Hi ladies, I couldn’t find another thread made, so made this as the other one was full. I will try tag a few people … if you can also tag.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

39+3 and struck down with cold. Sore throat, blocked nose and starting with a bad head I think. Could cry! Currently on the sofa with a cup of milk feeling sorry for myself 😂

GemmaJen · 17/10/2023 03:50

@ttcttc solidarity, not a cold, but after our pre op appointment yesterday we went out for tea, I think I overdid it... Feel awful, sick, acid reflux, random joint pain... 🤦‍♀️ Just what we need before a section. Feeling very sorry for myself. Hope you're cold is a short lived one, awful time to get sick!

Hopefulx · 17/10/2023 06:43

@ttcttc sorry to hear you have a cold! Lots of rest and fluids. Watch some films in bed :)

I’m being induced today will keep the group updated with how it goes 🥰

BeaKind · 17/10/2023 06:57

@ttc @GemmaJen agh me too! Haven’t felt right for a week now tbh and toddler’s got it too 😩

Not how I thought I’d be spending the last couple of weeks of pregnancy. I’m worried at this point that if I went into labour I wouldn’t have the energy for it 😭

ttcttc · 17/10/2023 08:11

Aww ladies, least we're not alone!!

@BeaKind that's exactly my worry! Although I'm sure we'll manage... well we will have to lol

@Hopefulx yes keep us updated. Good luck 🩷🩵

@GemmaJen I do this all the time and then literally can't move because I'm so full. Hope you feel better this morning

Smiffette · 17/10/2023 09:04

@Hopefulx hope the induction goes nice and smoothly! you'll do great and have your little baby in your arms in no time!!

I feel that too OP's re energy for Labour!

I lost my plug this morning.... on his due date! Don't think he will be here today but excited to get a show finally!

FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween · 17/10/2023 09:25

Sweep’s definitely shifted something! Woke up to some cramping this morning and lost my mucus plug! No contractions yet so sent husband off to work but I feel so excited that we seem to be progressing!

Smiffette · 17/10/2023 09:40

@FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween I sent my DH off to work this morning too... I think I would find it annoying him hanging around the house! Plus his self employed so really needs to work as much as possible.

FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween · 17/10/2023 09:46

@Smiffette mine’s self employed too-totally agree! Mine is terrible at not doing anything also so it’s better that he has something to occupy him and keep his brain busy (I’m a lot better at slouching around with a book and a cuppa)

AlongcameLainey · 17/10/2023 10:43

@Smiffette @FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween how exciting!!

I hope this is that start of things for you both.

I think my plug has been coming away in little bits but I’m not too sure. Midwife appointment tomorrow so hopefully will have a sweep 🤞

FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween · 17/10/2023 10:45

@AlongcameLainey best of luck! Mine was just a big ol’ lump, super gross but I’m so happy about it 😂

AlongcameLainey · 17/10/2023 10:46

@FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween I would be too!

let us know if there are any further developments! Bet it gave you a nice boost of excitement today X

OrionNebula · 17/10/2023 11:27

Just checking in, been distracted by little one but just wanted to say congrats to all who have had babies and best of luck to those still waiting! Our little girl is doing great, 2 weeks and 1 day now and back to her birth weight, feeding lots and generally an easier baby so far than DD1 was at this stage... long may it last! Smile

peonygirl · 17/10/2023 11:34

oh my goodness @OrionNebula it's been 2 weeks already?! great to hear the report how well she's doing and hopefully she will be such an easy baby throughout.

I have a rest day before section tomorrow - I am done, all the hospital appointments took all joy out of me and I just want to cuddle my little boy now.

OrionNebula · 17/10/2023 11:35

@peonygirl yes I know, it's flown by! Can't imagine life without her now, love being a family of 4 🙂

Best of luck for tomorrow, looking forward to an update about your baby boy. You must be dying to meet him now xx

WhosBob · 17/10/2023 12:30

Can I join? 38 weeks today and I am utterly fed up. Also suffering from a sore throat and cough which isnt helping my mood. Hoping this baby won't keep me waiting too long. His big brother was 5 days past his due date but I don't think I can hold out for much longer as I'm soooo uncomfortable and huge

peonygirl · 17/10/2023 12:35

@WhosBob of course you can join - welcome! And boy don't we understand you, plenty of us who are fed up too :) I am 38w+1 today, not that huge but uncomfortable, heavy, my pelvis aches and I get tired super quick. I am also just waiting to see my baby. I had an IVF and my journey started last September! I am well and truly ready for this to finish and for us to start a new journey.

NSx · 17/10/2023 12:42

I’m 38+6 … I had really sore lower back pain this morning and tightness at the front. Is that a Braxton hick?
It’s my first baby so I don’t have a clue 😂😅 x

OP posts:
peonygirl · 17/10/2023 12:47

@NSx I have lower back pain too but Braxton Hicks feel like a really tight belly, it starts at the top and in my case the lower belly becomes rock hard. Then it softens again. At the time of these false contractions I can also feel the baby well - his bump sticks out :) it's kinda cute as I can tap on it and he slowly moves a bit. It's our special bonding lol.

PrimarilyParented · 17/10/2023 14:32

@NSx thats what I thought was Braxton hicks but which developed into Labour within 24 hours. I hadn’t had any back pain during my pregnancy and it suddenly kicked in, then I had tightenings of my bump too.

NSx · 17/10/2023 15:06

@peonygirl I had some tightening of the belly last night tbh but didn’t last too long … I have been fine the rest of today 😅

@PrimarilyParented I haven’t had back pain during my pregnancy either - I’m not due until another 8 days so not ready for Labour 😂 did you have any other signs? I’ve had nothing since this morning! X

OP posts:
thecatsthecats · 17/10/2023 16:11

I'm getting mild period-type pains late in the evening every day, but since my bump has dropped I'm finding it harder to figure out Braxton Hicks - it all feels so soft where it used to be hard!

His movements are also freaky now he's lower down. He's doing the same kicks and wriggles at the same times of day, but it's weird how little of it is shoved right up under my ribs any more.

PrimarilyParented · 17/10/2023 21:54

@NSx no other signs really beyond the back pain and “Braxton hicks” that turned into regular contractions by the next night. I did sleep horrendously the night before it all started too as my hips ached so much I couldn’t sleep properly. In retrospect that was perhaps a sign.

I also just had a feeling this was it and promptly panicked as I was only 37 weeks and we’d moved house 2 weeks earlier. There was (and still is) so much sorting/unpacking still to do and I hadn’t got the crib together or anything. So I spent the next day sorting out our bed room and the baby stuff and I started to get regular contractions properly that night and went into triage the next morning.

cruciverbalista · 18/10/2023 04:22

We finally got discharged and home Tuesday around 1 pm. I'm so happy. My mom's here helping with baby and it feels so good not to be pregnant anymore!! Sending love to those still waiting and all the other new mamas! Xx

By the way, I wrote out my birth story on Reddit if anyone's interested (I loved reading these while I was waiting for labor to kick in): https://www.reddit.com/r/BabyBumps/comments/17afxu4/graduation_story_at_41_wks_tw_obstructed_labor/

After a birth quite the opposite to my hypnobirthing plan. (Think 48hr early labour, 3hr active labour, Meconium, ventouse and stitches) our little boy, Hector, has finally made it this side! Just remember those who are still due We are all made of strong stuff and you will manage whatever happens!x
