Hi ladies, I couldn’t find another thread made, so made this as the other one was full. I will try tag a few people … if you can also tag.

@cruciverbalista congratulations and thanks so much for sharing that! What an amazing birth story ❤️ (absolutely obsessed with his name, it didn’t go with our surname or we would be having one too, great taste mum 😉)

doeandfawn · 18/10/2023 07:09

@RAP08 woohoo congratulations! That sounds intense but worth it! Thanks for giving those of us waiting some hope ❤️

5 days and counting until my section and it might as well be 5 years honestly

NSx · 18/10/2023 08:09

@cruciverbalista @RAP08 congratulations to you both 🤍✨✨✨

@PrimarilyParented well nothing has happened so far 😂😂😂 so I’m still waiting patiently…. 7 days to go until my due date anyways 😅😂 ….
analysing every little niggle 😂😅😂😂

Congrats @cruciverbalista and @RAP08! Sounds like you've both been through a lot but so lovely that you have your babies here.

Hope everyone waiting is doing ok, just a few days until my section and although I'm feeling uncomfortable I'm hoping she stays in until then

razzler991 · 18/10/2023 10:48

Congratulations on all new babies. I'm 40
Weeks today.

I went to hospital last night with mild contractions only to find out my baby is unstable lie (had an ECV a few weeks ago). They tried to admit me but wanted to go home to get my stuff. My cervix was also firmly closed as the head has not engaged.

Going back today for another ECV and then potential induction/ c section. Birth plan completely out the window!!!! Urgh. Fingers crossed healthy baby.

kingfisher168 · 18/10/2023 11:47

Just to reiterate what some others have said - it's great to have a plan but do be flexible as you never know what might happen. I went in planning a natural waterbirth and the contractions felt manageable until about 5cm, then it started ramping up quickly and I was very happy to ask for an epidural - best decision I have made! I actually got to enjoy the day (at least 12 hours) while going through contractions, just spending a nice time with my other half in the labour room, waiting for little one to come. Unfortunately due to baby getting stuck when pushing, we had to go in for an EMCS, the last thing I wanted, but so worth it to make sure baby arrived safely.

Wishing good luck to all mamas to be and well done to all mamas cuddling their babies at the moment (anyone not being able to put them down in their own bed or just me? 😂)

Hi ladies,
congratulations on all the new arrivals!
I’ve jumped over from the November thread, I’m due early Nov but who knows when the little one decides to make an entrance. My first one arrived at 42 weeks, just before they wanted to induce me, but I’m hoping this one won’t be that late as they recommend me not going past 40+3 before starting the induction.

If anyone has had any positive induction experience could you please share it with me? No negative ones please as I’ve heard enough of them.

Smiffette · 18/10/2023 13:19

So my MW has said I can't have a sweep tomorrow so booked in for Tuesday next week, although hoping I won't need it! I'll be 41 weeks then by dating scan..... 40 weeks by my dates! so never know!

WhosBob · 18/10/2023 13:28

I have an induction booked for 27th October as baby is slightly on the smaller side. I'm hoping to go into labour naturally before then because I was induced with my first and it wasn't a fun experience. If anyone has any tips that could kick start labour then send them my way please. I'm willing to try anything!

Glitterb · 18/10/2023 14:12

Congratulations to all the October babies so far ☺️my little girl arrived on Monday rather more quickly than the midwife expected at 38 weeks!

Hoping for more October babies very soon!

Travellingislife · 18/10/2023 14:18

@WhosBob I’m also trying to avoid induction. I had acupuncture with my first and labour started 24h afterwards just like she said! Highly recommend it. This time around I’m having reflexology and acupuncture from 37 weeks.
Also look up “ spinning babies”, there are movements you can do to help baby move to a favourable position in the pelvis which may encourage labour to start if the baby is ready.

FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween · 18/10/2023 14:23

Update on my sweep Monday, where my cervix was closed but soft-lost my mucus plug yesterday morning but nothing else since despite much ball bouncing and kerb walking (mores the pity!) second sweep scheduled tomorrow morning (at 40 weeks 3 days)

Sagittarius25 · 18/10/2023 14:27

Congrats on all the new babies! Getting impatient here at 38+5 😂 although had a growth scan today and baby boy measuring exactly 7lbs. Baby is also 3/5 engaged as per midwife yesterday. Get the occasional cramp in the evening and lots of episodes of pelvic pressure but nothing else yet. Consultant on Monday at 39+3 to review growth scan.

ES1986 · 18/10/2023 14:28

I’m booked in for an induction tomorrow as Friday’s scan showed baby’s abdomen is getting too big. I have gestational diabetes and have been doing really well, but Friday’s results just came out of nowhere 🙁

The midwife tried to do a sweep yesterday (at exactly 39 weeks) but couldn’t as I just wasn’t ready. Not confident for the induction, but we’ll see!

AlongcameLainey · 18/10/2023 16:23

I’ve just been for an appointment 40+1 and the midwife couldn’t do a sweep because although the cervix is low it is closed which surprised me as it’s my 2nd.

induction booked for Tuesday (41 weeks)

Really hoping she will come before then 🤞

GemmaJen · 18/10/2023 21:43

Hawthorne arrived by section today, doing really well and a very chilled boy so far 😊

Enjoying the baby cuddles this evening.

PrimarilyParented · 18/10/2023 21:47

@cruciverbalista and @RAP08 congratulations to you both. It sounds like neither of you got the births you planned, but I hope you’re both recovering well and your baby boys are healthy and happily settled in at home too.

Also, I love the name Hector, @RAP08.

PrimarilyParented · 18/10/2023 21:50

@GemmaJen congratulations to you too.

peonygirl · 18/10/2023 22:14

Little boy born via elective c-section early in the morning today. All went well, he's gorgeous at 6lb 2oz. I am in recovery, still in bed only. Slow steps but so happy he's here and healthy. I feel much better than before. He would have likely arrived on his own in the next days as he was fully engaged already 😉so much about back pain and Braxton Hicks!

OrionNebula · 18/10/2023 23:02

Huge congratulations @peonygirl ! I know you had a rough time with your pregnancy, so happy your little boy arrived safe and sound.

Hopefulx · 19/10/2023 01:25
