@Hoglife I had flutters with my first around 16 weeks, it was just after my midwife appointment and I just kept saying to my dh that I felt like I had butterflies in my stomach.

I’ve had a couple of feelings every now and then but I’m not sure if it’s in my head because I’m desperate to feel the baby kick. I loved when my little girl moved as it just made me feel more at ease. Didn’t enjoy her full acrobatic routine at 3am though.

I’ve just found out I’m having a little boy and I’m terrified. Not sure why but I feel like I’ve fully adapted to being a girls mum and now feeling clueless 😂
I had my 16 week appointment today and the midwife offered to do the Doppler test. She said they don’t usually offer it until 20 weeks but since I’ve just had my gender scan, she said she would give it a go. Was so lovely just to hear that strong heartbeat.

Hopefulhoney6 · 09/10/2023 22:07

@Allaboard209 the flutters feel to me like a little gentle flick quite low down in my stomach. Either left or right side. But super sporadic. I’m 19 weeks with my first - felt them since 17 weeks but only really when I’m sitting still (on the sofa etc) and often when I have just eaten. it’s quite a distinctive feeling that I’ve never had before. But definitely not every day!

Different to my normal wind which usually then ends in me actually letting out the gas 😂😂 that and also feels like more of a “dropping” in my tummy.

May I join your thread?
I'm only 15 weeks at the moment, edd is 01/04/24, (I hope not! Smile) However I'm convinced I'll be earlier.

Littlemiracles232504 · 09/10/2023 23:07

Hi can I join?
im 19 weeks today, I actually have 3 children already but this little lady has been a complete surprise, I only found out last week when I started feeling movement whilst sat on the sofa, had regular periods and no symptoms right through, I had a scan on Friday and found out she’s a little girl and due on march 13th 🥰🥰
im still in complete shock

Psmama22 · 10/10/2023 11:20

@Hiddenvoice i am the exact same! I’m so confident being a girl mammy and know what I’m doing lol. Feel like I’m starting from scratch with a boy and hoping we bond as much as my little girl and I 😭

Thwam · 10/10/2023 12:19

So exciting hearing that people are feeling flutters! I’m only 15+6 and have an anterior placenta so haven’t felt anything yet.

Just had a call that my NIPT results are all negative!! What a relief. I can go back to being excited now!

FinallyMrsT · 10/10/2023 14:01

I havnt really been posting but lurking.
I am starting to feel more human with the HG calming down, but the dizzy/low BP has hit me and then last week I had some pain in my chest and ended up in hospital with suspected PE, it's been ruled out thankfully but just wanted to say sometimes niggles that just seem off is worth getting checked out and trust your gut... I did have to get a scan that has some risks to baby but they reduced doses and it was safest scan available for pregnant ladies. I did however feel bsby move for first time during scan
I'm 16 weeks today and ready for my pregnancy glow now

Yes that’s what I’m feeling too. I have such a shoe g bond with my little girl and i’m nervous about all the changes.
Also kicking myself that I didn’t buy many gender neutral things in my first pregnancy so will need to go get more clothes that are now flowery etc!

RooSut25 · 11/10/2023 11:48

Hi everyone, I'm 17+1 today with my second child - getting excited about the 20wk scan! I've tried to join the Facebook group but on all the links I've tried it says the link is broken - I know others have joined so it's probably just me, but has anyone else had this problem?!

WAC1 · 11/10/2023 11:54

Anyone else not told work yet?! I'm 18+6 and for some reason feel really nervous. I started new job 5 months ago and got pregnant 1 month later so I feel like I've not even been there for a year before I leave 😬

@WAC1 I am 17 weeks tomorrow and I haven't told work either. Not planning to do it until my 20 week scan if I can. I don't feel guilty but I am not looking forward to that moment either.

RooSut25 · 11/10/2023 16:39

@Busylizzie85 Thank you! That worked!
@WAC1 I have but only because I had no choice - my bump is enormous! I would have kept it quiet a bit longer otherwise, I don't think I told work about my first until 19 or 20 weeks.

