@Retrogamer I have felt the tiniest sporadic rolling sensations and I'm 19 weeks. I had a scan yesterday and my placenta is at the front of my womb which the sonographer said cushions the movement. If yours is the same you'll probably feel movement later but as Aquarius says, it's totally normal to not feel anything up to 24 weeks.

In fact I'm not even sure if what I've felt is movement, it could be wind!

SJ456 · 26/10/2023 19:41

For those of you have have an anterior placenta (or have had one in previous pregnancy) when did you start to feel movements?

Had my 20 weeks scan today and got told mine was anterior but think I feel some little thuds - unsure if it’s baby or not! Sadly my partner can’t feel from the outside yet

Psmama22 · 26/10/2023 19:57

I’m not on Facebook either, shame the thread has become so inactive due to it! Delighted to stay chatting here! Having a little boy, nervous of the unknown as my first was a girl! Can confirm she is a great sleeper lol - 9/10 😂

JustAnotherOpinion21 · 26/10/2023 20:14

So glad I found this thread, I'm due 17th March! If anyone has a link to the fb group, please can they send it to me?? :)

HKS90 · 26/10/2023 21:49

@Retrogamer I’m 22 weeks tomorrow and I’ve only been feeling definite regular movement for about a week. Everything was fine at my 20 week scan and baby was super wriggly! A friend of mine felt nothing until week 24 and it was about week 26 before her hubby could feel kicks and they have a very happy healthy one year old 😊

HKS90 · 26/10/2023 21:55

@Hiddenvoice are you using badger notes? On mine if I go onto appointments and click on the one I want to check it says in the details if it’s a scan, but it’s not obvious

Thwam · 26/10/2023 21:59

@Retrogamer I’m 18 weeks and also haven’t felt anything yet. They said my placenta was anterior at my 12 week scan. I had a midwife appointment yesterday where they listened in and we could hear baby’s heartbeat and also lots of movement, which was reassuring as I also don’t really have a bump yet!

Thank you, yeah I’ve got badger notes but no info has been provided. Just says appointment booked the everything else se is not specified. It was the same with my first pregnancy too, badger notes was never updated!

HKS90 · 27/10/2023 06:51

@Hiddenvoice oh that’s really annoying! Fingers crossed it’s your scan, surely they won’t make you wait longer than that. 22 weeks is long enough! It feels like such a long time between 12 and 20

Lily124 · 27/10/2023 07:17

@Hiddenvoice did they give you a date at your 12 week scan (is it written on the bottom of the print out they gave you then)? Our obstetric and scan appointments are booked through different systems. My consultant appointments have appeared on my BadgerNotes but my 20 week scan appointment hasn't. The date of it is written on letter they gave me at my first scan though so they've assured me it's booked in! If I were you I'd ring up the antenatal clinic and ask them. I don't think the 22 week one is going be your scan

Lily124 · 27/10/2023 07:20

Did anyone else's sickness get worse at 17/18 weeks? Initially I had constant nausea but wasn't actually vomiting much. I thought it was easing around 15 weeks although never completely went. Now for the last week it's been mostly just 'morning sickness' but I've been actually vomiting more than I was before 😩 someone please tell me it will go away soon 🙏

Yes I have had it back and now 20 weeks and still there! It’s been very sad but I’m hoping it will fade soon

Thank you. I didn’t get a letter when I went in for the 12 weeks scan as the midwife forgot to book it so I didn’t go in until 14 weeks. It didn’t appear on badger notes either . Only thing there is the midwife appointments and now this strange one at 22 weeks. It seems to be in a totally different hospital too. Phoned around today and no one can seem to explain anything so it’s quite annoying!

Lily124 · 27/10/2023 19:56

@Hiddenvoice oh I didn't get any appointment letters for scans either. I meant that they gave me a print out at my 12 week scan with a summary of the scan findings and it says the date of my 20 week scan at the bottom of it, so didn't know if your trust did something similar? Frustrating that they were no help when you called though 😩 can you phone the scan department directly to see if they've got you in for an appointment? I think it would be odd if they've booked it for 22 weeks because we had to give consent to have ours late at over 21 weeks (because we're on holiday at 20 weeks), which is stupid but they don't recommend as it doesn't leave you much time if there is problems. But maybe they've just calculated the dates wrong because you had your first scan at 14 weeks 🤔

Bluesky85 · 30/10/2023 08:09

Hi everyone, I’m just joining the group. I’m 18 weeks and due date 31 March. Like @Retrogamer I haven’t felt anything yet apart from low level cramping. And I have a posterior placenta so can’t help but feel a bit worried which I know is silly. Not helped by my partner constantly asking me if I’ve felt anything yet!

HKS90 · 30/10/2023 11:20

@Bluesky85 welcome! It’s so hard not to worry about everything isn’t it? I wasn’t really feeling anything at 18 weeks either. I’m 22 weeks now and I can feel the baby but my husband can’t really yet. He’s got lucky and felt one or two kicks but I reckon there’s max 3 a day that are big enough to be felt from the outside. You’ll feel much better after your 20 week scan when you can see baby wriggling around ☺️

BabyD6 · 30/10/2023 15:02

Had my 20 week scan today (I am 20+5). Baby all good and growing perfectly. Thought I’d post my scan photo here as made us giggle. Looks like the baby is telling me to be quiet 🙊 Also looks like baby has big biceps haha!

@Busylizzie85 How did your scan go?

Retrogamer · 30/10/2023 15:10

@Bluesky85 you're a similar due date to mine! I hope we can feel our little one soon. I don't know about my placenta position, on the notes it just says 'not found' hopefully some insight next week.

@BabyD6 that's such a fab scan photo. Haha I love the 'shh' pose , so cute

preggo39 · 30/10/2023 15:19

@BabyD6 Your scan is amazing! Love it 😆 Mine's on Thursday.

Aquarius93 · 30/10/2023 15:40

@BabyD6 thats such a great scan photo!

I have mine tomorrow morning! Feels like it’s been a long wait the last few weeks!

Busylizzie85 · 30/10/2023 15:45

Just coming home from mine now @BabyD6 all went ok everything looks and seems good. Placenta is low but hopefully that will move upwards later on. They also confirmed for certain it's another girl 💕

Hi all, first time posting here! Had my 20 week scan and we're having another boy 💙 AC is very large compared to other percentiles which is a bit worrying, but they're going to test me for GD. I was also told my placenta is very unusual and is covering my whole uterus except for over the cervix. So it's both anterior and posterior because it's so big. It's got me a bit worried as I've not heard of that before and can't find anything online!

TTCbaby2023 · 31/10/2023 10:30

Hi everyone, I am now 19+5 and have my 20 week scan on Thursday, needless to say I am very nervous about it. On a positive note I think I have started feeling her since last Saturday, it felt like small muscle twitch in my abdomen and happens sporadically. This morning upon waking up, she just would not stop, it's a strange feeling! I'm crossing my finger for the scan, we went for a private one at 16+4 weeks and all was good so I hope it bodes well for it...

BobbidyBibbidyBob · 31/10/2023 11:22

hi guys, i am 20 weeks today - scan on Friday - and i'm convinced after feeling movement over the weekend, i now haven't felt anything yesterday or today and am worrying, what do you think, is this normal? Should i try and get a scan?

Aquarius93 · 31/10/2023 13:42

Had my scan this morning and it’s a boy 💙 he was very uncooperative though so we were there a while! Also found out my placenta is anterior so that’s been muffling some of the kicks - the sonographer did say I should be able to feel them higher up though!
