@BobbidyBibbidyBob I had this last week. Panicked that something was seriously wrong when I didn't feel movement for a couple of days (even though I've been feeling very little anyway) and my acid reflux disappeared. I booked a private scan that day and all was well.

It's so easy to spiral. It's completely normal not to feel regular movement until 24 weeks. And you may have an anterior placenta - I do - which will muffle it.

If you want a scan today to put your mind at rest, then do it. It helped me - I couldn't stop crying! But I'm sure all is well ❤️

Busylizzie85 · 31/10/2023 14:57

@BobbidyBibbidyBob it's completely normal not to feel things every day this early as others have said it's not till 24 weeks plus that it becomes more regular.
I felt baby loads yesterday but barely at all today and I'm 20+6 with my first I never felt anything till over 24 weeks xx

Hi just found this thread whilst looking for 20 week stories. May I join? Due 17th March with baby 8.

Puddle13 · 01/11/2023 21:24

I’m due 17th of march as well with my first baby.

Motherofallthings7 · 02/11/2023 09:50

@Puddle13 congrats 🥳 have you had your 20nweek scan yet? We had ours yesterday and it's a healthy baby girl x

IVFGotThis05 · 02/11/2023 11:56

ahh these positive 20 week scans are keeping me going! I have mine next week!

I've also been a little similar in terms of movement, I'm pregnant with twins but with two anterior placentas.. I felt them shifting position I'd say rather than kicks and then last 2 days .. nothing! They like to keep us on our toes I think! I just keep saying to them come on babies... show me your okay!

Oh I found out that I am having 1 boy and 1 girl 😝😍😍We are over the moon!

Also the 'Ssshhh' scan is adorable!!! 😍

Puddle13 · 02/11/2023 12:20

@Motherofallthings7 I have mine tomorrow. We are going to wait and find out at the birth if we are having a boy or a girl. I think it’s a girl though. Hopefully everything goes well. I have been feeling the baby move a lot in the last 2 weeks which is good.

preggo39 · 02/11/2023 12:59

I had my 20 week scan this morning, all was well. I've checked the measurements and it looks like the baby has a big head and a fat belly! My partner has a pretty big head so I guess I've got him to thank for that...

preggo39 · 02/11/2023 13:00

@IVFGotThis05 That's exactly how I would describe the movement I've felt and I also have an anterior placenta.

One boy and one girl! Gorgeous!

Busylizzie85 · 02/11/2023 13:26

How lovely @IVFGotThis05 👦🧒

Just wanted to know if anyone else is having a lot of discharge? It's clear and nothing overly concerning I don't think but if I don't wear a liner it often comes through what I'm wearing which is a bit annoying and embarrassing!

IVFGotThis05 · 02/11/2023 14:49

@Busylizzie85 Yes! I keep thinking it's not normal but I've googled lots and it seems to be quite common!

Psmama22 · 02/11/2023 19:41

@Busylizzie85 totally normal! I change my underwear like 4 times a day lol! Second pregnancy and it was the same with my first

Busylizzie85 · 02/11/2023 20:08

Thank you @IVFGotThis05 @Psmama22 it's really good to know it's normal, I had it with my first but not as bad as this!

Thanks for all your lovely comments about our scan 🙊😍

@Busylizzie85 Yes! I was actually going to email my midwife to say about the discharge!

Do people have one midwife they direct any queries to? Do you have their mobile number etc? At my first midwife appointment they wrote a name on my notes and said that’s my midwife, but I’ve never actually seen or spoken to her?!?

Hiddenvoice · 02/11/2023 21:24

I’ve had a lot of discharge, I keep putting it down to being a second pregnancy and I maybe didn’t do my pelvic floor exercises very well after the first one 😂

@BabyD6 yeah I was given my midwives numbers with both pregnancies. If they need to contact me then they phone me directly from the number. It’s good because I can text her if I want to check anything.

Allaboard209 · 03/11/2023 11:29

Lovely scans! so exciting! @BabyD6 Think the midwife number thing changes from area to area and whether or not you are seen by a named community midwife or the one on duty in the hospital at the time. I have a general number for the midwives and anyone who answers can help out.

Sounds like anterior placentas are common, mine is anterior also! Funny I always thought it was just the norm to have it in the back and feel baby kicks - that's movies for you!

Has anybody got any tips for heartburn? I’m having a nightmare from late evening onwards. On the bright side I’m getting a lot of sleepless nights practice in 😂

KatY9876 · 04/11/2023 11:14

@HKS90 there is medicine you can take, or trying lying on your left side. Being on your right side can make it worse. X

If you chat to your pharmacist they can recommend pregnancy safe medication and if you find you are using frequently chat to your GP to get on prescription as it quickly racks up in cost!

Psmama22 · 08/11/2023 10:36

Hi ladies!

I had my big scan this morning and all good thankfully. During an early scan they pushed my dates back by a week due to the baby’s size so my due date was adjusted to a week later. During my scan this morning however the sonographer said that the measurements were in line with my original dates! Does anyone have any experience of this? Were your dates left or were they adjusted again? Thanks

STH1988 · 08/11/2023 11:40

@IVFGotThis05 I'm having boy/girl twins as well!!

I also have an anterior placenta but only on one side (the boy side), I can definitely feel the girl more but have felt the boy a bit lately, Im 23 weeks now so hopefully will start feeling a bit more now.

When are you due?

BabyD6 · 08/11/2023 13:47

Hi ladies! How are you all feeling?

Just wondered how your bumps are growing? I am 22 weeks today… Absolutely love my bump but don’t feel like it’s growing too much every week! I did reassure my friend who is a few weeks behind me and said to her don’t compare bumps, everyone grows at different rates and some people probably pop out soon but grow slowly for a few weeks, whereas some probably grow gradually each week..

I’m not concerned as I can feel baby move everyday and it’s definitely more regular now 🥰

Here’s my weekly pics I take…

Lily124 · 08/11/2023 14:02

@BabyD6 your bump is beautiful and looks like it's growing really well! ❤️ I'm nearly 20 weeks and still don't have one, no one can believe I'm pregnant! The comments are getting annoying now. I know it's nothing to worry about and as you say everyone's bump grows at different paces, but it's hard not to compare especially when I see ladies who are less pregnant than me with bigger bumps 😔

glasspaw · 08/11/2023 14:33

@Lily124 i’m the opposite. I had 3 people at work yesterday comment on how I was much earlier in the pregnancy than I looked because I am “massive.” I know they mean well but it’s not the nicest thing to hear. I can imagine the other side of the spectrum has its frustrations too 😂

BabyD6 · 08/11/2023 14:34

@Lily124 Oh bless you! As we’ve said, everyone grows differently! In a few weeks you may have a massive growth spurt 🥰
Some people’s bumps grow bigger throughout the day!

My week 18 looks so big 😂 But I think it’s just angles and obviously how the baby is positioned.. And probably a bit of bloat 😂

When I go out I normally wear maternity leggings with a vest top and jacket so my bump pops out… But if I wear a jumper you can’t tell… Maybe try a few outfits to try show it off more 😘
