Hi! Just had a BFP after a MC at 8 weeks last year, and am looking for folks to breathe through the next few weeks with. I am in an age bracket where MC risk is high and I’m trying not to get ahead of myself!

Hi ladies, I'm 9+4 weeks now and since 9 weeks my symptoms have really reduced i.e. the nausea and sore boobs, do you think I should be worried? Has this happened to anyone else? I had a scan at 8+3 and a heartbeat was seen.

PurpleIsTheColour · 15/11/2023 12:54

11 weeks today and my nausea is completely gone since yesterday morning so I’m guessing that my placenta must have taken over🥳🥳🥳 Hopefully my insomnia will stop now too at least until the 3rd trimester so I can enjoy some sleep before the madness of having a newborn begins again.
Although my DD is just over 2 years old it seems like ages ago when she was a newborn so I can’t wait for the baby cuddles😍

Suchardchoccy · 15/11/2023 13:42

@Sd183 the round ligament pain to me is very low down and feels very intense like it takes my breath away and I keel over. Like pulling a muscle I suppose! I've got it already at 8 weeks

MizzMarple · 15/11/2023 13:53

I had my early scan today at EPAU which all went well. Measuring 7 weeks 5 days which is about what I thought. I’m so relieved. I was worried I didn’t have many symptoms (so different from previous pregnancies!) so was so worried.

Catson · 17/11/2023 13:44

My constant nausea has arrived as I've reached 8 weeks. I'm fairly sure in my first pregnancy it disappeared around 8 weeks. Hope it's not going to be here for long. I also have a lot of food aversions I didn't have last time so it's not even easy to eat to relieve the nausea. Any tips?

Ad12345678 · 17/11/2023 15:00

@Catson almonds, ginger ale, lots of junk food 😂, BRAT diet (bananas, rice, apples, toast) work for me

Wheeeeee · 18/11/2023 09:23

I've been surviving mainly on beige salty food, dairy milk and satsumas. Not my usual style but it's all I can stomach! It's surprising how debilitating constant nausea is 😬

Wheeeeee · 18/11/2023 09:24

I've also found fizzy drinks surprisingly soothing - Fanta is particularly hitting the spot at the moment!

Catson · 18/11/2023 10:21

@Ad12345678 @Wheeeeee thank you, the thought of any of those things makes me feel more sick. It's like a viscous cycle isn't it. Don't feel like eating so don't and then feel even sicker.
I am managing to eat but it's hard to have the first mouthful. Usually once I've had the first but I can then eat the rest, it seems to be just the thought I'm struggling with. So different to my last pregnancy

Wheeeeee · 18/11/2023 11:10

I completely understand - I'm not having any cravings for these things, it's just about what I'm least averse to! My last pregnancy was the same so I'm trying to do what I know works i.e. eat, but it's rough. I've been up eating biscuits at 3 or 4 am the last few nights because I wake up feeling so sick and it helps a little.

PurpleIsTheColour · 18/11/2023 11:58

Got my NIPT results and everything is low risk for the main trisomy conditions and also clear for the main chromosomal aneuploidy. 🥳🥳🥳
We also found out the gender and it’s a baby boy!💙💙💙 My 12 week scan is next Friday so I’m planning on telling work Monday after the scan, just want to have a look at baby once more before I make it official to everyone. It feels so strange when you’ve kept something a secret for over 2 months and you get to the stage where you can say it out loud.

glasshalffull0 · 18/11/2023 16:49

I'm currently 8 weeks exactly. Measuring about 10 days behind my NHS due date but I expected this- didn't ovulate until CD31 as I often have 50+ day cycles. My nausea seems to come and go in waves, I'll have a couple of okay-ish days (mild nausea) then a few days where it wipes me out. I've not actually been sick yet luckily.

Is anyone a couple of weeks ahead and had reduced nausea yet? I'm desperate to see light at the end of the tunnel!

Catson · 18/11/2023 17:21

Ah congratulations @PurpleIsTheColour that's great news. Is this your first? Can't believe June babies are getting scans, I haven't heard from my midwife for my booking appointment yet!

