I'm due 25th June 2024. So am 5+2 today. Very sore boobs and very tired. Also very thirsty. Anyone due around the same time and would like a support thread? This is my 2nd. Dd is 8, will be nearly 9 when baby comes. Let's share stories, symptoms and have a good moan when we need it!

I’m also due 14th of June!

Suchardchoccy · 16/01/2024 21:36

@AprilShwrs congratulations! So exciting 😍 it does definitely help, let's just say I would rather give birth in the water than out. The warmth and the buoyancy helps with the pain. Even for early labour with my first, I was sat in the bath at home for a while and it definitely helped!!
I wasn't planning on using a pool with my first at all, but there was one free so they offered it to me, same again with my second actually! That's my experience anyway, I'm a massive wuss with pain too. It's good to keep an open mind (no matter if this is your first or fifth birth lol) in my opinion 😊

AprilShwrs · 16/01/2024 22:40

@ARM23 another birth day buddy🥰🥰

@Suchardchoccy thank you! Sounds like my cup of tea honestly. I love a bath 😅 I have a couple of midwife friends that I might question about it some more, get their opinions and make a decision. I like to think I have a pretty high pain threshold, but that might be ego talking. I’ll probably end up taking any and every pain relief they offer me 😂

Suchardchoccy · 17/01/2024 08:43

😂 there you go! Yes I would definitely get as much advice/research as possible there's plenty of time! Haha I don't blame you honestly, you don't get a medal for doing it without pain relief! You have to do what's right for you and baby, in the moment but it doesn't harm to be as prepared as possible

Zoe303 · 18/01/2024 14:21

@AprilShwrs I did hypnobirthing with my first, the breathing and positive mindset definitely helped a bit and helped me to stay calm (and really helped my anxiety in the run up to the birth), I did have some pethidine as well as a lot of gas and air. In advance I had planned to go in the pool but by the time I was at the hospital my contractions were so thick and fast I couldn’t even give the midwives a response when they asked if I wanted one! To be honest it was still so painful I am considering an epidural for my second if I am able to.

AprilShwrs · 18/01/2024 15:34

@Zoe303 i think at the very beginning it’ll probably be the best way to deal with things, but once the show really starts rolling I don’t think it’ll be enough, and like you I’ll need something a little stronger 😅

Zoe303 · 18/01/2024 16:24

Sorry @AprilShwrs I just realised it was @Suchardchoccy who asked the original hypnobirthing question who I meant to reply to 😂 baby brain has taken over already!

anyone else hit 20weeks and had their anatomy scans? Had ours on Thursday, found out we’re having a little boy! ☺️ My partner was convinced it was a girl, so abit of a shock for him. I think deep down I knew it was gonna be a boy myself. Never pictured myself a boy mum so what an adventure this is gonna be 🥰

also still not sure I’m feeling anything, anyone else not feeling baby move this far along? He was wriggling around in there during the scan so he’s active enough, but he does have a habit of facing backwards. Maybe that’s why?

Anyone due June 2024 and would like to join?
Couggstar123 · 27/01/2024 18:39

We have had our 20 week scan and thankfully all was well. I can feel him and see him moving every day now but I have a posterior placenta and they did comment at my 16 week scan saying he was extremely active so I would probably feel him quite early! Everyone is so different and loads of my friends had hardly any movement until 22 weeks plus so try not to worry about it. I definitely have days where he must sit further back and I feel him less (and have hellish back/ sacral pain) and then days when my bump is huge and you can literally see his head poking out of my belly. Quite bizarre!

Had my flu jab yesterday and I’ve been sooo tired today, feel like I’m back in the first trimester but he’s having a rave in their so he obvs doesn’t feel the same side effects! 🤣

TeamSpike · 27/01/2024 19:01

I had my anomaly scan on weds but I was only 19 weeks so I've got to go back at 23 weeks for a re do. I don't know why they send out appointments too early. We knew we're having a girl so it was conformed for us. Saw my consultant as well.

