I'm due 25th June 2024. So am 5+2 today. Very sore boobs and very tired. Also very thirsty. Anyone due around the same time and would like a support thread? This is my 2nd. Dd is 8, will be nearly 9 when baby comes. Let's share stories, symptoms and have a good moan when we need it!

@Nat2903 I have an anterior placenta, but it's high

Nat2903 · 31/01/2024 15:11

Mine is low lying at the moment hope it moves

JRTfan · 31/01/2024 15:16

I'm 19+4 and have only felt little subtle flutters nothing really obvious, anterior placenta confirmed at gender scan so that took a bit of worry away. My friend is 6 weeks ahead of me and didn't feel anything until 22 weeks and that was sporadic and my SIL was 23 weeks so I think it does vary massively.
Would love to confirm gender at the 20 week scan but our trust won't do it annoyingly..they weren't 100% at the private scan as baby was covering their bits with a foot! 95% it's a girl tho so we will have to go with that I think!

Suchardchoccy · 31/01/2024 15:22

Yep high anterior placenta confirmed today!

Couggstar123 · 31/01/2024 17:49

@JRTfan our healthboard doesn’t tell you sex either but because I said to her we’ve had a scan and were told it’s a boy she just had a wee look and said oh yeah no denying he’s a little boy! 😂🤣 might be worth mentioning that you’ve had a private scan and you believe it’s a girl? I suppose it depends how strict your healthboard is. My friend is a nurse and because she works for the NHS her sonographer told her! Said you don’t get many perks…which is too true! 🤣

Wannabeamummybad · 01/02/2024 05:58

Hi all,

Joining you all so very late. I had a miscarriage last year February and I've been too frightened to even believe we got pregnant again. I was waiting for our 20th week scan before daring to start believing it.

It has been a very tough pregnancy physically and mentally but we are thankful baby is doing well. I'm now 20 weeks + 2. The pelvic girdle pain is in full force and the nausea, fatigue and headaches are lingering friends. Did I mention I'm also recovering from flu that had my gp send me to the hospital? I also have long covid but miraculously they currently have me under midwife care. The adventures of pregnancy! But it's all very worth it.

Not yet felt the baby move as I have an anterior placenta. We will have growth scans because of a fibroid which seems to love the hormones.

In all this: I'm so grateful. I love this baby so much and all the challenges are worth it 10 x over.

Sorry for being descriptive but I just wanted to put something out there for all the mummies who are having or may have had a difficult start. There is hope. Sending you all health dust and wishing you the best for your journeys.

VJ88 · 02/02/2024 10:50

So nice to read messages from some other anterior placenta folks! I feel so abnormal sometimes when I read posts about other people feeling movement (some cases of 2nd+ time mums are sooo early!). I'm 19 weeks today and have had the occasional moment when I have wondered, but nothing I am 100% certain is the baby.

Wannabeamummybad · 02/02/2024 21:25

@VJ88 It's definitely great reading messages from the anterior mother club! 😊 Just like you I've had moments of feeling abnormal. I've given up trying to distinguish tummy grumbles/gas (soery, TMI) and the baby moving. I thought I felt it, but I'm not too sure xx

MrsTrue · 02/02/2024 21:45

@Wannabeamummybad Congratulations and hope you are feeling more confident about things now. Although this is my second pregnancy and the first was largely a doddle, I was and still am nervous about so many things!

For the pelvic girdle pain, have you considered pregnancy yoga and/or swimming? The pelvic partnership has some great resources too... I found an osteopath was amazing for pain relief too!

DuchessofSuffolk · 23/02/2024 20:43

Long time no speak girls! Had my 20 weeks scan Monday, high anterior placenta so not felt anything yet but scan showed baby is v active. Baby is also a girl! We’re both super happy about that!

TeamSpike · 23/02/2024 22:16

Aww hi! Sorry been quiet. All fine this end. Am 23 and a half weeks. Had my second 20 week scan last weekend. Baby girl is all fine. Have been feeling lots of little movements. Usually in the evening when I'm on the sofa. Will be due a glucose test in a couple of weeks

@MrsTrue So sorry I dropped off. Been having the worst of times with work and my symptoms so got overwhelmed. I feel I haven't slept well for almost 6 weeks & I've been stressed so it's been tough. I have to say, any ladies with understanding employers are lucky. I've just felt bullied and mistreated. But enough of that: I'm keen to find ways to enjoy the rest of my pregnancy journey.

I came back because I just wanted to thank you for the tip about the pelvic partnership. I've found their page really helpful. I'm now in Physio, got a pregnancy belt and bought a pregancy ball and so many pregnancy cushions. Thank you so much.

How are you doing? I hope your journey is going well. Wishing you an amazing week xx

MrsTrue · 14/03/2024 14:15

@Wannabeamummybad - so sorry you've got a rubbish employer! As a minimum they need to follow the law, so don't stop advocating for yourself. Hopefully it doesn't impact on you and baby too much.