RosieS22 · 11/10/2023 20:10

Commenting to follow the new thread 😊

Psmama22 · 11/10/2023 21:49

@Hiddenvoice im the exact same. Hoping to dye some of the babygrows etc with Dylon 😅😅

ClubSandwich · 12/10/2023 07:44

Checking in for the new thread, thanks for creating!

I’m 18+5 and feeling lots of movement now, my husband also felt a kick the other night 🥰 only the one though, I’ve felt a few more with my hands on my tummy but most I feel from inside!

Have my anatomy scan booked for Monday and feeling very nervous, hopefully everything will be fine and I can start to relax a bit.

Hope everyone is okay and feeling well 😊

Luce8910 · 12/10/2023 17:52

19+1 here so an early March arrival! I've been feeling little flutters/ bubbles for the past couple of weeks which have become progressively stronger - last night I actually saw my tummy move slightly where the kick was which was quite surreal particularly with baby #1! I have HG so had to tell my boss at 9 weeks (I had to keep getting off the tube to vomit on the way in so just couldn't do it and had to wfh until 15 weeks). Still sick about once a week, nauseous every night and on one xonvea a day. Don't know if anyone else on here has discussed HG in previous threads, I was initially reluctant to take any tablets but things were so bad by 9 weeks I gave in - I still worry about potential impact but when they ran out it got bad again so not sure what else to do! Heart beat was good at 17 week midwife appt so hoping all positive. Congratulations and hello to everyone else on the thread too!

HKS90 · 12/10/2023 21:21

Hi @Luce8910 😊 I’m 19+4 so we are very close! Got my 20 week scan on Monday. I’ve really struggled with sickness too, not quite as bad as HG as I’ve always managed to keep fluids and some food down, but I was sick around 8 times a day in 1st trimester and still being sick once most days now. I had to tell work really early too for that reason. So exciting about your little kicks! That must be really amazing 😁

Luce8910 · 12/10/2023 21:33

Ah I'm so sorry to hear it's still so regular, I still find it mentally tough when it happens on the rare day- always feel like I'll instinctively cry so really do empathise and hope that you have good support around you and that it gets progressively better. So exciting about the scan, that's really close! Ours isn't the end of October for some reason so will be almost 22 weeks. Feels like forever but can't wait!! 😍

Wotchaz · 13/10/2023 20:00

Thanks for the thread - took me a while to find you! Can’t believe I’ll be 20 weeks on Sunday, it’s gone SO quick (or at least the last month or so has). Anomaly scan on Tuesday, we’ll be finding out the sex and I’d be thrilled to hear we’re having another girl - I think having 3 sisters would be fab. Not that we wouldn’t be happy with a boy of course - in some ways I’d worry less about the impact on the dynamic between my girls who are super-close and adore each other. But the idea is definitely terrifying!

TheNorthernNurse · 14/10/2023 11:33

Hi All, hope I’m ok to join! I’m 20+1 and due on the 1st March :)

macki · 14/10/2023 18:48

Felt sick 24/7 for 10 weeks straight, starts to ease in week 16 then get hit with covid! 16 week appointment was short and sweet. 20 week scan is at 19 weeks for some reason, can’t wait to find out!!

HKS90 · 16/10/2023 15:27

It’s a boy! Just not a very cooperative one, I have to go back in a week as they couldn’t get all the measurements 😂

Caroline88Cici · 22/10/2023 19:38

@WAC1
I was in a similar position. Left a job of 15 years, started at my current place of employment at the end of April. Come July 14th I found out I was pregnant. I was terrified to tell them as my contract runs out in April 2024.
I told my employer at 11wks6. Theyve been incredibly supportive and have offered me a permanent contract. Stressing for nothing. Hope you have a good experience too. The law is on our side.

Went to a ‘Little Children’s Market’ near me and got a whole travel system in immaculate condition with all its accessories and matching nappy bag. Minus car seat obviously. All for £100 (RRP £350-450 excluding car seat)
Two outfits, like new for 80p total. And a brand new angel bath seat for £5.
Well worth a trip if there’s one near you.