Also, as a lovely surprise. My sister has been trying for 2 years and told me yesterday she's 14 weeks! So our babies are due about 5 weeks apart. Absolutely over the moon for them and so excited our babies will be growing up together

Oh and have only felt a few small kicks but nothing consistent yet

Couggstar123 · 27/01/2024 19:38

Oh that’s a shame! I think our health board so them between 18-20 weeks? Was it just they they couldnt see everything yet? Just think of it as a little bonus scan. I will prob end up paying for another private scan cos 20 weeks feels so long to not check in. 🤣

TeamSpike · 27/01/2024 20:15

Yeah it's because she couldn't get a clear enough picture of her heart. So will have another anomaly scam at 23 weeks. I'll also be having growth scans every 4 weeks. It is lovely to see baby so often

glasshalffull0 · 27/01/2024 20:55

@TeamSpike I think I've felt small kicks too but it's my first baby so I really have no idea! They're becoming more consistent each day ad generally are low and just to the left of my stomach. Either that or I have very, very consistent wind in the same area!

glasshalffull0 · 27/01/2024 20:56

@AprilShwrs congratulations on your little boy! My partner and I have our 20 week scan on valentine's day, we are both so convinced we're having a girl so it'll be a very big (but pleasant) shock if its a boy!

AprilShwrs · 28/01/2024 07:21

@Couggstar123 I maybe felt something yesterday, but I’ve definitely not had a “that’s definitely a head” experience yet! 😲 I do think my bump is rather small though, so maybe like you said he’s sitting quite far back too!

I had the whooping cough and flu jabs on the same day as my scan, I can’t say I felt anymore tired than usual - though I was expecting to get sick 😅 my whooping cough arm aches really badly though and feels way more bruised that the flu jan arm.

@TeamSpike I’d say that’s a shame you have to go back, but at least you’ll get to see baby again sooner rather than later ☺️ my next consultant appointment is like this time next month and my next scan is booked in for April and then every 4 weeks after that! I might have to pay for s private scan before then though because idk if I can’t wait that long!

also congrats on your sisters announcement! How wonderful to have the cousins so close together! They’ll be best buds!!

@glasshalffull0 oh what a lovely day to find out! 😍 do coke back and let us know if you and your partner were both correct! ☺️

Anyone got a low lying anterior placenta?

Suchardchoccy · 29/01/2024 19:39

@Nat2903 I will find out on Wednesday!

Mills1991 · 29/01/2024 22:15

Hi Everyone
I’m 21 weeks tomorrow, have my scan on Thursday but I still don’t think I’ve felt him. I know they say everyone is different but anyone else feel like they’ve not felt anything? It is my first as well x

starr24 · 30/01/2024 06:12

@Nat2903 I have an anterior placenta again, not yet sure if it is low lying again but it was low lying anterior in my previous pregnancy. It had moved up and out of the way by the time they did the later scan to check.

I’m the same, now 22 weeks and feeling anxious that I’m not feeling him with my anterior placenta. I know they say up to 24 weeks but it’s hard not to worry…

Nat2903 · 30/01/2024 07:08

starr24 do I have to worry about a low lying placenta or not? I have been so scared and limited everything

AprilShwrs · 30/01/2024 15:40

@Mills1991 i’m 20+5 and only just started feeling baby! It’s still subtle at times. Some people suggest drinking orange juice to get baby moving around, then I feel him best when I’m lying on my back. You might need to lie there for awhile, but the first time I think I felt him it felt more like bubbles.

the only way I can describe it is like when you have a grumbly tummy, and you KNOW you NEED to go to the toilet. But it’s much lower down and more inconsistent.

I understand it weighs on your mind though, especially when so many others are talking about how they’ve been feeling them for ages! Not long till your scan though, and hopefully he’ll be kicking around in there like crazy! 😊

Suchardchoccy · 30/01/2024 16:17

Yes the earlier kicks and movements definitely feel similar to gas and are difficult to differentiate until you're like okay yeah that's DEFINITELY baby

Suchardchoccy · 30/01/2024 16:18

But again, that is different for everyone and every pregnancy
