind though. We told immediate family yesterday and so I panicked that I had jinxed it!
Trying to just take it a day at a time.
Here's hoping we all have smooth and uneventful pregnancies. Xx

starr24 · 30/10/2023 06:21

Thanks @Bubblesandtroubles and congratulations too. That nightmare sounds absolutely awful, I'm pleased it was just a nightmare! You're right to be just trying to take it day by day, I definitely need to take on that advice! I've got everything crossed that things go well for us all 🤞🤞my boobs have been sore but don't feel too bad at the moment, I'm tired, but feel like I'm always tired anyway so can't decide if this is worse than usual 😂and I'm getting occasional waves of feeling nauseous. Still getting quite frequent mild cramps. I just remember being absolutely exhausted and unable to stay awake during the first trimester in my previous pregnancy but I guess there's still lots of time for that!

TeamSpike · 30/10/2023 07:22

Welcome @starr24. I'm also the kind of person that's tired all the time haha. I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow. No nausea yet. I'm at that stage where I kind of want some nausea as it confirms I'm still pregnant! I'm sure I'll regret that when I start throwing up!

OP posts:
starr24 · 30/10/2023 07:29

@TeamSpike I know what you mean, I'm half hoping for some stronger symptoms just to reassure myself but also know I'll absolutely regret hoping for them once they start 😂 just can't win!

MrsG2907 · 30/10/2023 08:43

Hi guys, I hope you don’t mind me joining. Congrats to everyone!
im 5+2 and due 29th June. Its coming off the back of a 8 week miscarriage in July and a chemical in September. We were planning to have a break but I mistimed my fertile window. Cautiously happy and excited but feel a bit overwhelmed! I have a 2 year old too so im a bit worried about first trimester and looking after a toddler lol x

TeamSpike · 30/10/2023 10:33

Welcome @MrsG2907 and congratulations. So sorry about your loss. Fingers crossed for a sticky little bean this time.
