Hi! Just had a BFP after a MC at 8 weeks last year, and am looking for folks to breathe through the next few weeks with. I am in an age bracket where MC risk is high and I’m trying not to get ahead of myself!

@LizzeyBenett I have been going through the same since about 6 weeks I think. I was so scared because I had a mmc in July and I just thought the worst and felt like I couldn’t get any excitement about this pregnancy. I also had a little bleed last Sunday evening which made it worse. I had a scan on Wednesday though when I was 8 weeks and everything was perfect!
my symptoms are still barely there apart from bloat and tiredness.
Ive now been given cyclogest and was all ready on aspirin but they have doubled the does to 150mg x

Dani46 · 04/11/2023 09:10

I have just booked a private scan for when I just before 10weeks, then I’ll wait for my nhs 12 weeks scan x
if you call your Epu they might scan you also, I had a scan there at 6 weeks and 8 weeks and now I’ve been discharged x

Goldie1234 · 04/11/2023 10:02

Yes I feel my symptoms come and go. I've had a really busy couple of days and was worried they'd gone, but as soon as I had a chance to stop I noticed them again.

SezP · 04/11/2023 10:22

@LizzeyBenett i have exactly this. To be honest I am pleased for the break from the nausea!

LizzeyBenett · 04/11/2023 10:23

Well In the short time since I posted that I feel pretty shit again ... I don't know if I should be pleased or not 😂

cosymama2020 · 04/11/2023 13:09

I was the same @LizzeyBenett had the most awful, constant nausea and sickness for 6 weeks straight. Then last week it got so much better and rarely feel sick at all now. Still utterly exhausted and bloated but had a scan last week and baby was measuring as per my dates. 10 weeks today and hoping that it’s just wearing off as I get closer to 2nd trimester.

Marshmallowtoastie · 04/11/2023 13:19

Hi can I join you all, I’m 7 weeks, first baby
had a scan this week to confirm that everything’s ok so far. I’m super bloated and nauseous but trying to be grateful after a MC earlier this year, and because I know other people experience these symptoms much worse! Hope everyone’s doing ok!

GL2021 · 04/11/2023 16:21

If anyone is Irish on here there’s a private group on fb I can send you for babies born due in june just send me a message :)

GeeinItLaldyX · 04/11/2023 17:57

Went for an early scan today at 7+3, was feeling quite anxious as my symptoms have really calmed down over the last few days, boobs not as sore, no nausea and more energy. But the baby looks all good, saw the little heartbeat going and was measuring as it should. So relieved! Guess I can relax a bit and enjoy not feeling so terrible

Dani46 · 04/11/2023 20:01

Amazing @GeeinItLaldyX, it’s so scary isn’t it especially when symptoms just disappear. X

Catson · 04/11/2023 22:58

Finding it very difficult not to compare. With
My first pregnancy I had bad nausea from 5 weeks. I'm around 6 weeks now and not felt the same. So obviously decided it must mean something is wrong, even though rational me knows all pregnancies are different

mamataylor · 05/11/2023 14:02

@Catson i was the same with my first pregnancy. Sickness from 5 weeks until 22 weeks. I’m 6 weeks today and no sickness. Hopefully we’ll just be lucky this time 🤞 it’s easier said than done but try not to worry x

Hi all, had a visit to the early pregnancy unit today and all was ok, saw the heartbeat and the sac all looking good... Such a relief after some bad cramps and a little big of blood. I feel like shouting from the rooftops now... But still only 7 weeks so trying not to get ahead of myself!

Need to decide when to tell my manager since I know I'll need a bit more time off for appointments now. Anyone else told their work yet???

cosymama2020 · 08/11/2023 17:00

@MrsTrue aw fab news!

I’ve told my work because I was so sick and my pregnancy is complicated. I’m 10 weeks now though and had 2 scans already so felt okay telling them! They’ve been great and really supportive.

VJFord · 08/11/2023 19:43

@MrsTrue very happy to hear that all was looking good at your scan today.
I'm not sure what to do about telling work. We've got our first scan next week (I will be 7 weeks) and then I think I'll decide. I'm tempted to wait until we get to the 12 week point though. I will have quite a few appointments before then but thankfully I work from home and my boss is very laid back, so I don't think he'd even notice if I'm gone for the occasional hour or two 😂

FN396 · 08/11/2023 19:49

Hi everyone, I'm 8+6 and the nausea is so draining! Anyone got any good tips? I'm not sure I can face weeks and weeks of this...
I'm struggling with the unpredictability of it all. I thought I had turned a corner with it yesterday, but it's back this evening

DemelzaRobins · 08/11/2023 20:19

I'm 10+3 and told work weeks ago. I've already had 3 pregnancy appointments due to my history of ectopic and miscarriage (2 early scans plus booking in). Main reason I said was due to the awful nausea as I've needed to WFH.

Work were so supportive with my ectopic and miscarriage and have been developing me for promotion since them, so I knew sharing wouldn't cause me any issues.

waster86 · 08/11/2023 21:29

I am not planning to tell work until wayyy after 12 weeks. Last time I didn't tell them until I was 22 weeks 🤣. Don't think I will get away with doing it so late this time but for me, I would rather tell them a bit later. Saying that, the 24/7 nausea is quite difficult to hide some days!

Wheeeeee · 09/11/2023 09:36

I'd prefer to wait until after my 12 week scan to tell work but if my sickness gets as bad as last time I'll need some flexibility so might have to tell them sooner. I'm not worried about being treated badly for being pregnant, they're a great employer, I just prefer to keep things to myself if possible.

cdn298 · 09/11/2023 09:43

I've not told work yet, i said my DS had an app for my booking appointment and I've booked annual leave for my 12 week scan. I'm planning on telling them after my Down Syndrome screening results x

MizzMarple · 09/11/2023 09:51

I’ve not told work yet but I’m only 7 weeks. All of my appointments booked so far have happened to fall on my non working days. They’ve been supportive before so I’m not worried about that but I don’t want loads of people knowing yet.

On another thing, I’ve had hyperemesis in all my 3 previous pregnancies and so far I’ve only been sick a couple of times. It’s really worrying me - I’m normally in hospital by now! I guess all pregnancies are different though.

Jak803 · 09/11/2023 11:25

I have told work, as I am now like a hungover zombie. A zombie who can’t stop eating hula hoops. I think it’s best they know, otherwise they might think I’ve lost it a bit!

Hi @FN396 what works for me for nausea is eating by the clock. I literally have timer set up for every 2,5 hours. Also almond helps surprisingly well and coke or ginger ale with lots of ice. And getting out of the house for fresh air, as hard as it is to do 😂and sleep. The more I sleep the better I feel. Also peeing helps to get rid of the toxins so drinking as much as possible should help too. Good luck, I know it’s exhausting. I’m 6+6 today and last week wasn’t nice at all

CamdenQueen · 09/11/2023 19:55

I’ve been struck down with Covid 😭 my GP was not very reassuring at all. She said there’s no evidence that covid impacts pregnancy but if I’m going to have a miscarriage it’ll between the 7-10 week mark most likely and it’s just Mother Nature so no point worrying about it 🥴 I’m 7 weeks today so could have done without hearing that!

Anyone else have covid in early pregnancy? From googling it seems it’ll be all fine hopefully but just another worry to add to the pile in this horribly slow 12 week wait
