Hi ladies, I couldn’t find another thread made, so made this as the other one was full. I will try tag a few people … if you can also tag.

Sorry to see so many of us are having sleepless nights.. but reassuring to know we aren’t alone!

I just had my first membrane sweep! If anyone is worried, don’t be - it didn’t hurt at all and only took about 20 seconds. I was expecting it to be really painful but it isn’t at all

VanillaOat · 14/10/2023 14:56

Hi ladies! My little girl arrived this morning after a VERY positive induction experience ❤️ over the moon and can’t believe she’s here!

peonygirl · 14/10/2023 15:09

@VanillaOat wonderful news!! So happy for you and that the experience was positive. Now cuddles galore :) Congratulations!

ES1986 · 14/10/2023 15:32

Congratulations @VanillaOat!

@Hopefulx I have my sweep on Tuesday and not looking forward to it as I don’t think I’m really ready yet. However the baby’s abdomen is measuring big so they want to try a sweep 48 hours before starting an induction Thursday. Getting quite anxious about everything tbh, especially as baby’s abdomen size has shot up since the last scan. I’m 38 weeks now. How many weeks pregnant are you?

Smiffette · 14/10/2023 15:47

Congratulations @VanillaOat so glad you had a positive experience!

AlongcameLainey · 14/10/2023 18:54

@VanillaOat congratulations 💕

FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween · 14/10/2023 18:56

@Hopefulx thank you for this! I have mine Monday and am a bit nervous-any progression since?

doeandfawn · 14/10/2023 19:32

@VanillaOat congratulations!!!! Hope you and the wee one are doing well ❤️

Hopefulx · 14/10/2023 19:40

@VanillaOat congratulations 🩷

@ES1986 good luck for Tuesday! Would you prefer to go into Labour naturally over induction? I was so worried about induction but I feel ok about it now.. trying to just roll with the card I get dealt with. Will you be nearly 39 weeks on Thursday? I am 40 weeks on Monday.

@FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween no nothing! She said I would probably experience period pains at least but I feel completely fine. I’m booked in for one on Tuesday if nothing happens. Good luck for Monday don’t feel nervous - it will all be over in 20 seconds and is a little similar to a smear test. Good luck! How many weeks are you?

ES1986 · 14/10/2023 20:00

@Hopefulx I wanted to go into labour naturally, but baby’s abdomen is getting far too big so can’t risk it. I’ll be 39 weeks on Tuesday, 39+2 for my induction on Thursday.

Just worried cos I’ve heard it’s ‘uncomfortable’ like a smear test, but I find smears quite painful. If it’s less than a minute though I’ll just breathe through it.

First concern is that the baby is healthy.

Glitterb · 14/10/2023 20:49

Congratulations @VanillaOat !

I have just got back from a 38 growth scan and ended up being admitted for an induction 😳 turns out as they did an internal for the balloon that I was already 2cm dilated with bulging waters so I had a sweep and sent home for another check tomorrow. I honestly couldn’t believe it! Thankful for another night at home as the ward was manic and I wouldn’t have got any sleep!

FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween · 14/10/2023 20:52

@Hopefulx 40 weeks on Monday, have been going on long walks every day and bouncing on my ball like a maniac so hoping a sweep will pop me over!

peonygirl · 14/10/2023 20:59

@Glitterb the wards are just crazy, aren't they? I am glad you got sent home and wish you all the best with the progressing of your labor. Let's hope tomorrow will be the day - 15.10 sounds like a very nice birthday :)

@FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween ✌you get to your baby soon, they might be a bit stubborn but know the longest you get to keep them in the better in terms of their development. I feel guilty to give my baby early eviction notice but can't be helped.

NSx · 14/10/2023 21:45

Oh it’s all go in here, good luck to the ladies preparing to possibly meet their little ones soon ✨

New here! Due on Thursday but sweep hopefully on Tuesday and being put on the induction schedule which we are marked as a priority due to previous loss last year. Carpal tunnel is my main bug bear right now! Three numb fingers on my right hand most days - cure? Have your baby! Also sleep is an issue hence being online at 3.40am! Been ball bouncing, dog walking, pineapple and date eating and baby is engaged just not moving anywhere! Hope everyone is doing well x

Sagittarius25 · 15/10/2023 07:42

Congrats @VanillaOat !

38+2 here and ready for him to just arrive now. Was in triage late yesterday afternoon due to reduced movements throughout main part of the day. All ok and kicked up a storm on the monitor and been fine since, but could just do without the constant monitoring movements stress now 😅

New2thisss · 15/10/2023 07:47

It’s so lovely watching this thread to see all the new arrivals 🥹. To all the mummys to be, you’ve got this, not long to go now!🩷

Has anyone on here had experience with a jaundice baby before or currently going through it? We have been in and out of hospital with our little yellow baby for daily blood tests since she arrived into the world and just looking for advice/ experiences of getting baby to be un-yellow ☺️

NSx · 15/10/2023 07:49

@RAP08 welcome 🤍✨

I could have written your post myself! The number fingers are a killer 😂 … I’m not due until the 25th, so have been advised by midwife if baby isn’t engaged soon will be booked for a sweep and induction too 😂😅 …
numb fingers are the worst, can’t wait for that to leave me. 😂😅
do you know what you’re having?

@RAP08 welcome 👋

RAP08 · 15/10/2023 10:00

@NSx yes we know what we are happening but keeping it under wraps until the y are safely on this side! How is everyone feeling today?x

katherine123x · 15/10/2023 10:25

@New2thisss feed feed feed and outside as much as possible

Our little one is 2 weeks and still has it but not had to go into hospital yet

Breast milk flushes it out well apparently (who knows) but try and be outside if you can for the UV.

Please share any other advice you may get! Xx

BeaKind · 15/10/2023 11:29

@New2thisss ah sorry you’re going through this. My first had jaundice and was on the UV light bed for a couple of days.

As @katherine123x said, lots of feeding. We topped up with formula too for the first couple of weeks (dropped this after to just breastfeeding). Also, if baby is sleepy and not feeding too much keep them awake by tickling feet, stroking their cheek to encourage their suckling reflex and if needs be make them cold. Our Feb baby was in just a nappy for a lot of his feeds to keep him awake.

Final thing, don’t worry if they are yellow for a while. Our midwife said it can hang around for a bit even after the bilirubin levels are ok. Especially the whites of their eyes.

I’m sure little one will be fine soon 🤍

Glitterb · 15/10/2023 13:10

@peonygirl thank you. Had bad period type cramps last night and again today when we went to hospital for another monitor and sweep. Now at 4cm dilated😳😳 I think the baby will beat the induction water breaking wait list if I’m honest!

peonygirl · 15/10/2023 14:58

@Glitterb nearly there, a bit more before the last push starts. I hope it all goes well and your body goes into labor without the need for further induction. 4cm is a good promise. I am still rooting for the 15th Oct. birthday :)

Hopefulx · 15/10/2023 17:03

I have been booked in for an induction on Tuesday after going to triage for reduced movements! Feeling really nervous but I know inductions can be a positive experience too!