I am totally wiped out today, just slept for a couple of hours. I don't remember being this tired last time, but then I didn't have a toddler then. At least it's the weekend and my husband is here

Catson · 18/11/2023 17:23

@glasshalffull0 sorry, I'm about the same time as you, so I am no help at all. In my first pregnancy I had really bad nausea constantly until around 8/9 weeks and then it just vanished completely. This time it wasn't too bad and has only just really hit now I'm 8 weeks. So I guess there's no rhyme or reason. They do say when the placenta takes over it can reduce symptoms, which should be any time from now until 10ish weeks I think (don't quote me on that). Alot of people get relief in the second trimester so hopefully not much longer to go in any case

PurpleIsTheColour · 18/11/2023 17:33

@Catson , it’s my second actually, I already have a DD who is in the peak of the terrible twos so I know what you mean… it’s just so draining😫

DevonMum2Be · 18/11/2023 20:39

I’m 9 weeks today and feel as though the nausea has reduced a bit but I’m still feeling tired a lot and the constipation…! 🫣

My boobs had also been rock hard and sore (what a delightful picture I’m painting) but they feel a bit less sore today, just massive (in comparison to normal). The bloating is pretty uncomfy too!

Had the letter through this week for the 12 week scan which is on 14th December so not too much longer to wait.

Hope everyone’s doing ok! 💐

cosymama2020 · 19/11/2023 07:03

@glasshalffull0 I’m 12 weeks now and the nausea/sickness is nearly entirely gone. Starting getting better properly around week 10 and now I can go about usual life without the fear of wretching 😂

Have my dating scan tomorrow! So excited, my due date currently is 1st June so might either be pushed back or I might be migrating to the May board, we’ll see!

UK2NO23 · 19/11/2023 11:18

I have a first scan tomorrow (9weeks) and I’m so nervous, I really want everything to be okay. It’s all I can think about today 🥺 I don’t think I have any real reasons to be worried, still have symptoms, no bleeds but I had a horrible dream last night ands it’s really playing on my mind..

Goldie1234 · 19/11/2023 12:22

@PurpleIsTheColour that's such exciting news !! Congrats ! Was there a reason you decided to do the NIPT test ? Sorry if you've explained already!

Oo @DevonMum2Be my 12 week scan is the same day !!

We've all been struck down with some horrible head cold. I feel so rotten it's kind of masking my nausea, which is making me worry like mad !
@Catson I also read that the placenta takes over between 8 - 12 weeks so I'm hoping it's either that or that my head just hurts so much I can't feel anything else !!
Other poorly girls did you take paracetamol like normal? I've been trying to only take 1 tablet 4 times a day, but thinking about upping to 2...

Wheeeeee · 19/11/2023 12:46

I'm so grateful to be pregnant, but right now I feel like the worst Mum to my 3 year old and it's really upsetting me. My fatigue and nausea are awful and I just can't do all the things we usually do. I don't think he's ever watched so much TV in his life as the last week or so, and he's clearly missing his usual Mummy 😔

Anotheranxiousone · 19/11/2023 13:13

@Wheeeeee don’t feel bad, it’s temporary and that’s fine. We can only do what we can do, don’t beat yourself up :) if it’s any reassurance I’ve been like this since 6 weeks pregnant but now, at 11+1, starting to feel good again. Nausea mostly gone since 10 weeks with just the odd fleeting moments. Tiredness there but improving, not as dog tired as I was at all and more enthusiasm generally :)

ive been quiet on this thread as found out I was pregnant end of September having had a miscarriage start of September. So I basically fell pregnant immediately, which I’m incredibly fortunate and grateful for, but I’ve been really on edge about everything and didn’t want to plan too far ahead or let myself get excited. Still feel that way but not as much, as each week passes it’s getting a bit lighter. I’ve had a few scans for reassurance including yesterday and all ok so far. Will feel better after 12 week scan (should be next week some time) and screening assuming all looks ok.

I’m due 8 June as it stands but elective section will be in the week before then.

Hope everyone is doing ok xx

Anotheranxiousone · 19/11/2023 13:14

Oh just to add, sore boobs (fluctuate though) and constipation still very real symptoms!!

Marshmallowtoastie · 19/11/2023 13:48

Has everyone had their date for their 12 week scan already? I’m 9+3 and I’ve not heard. I know they can be as late as week 14 but that would take me up to Christmas week, and I’d prefer to get it done asap!

Hotmalibu94 · 19/11/2023 14:05

@Marshmallowtoastie I had my booking appointment last week and then they sent a letter to give me the scan date which arrived on Friday :) scan will be 11th December for me which would make me 12+2.
Have you had your booking appt yet?

Wheeeeee · 19/11/2023 15:40

@Anotheranxiousone thanks for the kind words and reassurance. I'm 9+2 so really hoping things start to ease soon!

@Marshmallowtoastie I've got my booking appointment next week and my scan in early December, pretty much 12 weeks on the dot by my LMP. In my area you ring to register and they book those appointments there and then. I guess everywhere does it differently, but I can understand why you're getting twitchy!