So glad the pelvic partnership has helped! I still remember my midwife telling me PGP was something I just had to put up with, only to find there were so many options!

We've got a tummy bug in our house at the moment, struggling to get enough water down me but hoping we're over the worst of it now 🤞

Wannabeamummybad · 14/03/2024 14:24

@MrsTrue Oh no! Last thing you need! I hope you don't suffer too much with it & you all get better soon. Yeah, keep persisting with the fluids. I can only imagine that must be challenging.

I'm so glad I've been lucky enough to get info from the likes of people like you. It really has made me feel hopeful because being informed at least takes some of the anxiety out of it. And it makes me feel a little more in control to know what I'm dealing with.

Yes, you'd think that employers would care to respect employees' health needs at the least & the law as far as not treating pregnant women unfairly but I've learned the hard way reality doesn't always reflect that. Speaking to several friends who have had children, I'm learning I'm far from the only one who has faced this kind of thing and so it saddens me. But let's keep on moving and trying to influence a better future for our little ones 😀.

Please look after yourself and take it easy. I hope you get back to full health in no time xx

TeamSpike · 15/03/2024 16:24

Hi ladies. Sorry to hear you're having a rough time! Hope the stomach bug clears up soon. I've had some hip and groin pain but it comes and goes. My hips are worse during the night when I'm led on my side. Had my gestational diabetes test and it was all clear so that's good. Got my first growth scan next Thurs. I'm 26+2 today. Feels like time is speeding up but I'm sure it won't be like that near the end! Also lots of kicks now which is lovely 😍

I had the occasional nose bleed early on but no headache with it and it was VERY mild (possibly dehydration in my case I think!).

Sounds like it's worth getting it checked if only to put your mind at rest.

Suchardchoccy · 26/03/2024 13:16

@Mills1991 I know the NHS says nose bleeds are common in pregnancy and I'm sure I experienced the odd one in my pregnancy with DD2 but light and I don't think I had a headache with them.

Maybe just text your midwife for a bit of reassurance

TeamSpike · 26/03/2024 19:20

I had a couple early on but not with headache. Give your midwife a message to put your mind at ease

Hi all :) Coming to this late as I've been a bit overwhelmed and in my own little bubble, as this pregnancy came at the same time as my promotion exam and house renovation 😬. Only just starting to look at forums and things...

I'm 29 weeks - due early June with my first. It's a girl and my goodness has the pregnancy been rough! I'm still frequently sick, sleeping terribly, beyond tired, and this week I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes! Not sure when this lovely pregnancy glow is meant to happen but I'm still waiting 😅 But I'm very grateful and excited - baby girl is kicking away as I type, which makes it all worthwhile. ❤

How are you all getting on? Have any of you been dealing with gestational diabetes or persistent sickness? If you're having a lovely pregnancy, please mention that, too - I can live vicariously through you lucky wotsits haha.

TeamSpike · 27/03/2024 22:17

Welcome and congratulations @Cyga! Sorry you're having such a rough time. I'm 28 weeks today with my second girl. Had the diabetes test but was all clear thankfully. Sleep is pretty bad for me too. Having bad girdle pain which I've seen a physio about. Having pillows all the way down to my feet between my legs is helping my hips but the pelvic pain is quite bad during the day. Counting down the weeks until maternity leave haha!

Hey! I have this week been diagnosed with GD. I am 29 weeks. Feeling very sorry for myself and overwhelmed at this point but starting to get my head around it all! Feels like it going to be a longggg few months.
Hoping you are finding things to fill you up and not suffering too much from sugar withdrawal! I have had a slight headache this week which is def down to withdrawal symptoms but start feeling a little better now. Just fed up. Really didn't want this pregnancy to be too medicalise but feels the opposite now :(

Redheadx · 29/03/2024 09:26

Hey girls, seems like a lot of us are in the same boat. 29 weeks and my second attempt at the diabetes test this week but I can’t keep that drink down. The midwife did a random sugar blood test on me and I passed but not sure how clear it is because I didn’t do the drinks test but trying not to stress about it.

the tiredness is beyond something I ever thought and the baby is head down so the pressure is intense but still have a bit to go so trying not to complain lol.

not finding out what we are having so loving all the guesses!

xx

JRTfan · 29/03/2024 09:49

I am 28 weeks due 22nd June. IVF baby after 12 very long years of trying! Also has the GD test but was thankfully clear. Pregnancy has been smooth sailing so far, only symptom I have had is a couple of fainting episodes, last one was over 2 weeks ago now though. I'm generally a very active person (not the gym but do a lot of walking) and haven't changed anything really during pregnancy, starting to feel a bit more out of breath on hilly walks now and bending down is becoming a bit more difficult as bump has had a growth spurt! I'm only 5ft 1 so will probably struggle further along. Hope anyone feeling rough starts to feel better soon it's so weird how everyone experiences pregnancy differently.

Suchardchoccy · 29/03/2024 12:17

I can't stop craving ice cold water and chewing the ice cubes 😂
