My scan was all fine. Baby measures a day ahead still :) It really looks like a baby now!

@TheBirdintheCave so pleased it went well, it's lovely when they have little arms isn't it 🥰

TheBirdintheCave · 11/10/2023 19:26

@SparkleFly Yes! Wee arms and leggies 🥰 This is the furthest we've got with a pregnancy since our son was born. I can't quite believe it.

SparkleFly · 12/10/2023 15:27

Hey girls, just had our 12 week scan, this baby is so wriggly! Started off with a headstand and then wouldn't stop moving! First time husband had seen it so it was lovely 🥰 stopped off for an M&S cake on the way home 🤤

Already got my 16 week and 20 week scans booked in and due date is end of April.
Telling our 3 year old on Saturday morning then we'll do the rounds telling the parents and the rest of the fam.

Hope you're all ok.

Brokenpancreas94 · 12/10/2023 15:28

Brokenpancreas94 · 14/10/2023 07:30

Anyone else got pregnancy insomnia 😫😫 just couldn't sleep last night, and I don't even feel relatively tired!

tulipsunday · 14/10/2023 11:42

@SparkleFly great news!

@Brokenpancreas94 I seem to be able to go down initially to sleep ok but can struggle getting back down when wake in the night as baby usually having a party 😂 and uncomfortable

OP posts:
suz2285 · 14/10/2023 12:25

@Brokenpancreas94 I go to sleep fine but the whole of the second trimester i wake up to the toilet about 2-4 am and then can't get back to sleep... this morning I was awake from 4-6, we got up and went out for a drive with a coffee and I just slept again from 9-11 but that's only cos it's the weekend 😂😂

Not even cos of baby, just cos I can't get back to sleep anymore after a pee! From weeks 14-24 ish I had the worst pregnancy rhinitis as soon as I was awake I just sneezed and blew my nose for hours! It's not as bad now but yeah, still awake in the middle of the night most nights!

Brokenpancreas94 · 14/10/2023 13:58

@tulipsunday @suz2285 well I went to bed feeling tired but just kept tossing and turning, and then when I did fall asleep my daughter woke me up not long afterwards and then I was awake again just before 7 which isn't like me, just don't feel tired which doesn't make sense to me 😂
I am also waking up for a wee too though 😂🙈

Brokenpancreas94 · 15/10/2023 12:10

Well I slept longer last night but now I feel more tired...make it make sense 😂🙈 feeling very out of breathe today though 🙃 my belly seems to have ballooned over night 😂

tulipsunday · 15/10/2023 14:44

@Brokenpancreas94 ha sometimes it just doesn't make sense! My tummy is definitely big. Getting the weird looking belly button thing going on 😂

OP posts:
suz2285 · 15/10/2023 15:42

@tulipsunday my belly button is flipping inside out if I rub my belly now! Def had a growth spurt!

I'm so emotional this weekend, can't stop crying... husband thinks I'm insane as there's 'no reason' and it's making me feel meh!

I do think tho as it's baby loss week this week I've seen so many people talking about it and its 'wave of light' tonight and I just don't want it to be in my face every 2 mins, staying off social media later on... 🙈

Also the weather is colder/wet and windy again now and I really need to force myself to get some fresh air etc instead of just hibernating which I know doesn't make me feel good... but yeah 🙈😂 hope everyone else is ok!

Brokenpancreas94 · 15/10/2023 15:48

@tulipsunday @suz2285 my belly button is normal for me but think that's because my bump is quite high 😂 the bottom half is still flabby 😂
I feel so out of breath doing nothing, he is defo higher up!

I know what you mean in regards to emotions, I'm trying not to think to much about it, but it'll be a year on Wednesday for me since I passed, and it was quite traumatic, want to try and distract myself this week x

suz2285 · 15/10/2023 15:55

@Brokenpancreas94 funny cos im def carrying lower down! 😂

Yeah I know what you mean, I would've been due round about now as well, and while I don't think about it daily I think your body just knows... I'm also just generally
Unmotivated and fed up doing the same things over and over and I really want to get into a routine again but my 'normal' things I do, walking, running, exercise etc are obv a bit restricted now and I don't do nearly as much of them so it's prob not helping with my mental health at all! Have to force myself to do it cos I know it'll help!

My sis is up this coming weekend so that should help, tho the weather is currently looking awful so all the things I wanted to do won't happen if it's chucking it down and 50mph winds all the time 🙈

Brokenpancreas94 · 15/10/2023 18:35

@suz2285 yeah, it's probably there in the back of our mind even when we aren't actively thinking about it!
I'm feeling very blah too! It's not wet here, but it's colder (which I like anyway haha) we went for a short walk earlier and it was just effort, I just feel so wiped out!

sweetpotato29 · 16/10/2023 10:48

Morning all, hope everyone is doing ok? I have been struggling with my anxiety over the past couple of days... it now feels like a while since the 12 week scan (even though it's only 2 weeks) and I just want to know how baby is doing. I'm worrying over every little twinge & obviously will just have no idea how things are going until I can feel them move or see bump growing.

Can anyone share what happens at the 16 week midwife appointment? Is there anything reassuring I can get from that?

TheBirdintheCave · 16/10/2023 10:50

@sweetpotato29 With my son, I got to hear his heartbeat for the first time BUT I think some trusts have stopped doing this now.

suz2285 · 16/10/2023 11:07

@sweetpotato29 my 16 week appointment wasn't very exciting, I have heard some people say they heard the Hb but our trust don't do it until 24 weeks... my 16 week one was just more leaflets and any chat about 12 weeks scan and blood results from that or anything... was pretty boring!

I had booked a private scan at 16 weeks for that exact reason as it seems a long time to wait until the 20 week scan!!

tulipsunday · 16/10/2023 12:40

@suz2285 I have also found all the baby loss week stuff on social media a bit much. Although I am conflicted as I am so glad that it is being discussed to try and break the taboo but at the same time it is a lot and can trigger emotions. Hope your sister's visit is a good distraction.

@sweetpotato29 the wait between the 12 and 20 week scan does feel long. I did hear the heartbeat at my 16wk but as @TheBirdintheCave says not all trusts will do this.

suz2285 · 16/10/2023 12:44

@tulipsunday totally agree but it's been a full week of it! I think cos i follow a lot of baby pages now it's been more noticeable as well.. normally i only notice a few posts! Anyway staying off social media yesterday helped a bit
