Hi! Just had a BFP after a MC at 8 weeks last year, and am looking for folks to breathe through the next few weeks with. I am in an age bracket where MC risk is high and I’m trying not to get ahead of myself!

Sorry, that was in reply to @oop

oop · 25/10/2023 20:16

Thanks @Tefiti3 . That's good to know!
I had a scan at a similar time with my son and I was so nervous but my anxiety is much worse this time so I'm a bit of a mess.
Glad your scan went well!

Shiny88 · 25/10/2023 20:21

Thank you @mamataylor @cosymama2020 and @Bubblesandtroubles for getting back.
It's a very timid group so I think I will continue until I physically cant any more 😅 xx

With you all on the anxiety.
I have my first scan on Friday and I'm getting progressively more anxious as it draws closer.
I'm 8 weeks today but I feel like my nausea has really eased the last few days. It's not totally gone and I still have sore boobs but it makes me nervous as last time I lost symptoms I started bleeding the next day and miscarried. That was 6 weeks though. I thought symptoms are meant to ramp up at 8 weeks!.

I'm sorry to hear your anxious. I'm sure everything will be fine with your little bundle of joy.
With my first child, I was horrendously sick and sometimes it would disappear for a couple of days and then appear again I hope that helps reassure you. But I understand when you've had a miscarriage nothing will really reassure you until you've had that scan.

Sending big hugs xx

DemelzaRobins · 25/10/2023 20:31

I'm now 8+3 and the nausea is awful. I've not actually been sick though. I retch a lot and sometimes cough so much I am almost sick - have had a cold recently and I usually develop that type of cough after a cold as am asthmatic. The nausea is almost constant and just worsens as the day goes on. Initially eating regularly helped but by late afternoon that no longer helps. Feeling very miserable with it!

Anyone got any tips? I've been trying cold lemon water, regular snacks of dry foods like biscuits and breadsticks, eating things with ginger in like ginger biscuits and (mild) curries and sucking mints and sweets.

MrsTrue · 25/10/2023 20:45

Hi all... I'm due at the end of June with my second. Glad to find a group in a similar due date range to me!!

@DemelzaRobins I found pregnacare vitamins made my nausea so much worse in my first pregnancy, so if you're taking them maybe try something different? I swear by Proceive, even though I think they're more expensive. I couldn't handle pregnacare so for me it was worth it! Ginger stem cubes from Holland and barratt helped a bit too.

Nice to hear of a successful scan! Trying to decide when to have ours, had one around 9 weeks last time 🙂

Shiny88 · 25/10/2023 21:38

@DemelzaRobins sorry to hear your nauseous.
I had hyperemesis gravidarum with my first pregnancy for 7 months it was horrendous.
If you are taking a multi vitamin stop and just take folic acid and vitamin d, for some reason multi vitamins make it worse.
Also Iv seen this lady who is into natural medicine saying that a lot of women who suffer with morning sickness is because they are lacking in magnesium.
Not sure how true that is but worth a shot.

Have you also tried travel bands, the ones for travel sickness?

Hope you feel less nauseous soon xx

Trying to join the FB group but can’t find it when searching, unless it is one of these?

Anyone getting dull stabby pain just under their left rib cage, where your bra sits kind of area. Only around 4.5 weeks...

Dani46 · 25/10/2023 23:12

@Anotheranxiousone it’s none of them ones, I have tried to send a link but I can’t figure out how to do it properly. I’m rubbish at things like that x

LizzeyBenett · 26/10/2023 06:23

Hi all panicking a bit as my symptoms have faded over the last day boobs aren't sore my bloating has almost gone I'm 5 +4. I took a test the top one is last week and the bottom one is this morning that's a good sign right ?

Stephy1024 · 26/10/2023 07:10

Morning ladies. I have a scan on Tuesday when I will be 8+4 going from LMP. I'm just curious how far out was other people measuring at the scan compared to LMP?

oop · 26/10/2023 07:37

Thank you @Shiny88 it does help.

@LizzeyBenett that's about as strong as a test can get so you're very much out of chemical risk I'd say! After this point it's just a waiting game until your first scan whenever you decide that will be. It's the hardest stretch of pregnancy in many ways I think!

LizzeyBenett · 26/10/2023 07:42

@oop thank you for the response I had a MC at 7 weeks last time so I'm very on edge just crossing my fingers , but think I willl book in for an early scan once I'm 7 weeks for piece of mind

Nightbeforeslothmas · 26/10/2023 07:42

@LizzeyBenett symptoms can come & go. Those tests look they are different brands & lines aren't a pregnancy health indicator but yeah looks like the HCG floweth freely between last week & this week?

@Stephy1024 had a scan at 7 weeks, it was about a week out but I actually think the dates might match up with implantation & there is a margin of error that early anyway.

Dani46 · 26/10/2023 09:28

@LizzeyBenett I am the exact same! I’m 6w6d now and mine have been coming and going and now they’re gone.
I did have a scan at 6 weeks where it was all fine, baby’s heartbeat was seen flickering also, but it doesn’t ease any anxieties I have. I had a missed miscarriage in July, baby had stopped growing and heart stopped at 7 weeks so I think that’s why I’m also worried more.
If you contact your epu they might see and also give you a scan, mine did so saves you paying for private too. I’ve also got another one next week when I’ll be 8 weeks. 🤞🤞 we get our rainbow 🌈 x

Catson · 26/10/2023 09:33

@Stephy1024 with my first I didn't have a scan until 12 weeks but they brought my date forward just over a week

Tefiti3 · 26/10/2023 10:06

@Stephy1024 measured about 2-3 days behind at my 8 week scan this week, although midwife said theres a huge margin of error because they’re so teeny at this stage so they don’t start changing due datues until the 12 week scan. Good luck 🙂

Stephy1024 · 26/10/2023 10:17

@Nightbeforeslothmas @Catson @Tefiti3 thank you for your replies. I wanted to book it early but also if I am a little behind that I'm far enough along for there to be a heartbeat. Hopefully it will be good news this time.

DemelzaRobins · 26/10/2023 10:44

@Shiny88 and @MrsTrue - thanks very much. I'm taking superdrug pregnancy vitamins but have skipped this morning to see if that helps. I'm also taking prescription folic acid as I take sulfasalazine so have the folic acid covered already. Normally I take the max OTC vit D dose so hopefully I have a good stock of vit D in my system until I can get some pregnancy dose vit D. I've got my booking in appointment next week so can ask my midwife for advice.

I forgot to say I've been using the travel sickness bands. Bought a new set the other week and promptly lost them so must try and find them so I can wash the current pair!

G7X · 26/10/2023 11:16

@Stephy1024 had a scan this morning I am 7 weeks going by LMP and she said I measured just under 7 weeks.

Relieved all was well! She said there’s a tiny bleed outside probably from implantation so not to worry if I get any spotting.

Now for the 5 week wait until 12 week scan…

Shiny88 · 26/10/2023 12:14

Have any of you experienced this?
A sudden intense pain on one side that goes round to the hip and down the leg Abit?
It lasted for about 10mins and now just a dull ache.

I'm worried it's an ectopic pregnancy now 😩

Boredinthehouse12 · 26/10/2023 12:36

@Stephy1024 I had a scan yesterday at 7 weeks since LMP and measured 6+5.

Stephy1024 · 26/10/2023 15:06

Thank you ladies. I was worried I'd be weeks behind and there'd be no heartbeat coz I was too early. Only I could book a scan on Halloween 🎃
